Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: The Chrono World

Personally, I've never played Chrono Cross. But I've read that Chrono Cross takes place within a small area of the world. You aren't seeing continents at all, but rather small islands.

According to Time Bastard, the second Janus is thrown to the DBT when he goes through the gate.

Elder: I heard from the Sages-sama that Jyaki-sama hides an amazing magical power that surpasses even Sara-sama.
However, he hates that power, which drives the Queen mad and torments Sara-sama, and together with his heart...
He has shut that power away.

I don't know how accurate this is, but like the translation differences faq on GameFAQS, it mentions that Jaki/Janus is hiding his powers.

The sage told us that Jaki-sama has even more incredible magical powers than
Sara-sama, but he is hiding it.
However, the Queen has gone mad, and Sara-sama, tormented by that power, hates it.
That power is sealed/ seals

Chrono Trigger Modification / Enemy AI Offsets Listing

From I've seen, the AI pointer feature in Chrono Tweaker acts pretty strangely. For example, if I enter in the decimal 1, I don't get 1 when I look later. Instead I get 256 plus another number. If enter 2, I get 512 plus that number (which varies depending on the monster.)

And it only changes one byte of the two bytes of the AI pointers.
For now, you're probably better off changing the AI pointers with a hex editor.

Polling / 3/31/06 - Would you buy a console for a new Chrono game?
« on: March 26, 2006, 10:52:44 pm »
I might, but I'd want to have plenty of money so it isn't a big waste of money. I'd probably also have to buy other stuff to use the console with too.

On the Enemy AI listing page, the last column (containing the enemy ai data) is very thin, causing the amount of space each monster to use in its row to be extremely long at times.

From what I understand, it's because those links are old, and link to the old media domain. But the person who owns the server was unable to reregister, and now the server is at That's why those images link to an ad portal, because there's nothing at that domain anymore.

Phew. It was easy to mix up AI in the previous version. Often the AI would begin before the monster's name on the list. I shouldn't have any mix-ups on this version, unless my eyes look toward the wrong part.

Nice! Now I no longer have to look in the ROM myself to get the AI data.

I like trying to find out how the AI of various monsters work(s).

Chrono Trigger Modification / Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes

I'm pretty sure jsondag2's role in Crimson Echoes is programming various events in the game. He's probably not a storyliner for Crimson Echoes. A while back, the job of main plot development leader was passed on to teh Schala.
