Kajar Laboratories / Re: RPGMaker Question
« on: July 17, 2006, 10:46:54 pm »
Why don't you just make an autostart event which deletes itself once it does everything you want?
And for the character thing, you could also just start the game with a Hero that has NO sprite and later change the hero sprite to what you want.
But for the moving, did you check the passability of the tileset?

to make it full-screen in game, push alt-enter
theres another way to make it fullscreen with a script. Search around rmxp.org and you'll find the script

Polling / 3/25/06 - What do you use the encyclopedia for?
« on: March 19, 2006, 09:19:50 pm »
i use it for the richness and beauty
But I also use it to clarify and confirm some facts so that Chrono Limit, my fangame, will have accurrate information when portraying some scenes in the Chrono series.
The encyclopedia has been very helpful...

However, I lack the experiance to do everything properly
Somebody can finish what i started if they wish...

TOO BIG TO FIT ON A CHIPSET!
are you sure its too big?
the main problem is that the movement would be a little bit buggy but an isometric chipset IS POSSIBLE
if an isometric chipset is impossible, then in theory a picture under a blank chipset too would be impossible
the blank chipset would just create some impassable areas which is exactly what the purpose of a chipset can do (surroundings with some areas with 0 passibility)
so "blank chipset with picture" = "normal chipset"
End of Time chipset is possible (chipset = chipset)

Could somebody please create a spritesheet of Gaspar that is compatible with RPG Maker 2003?
The game only supplies the front view of Gaspar, making it impossible for me to rip his side views.
Also, can somebody else also please supply me with a chipset of Death's Peak, or just a mountain with snow

General Discussion / Whats your Chrono Trigger Story?
« on: March 12, 2006, 03:05:32 pm »
I was only about 6 (or 7 maybe) when I first played Chrono Trigger.
I remember renting it and somehow placing the rom in 2 floppy disks and playing it on my Super Nintedo with something called a Game Doctor (extracts roms from the cartride and copies them to floppy disks to play via game doctor port)
Back then, Chrono Trigger was really hard for me. The game even erased a few times (since the floppy disks are so unreliable) and I only reached to the boss battle with Magus.
A few years later, I remember picking up Chrono Trigger again. This time, if i remember correctly, I was able to get to the Lavos Core. However, I was unable to beat it. Once again, I just stopped playing, and eventually the game save deleted again (floppy disks suck).
Once again, after a few years I bought the PSX version of Chrono Trigger. This time I reached the Boss Battle with Azala. I got bored with Chrono Trigger and moved to different things.
A few weeks ago, I took up Chrono Trigger again. This time, I played it on my PSP with a SNES emulator. I became obssessed with it and beat it under a week. For once, I actually beat the Lavos Core and won. I'm 15 now.
Looking back over the years, I find my Chrono Trigger story pretty strange and somewhat unique. (playing with floppy disks on the SNES?!)
So, whats your Chrono Trigger story?

all you need to do is then re-arrange them into tilesets, character sets and the like.
which is exactly what i don't know how to do

I have managed to remake the End of Time nearly flawlessly with RPG Maker 2003.
I did as GrayLensman suggested, used a background image.
If anybody wants the files for the End of Time, just ask.

seems that i've made a mistake
my current 8 way movement system is already identical to Chrono Trigger's
never realized that there was no special sprite
