It's official -- the results of Nintendo Power's VC Poll are in, and EarthBound is #1. The coolest part -- MOTHER came in fourth place, ahead of Majora's Mask!

    1. Earthbound
    2. Super Mario RPG
    3. Chrono Trigger
    4. Mother
    5. Majoras Mask

An awesome list. Kudos on the voters for picking great games!

Is Mother the original or Mother 3 with Lucas?

Excellent work.

It's a little rough to think of our favorite charters as Mike, and David, etc, at first, but once you realize it's a different story its alright.

Interesting introduction. I take it its right before the Day of Lavos?

I like the poster.

But I LOOOOOVE your wolf wallpaper.

You'd love my room then. Has a few posters/pictures of wolves, wolf calendar, wolf statutes etc...

It's nicknamed the Wolf Den because of it lol.
I dunno it's just the way it turned out. I'm not really in love with wolves that much. I think it's more of a running joke now than anything else.

Hey cool a CT movie poster. I hope it ends up nice....but really a 30 sec speech? that seems odd.

It's very odd. We had 2 near the end. One was a buisness application, and this one was whatever we wanted.

That was nice.. :)  although i cant imagine how you were able to pull that 30 sec speech off.
that was way too short a time to describe the brilliance of CT..

No kidding. Here it was verbatim, or close to it.

In 1995, Squaresoft created what would become one of the greatest games of all time.
That game being, Chrono Trigger.
Chrono Trigger tells the tale of 7 brave adventurers, who are on a quest to stop the evil Lavos from destroying the world in 1999.
It has an epic storyline, memorable characters, amazing dialogue, a unique battle system, and outstanding music.
And of course my personal favorite aspect of the game, Time Traveling.
So if you are looking for a great old-school RPG, look no further than Chrono Trigger.

Now granted this speech was aimed at an audience, most of whom had no clue what CT was. So I think I did an OK job at an extremely quick synopsis, and description of why I found the game amazing.

Interesting.

Thanks?

well i see he has been created in 3d a lot.. but i always wanted to do something like this (, Im still going to consider doing him, and the way I visualize doing him it would be a challenge (which i like) whereas the epoch wouldnt be as difficult. I would aim to make him into a higher quality cg character than the magus one also

How about the first battle ever between Magus and Frog. *coughHumancoughGlenncough*

I gotta try.

Well today we got to have a little freedom during speech class, and got to do a 30 sec speech on whatever we wanted.

I chose CT, and while it was extremely difficult to talk about such a great game in 30 sec, I managed to get it in under 40. Not too shabby. Here are a few pics of my visual aid. I know it isn't that great, but I did it in a half hour the night before, and since it was a 30 sec speech I didn't really care. All images courtesy of compendium, lol.

Full view, for scale.

Close up.

Close up top.

Close up bottom.

I liked how it came out so much, that I am going to make a much nicer version, with the same general layout, on poster board, and using outlines for all the characters. Maybe also add a background of sorts, and of course put the names of the characters underneath them, and possibly in letters corresponding to their elements or style.

This is going to be sort of my summer craft, I guess, but who knows, I could get it done much sooner if I get motivated. By no means am I an artist, hence why I used printed out images, but I think if I took my time it could turn out very nicely, and make a nice wall hanging for my room lol.

This thread I guess is to track my progress, and also to post my final product when it is finished. We'll see how it turns out, and feel free to add input on potential ideas, but keep in mind I'm not a great artist, and it is only going to be roughly the size of like a movie poster you'd find at the movie theaters.

Here goes nothin...

Welcome to the Compendium!

Anyone seeing this movie this weekend?

My new wallpaper. Chibi-Glenn and chibi-Magus crack me up!

I love it! They steal the spotlight from Crono, lol.

Hey, we don't know what Lucca could have done during those times she's had to fix him! :P

He's male alright, X_X

Serge and Draggy are adorable honestly.

If there is ever to be another official Chrono game, I vote Charles Park for illustrator - possibly running Akira Toriyama character designs through his own uber stylishness, turning Goku and Bulma clones into pure awesomeness.

As for Chris, he is a very talented artist. I wouldn't mind seeing characters done by him.

I'd say 3 is the best, but best to wait until some others comment too.

I'm no expert lol.

Scythe is made of pure win.

I'm torn on the cape.
Cotton is cool, but I'm curious what a silky style cape would look like.
