Characters, Plot, and Themes / Magus' Time travel enigma solved!
« on: June 18, 2007, 05:40:32 am »
By popular belief, Magus was searching for Schala in 13,000 B.C. after the CT or is it?  All we see in the ending is Magus was flying over a frigid mountain & there's was no clear indication that he was somewhere in 13,000B.C..  My theory is that Magus never return to the Dark Ages(13,000B.C.) but travelled 5-10 years to the future using the time gate when they go on their separate ways in the ending in CT.  If you notice the mountains behind Guardia Castle(you can see a better view of the mountain in Crono's prison break) bears striking resemblance in which Magus hovers in what you see in the ending.  This theory also solves the problem on how Magus ends up in 1005-1010A.D.

I thought of this theory because its meaningless to search Schala in 13,000B.C. for several reason: 1.) Magus already knew that she could be anywhere in time & its less likely that he'll find her there.  2.)Its useless to find some clues there since Zeal already sink in the bottom of the ocean ages ago. 3.)  It's a big gamble to search her in the dark ages in which he didn't have a time machine or time gate to move to another era. I ruled out magic since there's no solid proof that magic can open a time gate.

Everyone knows that only the entity can make a time gate & only it can determine the final destination of the gate.  Its possible that the Entity sent Magus between 1005-1010A.D. to work in the backround & probably fix the temporal anomaly.

Men of great caliber always work near the sunken Ocean Palace or Lavos since 600 A.D. and onward but why is that?
It is also the same spot that Magus, Melchior & Belthasar work & done their research.   A Temporal distortion also occur that same spot that Belthasar might took interest & inspired to create Epoch.  Strange mutation occur in that area that spawned strange & powerful monsters like the mystics.  Melchior & the mystics forge magical weapon & armors in that same area that outclass all weapon & armors in the Zenan Continent.   I believe that these events & phenomena are too much of a mere coincidence that it's possible that Lavos might have some sort influence occured in that area.

Chrono Compendium Discussion / CT Character's personal data
« on: March 14, 2007, 06:56:01 am »
I'm curious about CT character's personal data like their body measurement, birthday, zodiac sign, origins, likes, dislikes, arm dominance, etc... Can somebody ask Kato about these data? :?

Prior the Meiji Era, a group of samurais called Hittokiri (assasin samurai) had been both employed by the Royalist & those who are loyal the Shogun to assasinate important political & military figures.   I'm not saying that Crono is a hittokiri but his swordstyle remind me of a hittokiri that uses similar style that of Crono.   That stance was design to kill so swiftly that there's little time to react (Crono's critical bears a striking resemblance to that swordstyle too.) Although that stance is common but it has one thing in common... To dispatch the enemy swiftly & decisively.

Magic, Elements, and Technology / Alchemy in Chrono Trigger
« on: December 16, 2006, 05:39:12 am »
Quote
Alchemy is a science where one understands the structure of matter, breaks it down & then rebuilds it.  If used correctly, it can turn plain lead into gold.  However, since it is science, principle of nature still apply.   You can only create something of a certain mass from something with the same mass.  It is the principle of equivalent trade.
                                                                               -Prologue of the Fullmetal Alchemist

Have you ever consider that Melchior makes weapons without a smithy?  If you look at his house you'll only find a study in his basement instead of a smithy.  One possible explaination is that Melchior transmutes a certain object in to weapons instead of making or forging weapons.  If you observe closely about the event the masamune is fix & the only material he use is a mug, a dreamstone & the broken parts of the Masamune.  Lucca's action in fixing the Masamune seems like she's doing a ritual or enchantation proves my suspicion that they are not fixing the sword by normal means.  Another example that Melchior uses alchemy when he transmute the ruby knife into Masamune.
Magus probably knew alchemy when he uses human transmutation on Glenn.  As a side note magic only manipulates the forces of nature while alchemy breakdown matter & then rebuilds it.

