Didn't Kato said something similar awhile back? Or was it someone else?
In any case, I wouldn't get my hopes too high, it's not like this is the first time it's happened.

Personally, I think a movie wouldn't do the game justice, even if you cut all the filler. I'm more inclined towards an animation series, 13 episodes or so, although I don't see that happening either, unless it's paired with a new entry in the series.

How did I miss this. I love electronic music, especially Shpongle. Going to listen now!

Edit: I'm halfway through the first album and I'm loving every second of it so far. It kinda reminds me of Boards of Canada more than anything else, though I can see the mix of all these other influences. It's really good, honestly. Keep it up!

Chrono News / Re: Chrono Сross Modification

What about Time Devourer music — I don't know yet. Should we? Maybe total silence is not a best design choice, but what else could be there? We may discuss every aspect of the game right here, I want to listen every opinion.
I think it's best to leave it as it is, that was the intended way, I assume because of the DBT itself. Silence is perfect for desolated atmospheres and emotional scenes if you know where and when to do it, and I think they nailed it. Besides, there's the Chrono Cross thing, it wouldn't make sense if there's music already.

I want to know too if the music is changeable or replaceable, and what limitations there are.

I wanted to add some RD translations to the wiki, but apparently I can't, so here goes:

* Spanish (Spain) by Magno
* Spanish (Latin America) by Dervour

General Discussion / Radical Dreamers release date?
« on: March 25, 2016, 05:45:01 pm »
As some of you may have noticed, this year marks the 20th anniversary of Radical Dreamers.

I was looking into it a bit more, and realized that the Compendium says it was released on June 1, while others sources state it was February 3.

Of course I trust you guys more on any Chrono-related things, but how do we know which is it? How can we be certain? For example, is the release date stored somewhere within the ROM?

This was an awesome update (I didn't expect one to begin with), especially the interviews. Keep 'em coming!

RPGMaker is good but it's so oversuded these days, it really depends on the creator's creativity and innovation. I've seen a lot of good games (not Chrono-related), but they aren't that different from each other apart from the battle style and whatnot.

I'd love to see CC hacks, but given the game's reputation I think it's difficult to get attention. Not to mention the difficulty to work on the engine itself.

CE/PG-style are the best bets I think, but again, they'd have to push the engine to the max and really give a fresh experience, like those hacks did.

I'd really prefer something original, ala Chrono Resurrection. Not necessarily a remake, not necessarily 3D, and even not necessarily using known characters and settings. But I know it's still difficult, even without C&Ds and stuff. And it's understandable. So I guess my point is, it's better to just move on onto something new, inspired by the franchise. Kinda like what the guys from the Metal Gear remake did with Cold Horizon after getting C&D'd by Konami.

In short, as Schala put it, my best option would be a spiritual successor.

PS: And what about other works, like film/animation?

Is the End of Time linked to only one timeline, or multiple timelines? From what we see in the game it seems it's just the one, but it could be that these other travelers come from another timeline that we may not even know of.

If they are from the same timeline, it's difficult to say who could it be. Perhaps Melchior and Belthasar were there at some point?

Interesting article :D

It got me thinking, if a parallel universe has left their mark on our own, that means "we" could've left our mark on others as well. Even if we can't detect or see them, maybe one of them could.

Also, if they exist, how many of them are there? The obvious answer would be infinite, but what if, for example, there are only two or three? How different would they be?

I can't help but think about Chronopolis. We gotta start somewhere I guess, and this is a good starting point. Even if it leads nowhere, at least it puts the topic on the table. Perhaps one day science will catch up and we will be able to see other universes.

Chrono News / Re: Guys, I think it's hype time!

I wouldn't be so dismissive of that article.  It's probably the best news Chrono fans have gotten in years.  Since Final Fantasy VII Remake is already in the works, and remakes/remasters in general are one of the most popular trends in the industry right now, I think a return of Chrono is not only likely, it is all but assured.  The only real question is what form a new Chrono will take.

A reimagining/retelling? That's also a trend... :P

Just to be clear, my opinion wasn't based on just the previews, I listened to the whole thing (here).

Also I didn't mean that the songs should be more faithful to the originals, I was complaining that they took already-existing arrangements and basically put them in the album with very little effort in the process.

It's a good album tho, just not especially outstanding or anything, but I'm still gonna get it (hopefully soon). We have to maintain demand for this stuff, so at least they keep doing them... Chrono 30th maybe? :P

I was expecting a lot of people talking about this album. It seems it wasn't enough to keep the community alive. Oh well... :c

I actually enjoyed only a couple of the tracks, the rest as you said were too fanremix-y. Not to mention they re-arranged these songs instead of the originals, including the lyrics. I personally like vocal arrangements when done correctly, but Shigihara's style for an album like this is just... weird. Nothing against her, she's actually quite good, I blame the album production. On the other hand, Ālainn's songs were amazing, especially To Far Away Times.

Nothing exceptional on the rest of the tracks besides Marbule, which is exactly what I was expecting from Mitsuda. Some other tracks are still good, but it's nothing we haven't heard before.

Also, Zabadak ripping off Led Zeppelin? Time's Scashmir?

All in all, it feels very rushed. Taking Creid as a reference (I loved that btw), 10 tracks is okay for one game, but as you mentioned it's just not enough for these two. Especially since we've waited for this to happen for a looong time.

PS: they should've recruited Meine Meinung, if these guys fused together they would become Mitsuda, I'm sure of it xD
