Hmm. I had never considered this before. Maybe, I'll get a group going or something.... I'd like to hear any ideas you may have.
At the moment it's more of a range of various ideas floating around in my head, but for some grounding I'd like to look at what you've come up with thus far, and see if I think we should work from there or take one of the various directions I have in my head instead. We should probably work via PM and/or e-mail though, if only to avoid possible spoilage for everyone here.

Alrighty, let me compile my "book" of features and stuff todo, then I can PM it to you.

What I'm wondering is if you need any help on the expanded dialogue and whatnot, such as Robo's backstory and the like, as I'd be glad to help with that if you want. I can't program or do anything else, but I do want to help you out a wee bit.

The frozen catacombs look suspiciously similar to the giant's claw, also, the pallete is a bit ugly in my opinion.

That location is for now, however the exits are rearranged differently. In a later version I will be able to add my own tileset and palette.

Also thanks for all the positive feedback from everyone! It means alot!  :D

I hope that you meant the tech name would just be Ultima, as Make Ultima sounds rather...odd. ;)

Also, will this be an entire ROM to itself, or will it be a patch to be applied? If a patch, would it be compatable with games already in progress in the game or will we have to start from the beginning to take full advantage?

Yeah, I was "spaced out" when I wrote the "Make Ultima", yes it should simply be "Ultima". It would be .ips when released. Unfortunately you would have to start completely over due to the fact that some "useless equipment" got hacked to create new ones. as well as EVERY weapon/armour rebalanced (until I can expand to the total list of items -- if anyone knows how to expand items let me know...) Instead of obtaining alot of weapons all in one part of the game(near the end), they are now spread out from levels 0 to **. (yes it's level 0 now to start)

Masamune II will be even better than before, to balance this, the Northern Ruins dungeon will be alot harder and will probably have a boss. :)

As for Magus, I am making a scythe called "Reaper", description is: "Devours victims soul". Basically if a mob can be killed instantly it will kill them, if not (or it's a boss) it will do alot of damage instead. (not really sure how I am going to make this work yet.)

How long until this is completed?

Seems like you are making great progress, and I am still anxiously awaiting its arrival.

I *want* to say a month. However, I can't really say for sure (due to everything; job, etc), but at the very most it would be 3 months for the first release. (more updates will be done after that into perfection) However, be sure that it WILL be done at some point. This isn't something I am going to drop (especially since I have been working on it for almost a year now)

Wow, great!  Those tutorials are definitely a good starting point and you're right, it is a shame that there isn't more of them!

I got some more tutorials made, but I have to put some finishing touches. Will pro'lly be done in a week or so.

I'm referring to the Wolflobe glitch, explained here: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Wolflobe_Sword.html

What kind of changes to items can we expect? Are we talking more items/techniques can we expect? More techniques? More weapons/other items? Alterations to the stats of weapons/armor? New accessories? Ect ect? Please excuse this attention to sheer detail, but I'm a curious man and I like my info.

Techs:
Dual Techs for Magus
a few examples are Luminare + Dark Matter = Make Ultima
                             Dark Matter + Flare = Shadow Flare

More weapons/other items:
Blades for Crono:
Ragnarok - randomly casts flare (once I can edit sword data) (255 attack, 100 crit, {avg of 4500 damage})
Atom Edge - slice through nearly anything (255 attack, 100 crit., "9999 damage on critical")

Bows for Marle:
Wood bow - her new starting weapon, all her other bows have been rebalanced
Artemis bow - (255 attack, 100 crit, {avg of 2400 damage})

Guns for Lucca:
Zonker38 - random sleep
Doomsday - (255 attack, 100 crit, 4x damage on crit)

Arm for Robo:
Atlas Arm (255 attack, 60 crit, random chaos)


Armor:
Aegis Armor "Ultimate defense" better than Moon Armour
DiamndDress "gives 'Wall status'"(once I can edit random effects and code "Wall" status)


Accessories: (a few of them)
Sprint Shoes - always run outside of battle
Hermes Shoes - always run outside of battle,haste in battle



Other items:
There are random items such as gems that randomly appear in mine/cave areas, herbs randomly grow in some areas and they can be used for various things, there is a chemist somewhere that will combine potions to make other potions. (eg. combine 3 elixers to make a mega-elixer), there is fishing with fishing mini-game in various places that have water. (ex. Truce Canyon..which is now 4 times larger of an area) ...now it's REALLY like waiting for WoW! haha! [/mockery]  :shock:

anyways, those are just a few examples of new items...

EVERY battle will have random drops after battle. :)

Some examples of new/expanded areas:
Truce Canyon - 4 times bigger, now with a mini-boss the first time through  8)
Mystic Mts - There will be an upper canyon that will be a level 65 area. (fight Trihorns{new enemy})
Reptite's Lair - will be completely rewritted and will be MUCH larger.
Zeal Areas areas are expanded (now Zeal is a pretty big area)
North Cape - now fight Beasts and Frost and Flame Beasts (with Mud Imps)
Laruba Village - rebuilds at some point and you can get sidequests for Ayla here
Giant's Claw - now a level 75 area.
Valley of the Giants - new areas with alot of sidequests for Ayla levels 60 to 85
Frozen Catacombs - the new Golem's cave added to Last Village 12,000 BC, 2 different sidequests here. level 60 area.
Sunken Zeal Dungeon - Swimming dungeon
Death Peak - area in Death Peak leads to the "Vally of the Shadow of Death"

"Valley of the Shadow of Death" - Lava cave full of level 85 Lavos Spawn inside Death Peak

"Cleft of Dimensions" - MAGIC ONLY area with super tough enemies (Behemoths and Spinxes{new enemies})
 & and a random OMEGA encounter.  :lol: ...and of course the area is level 92 to **.


...alot more mini-games will be added, every decision affects something other events... so if Lucca rescues Crono instead of Crono escaping the prison; then something else will occur differently later. Another good example would be telling Azala about the Gate Key or not.
...that's just the tip of the iceberg there are also many more items/areas than listed above but those will be a mystery until the mod is released.  8)

I'll put some screenshots up later.

I've got a few questions here:

1. By enhancements to cutscenes, do you simply mean more dialogue, like commentary on various situations, ect, that should have been there but was missing? (By that I don't mean stuff that was cut out, though I would like that back as well. I refer more to simply extra commentary/other stuff that one would expect them to say in situations where the characters were silent.)

2. Do you plan on adding some extra exposition to certain backstories that were not fleshed out, such as Robo, the R-Series, and Atropos' creation and possible lives before the Day of Lavos events?

3. Do you plan on fixing translation errors, such as the infamous Gaspar sidequest bit?

4. Do you plan on adding back Singing Mountain/adding a sidequest for Ayla?

5. Any changes to items or techniques?

6. Care to add a Wolflobe sword for kicks?  :wink:

Heh. I still get the "flash" before the battle. However, the game speed CT seems to run alot better.