Being translated to english is a good thing but there are some things that are lost in the translation.  For instance, Relm in FF6 talks more profanely in the japanese version than its english counterpart or CT's Vinegar, Mayonnaise & Soy Sauce's name change when it is translated to english.  As a fan of many anime & games(especially Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross) may I ask you one simple question. Is it worth the change?  For me it's not, anime & game is an art that needs to be appreciated & preserve its original essences.  The slightest change in dialogs, events or even the change of character's habit & looks will simply loses its original essence & its charm.  I won't blame the translators because they're just following technical & moral standard but I blame the people who makes those standard.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Mystic Eyes in Chrono Trigger
« on: October 31, 2006, 11:10:50 am »
"The eyes are the windows of the soul - Children of the corn"

I've been researching about Magus' eye color why it changes from green to red & I came up with a conclusion.  It seems that eye color  have a connection to how strong the person's spiritual or magical potential.  Commonly the eye color that have red, blue, gold & silver has strong spiritual or magical potential. Take DBZ for instance, when Goku changes to Super Saiyan its eye color changes from black to blue or gold(when he turns to Super Saiyan 4). Another fine example is Lunar Legend Tsukihime, its eye color signify demonic or anti-demonic powers. Another example is Naruto, Hyuga clan's eye color is gray(Byakugan) & Uchiya clan is red(Magenkyo eye).  My observation in Chrono Trigger's Mystic eye color are blue, green & red... Magus' eye change from green to red probably because of his realization from his full magical potential.  Its likely that anyone who has this color has a spiritual or magical potential.

Although my observation is circumstancial but in most cases, anyone who has those eye color has certain advantages compare to normal people.

General Discussion / Can an Otaku ever get a date?
« on: October 08, 2006, 04:08:17 am »
Have only seen the half of Densha Otoko(Train Man) who is an Otaku(Nerd/Geek in japanese.)  He's a loser and never had a single date in his entire life.  One night in the Subway train, a drunk man is harassing anyone in train including the girl he likes.  Then he stood up & told the drunk man to stop it, it stop the man from harassing the girl but instead he was beaten up.  Later on the girl thank the otaku(sorry I forgot the name of the protagonist) for saving her.   Few days later, as a token of appreciation of his deeds he was sent an expensive porcelain cups.  The otaku immediately seek advice from a certain net forum.  The forumers advice him a change of looks & behavior.  Then the otaku ask her for a date & she accepts it.

Densha Otoko is based on a forum log that become a basis of this story. Although most part of the story is fiction, the forum chats is only part that's not a fiction.

Now the question is can a otaku ever get a date?

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Who is King Zeal?
« on: August 14, 2006, 07:03:13 am »
Who is King Zeal? Yes, we all know that he's a great king who rules the Zeal Kingdom with great prosperity. But what is his backround? What is he look like? How did he died? How is she related to Queen Zeal & Schala? What is his full name?  Nobody questioned the profile of King Zeal due to the fact that there are little or no information about him... Even his death bothers me! Think about it, a great king like him doesn't even have a tomb or even a gravesite & the Zealians didn't give much information about him. Could it be that he's the one who's pulling the strings in all the events in CT? I know my assumptions is somewhat baseless but I'm just a skeptic who questions CT universe.

« on: July 10, 2006, 11:08:13 am »
I have play the game & watch the anime. Both the game & the anime has a different storyline. So here's the question, which story is considered as the official storyline of Xenosaga? Is it the game or the anime?

I could have ask in the forums in Xenonation but forgot my password!!!  That was pretty dumb of me to forget my password.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / The origin of Schala's Pendant
« on: July 08, 2006, 05:09:46 am »
We all know how the pendant works but how is it made? What method of crafting that gives the Pendant such incredible power?  The dreamstone alone couldn't possibly give it the abilty to rewind time or opening a time gate.

I want your opinion and theories to resolve this mystery...

I'm just curious... Does Magus' magic is related to time/space magic? If so, does Magus has the ability to travel time using time/space magic?

Please enlighten me....
