From CC, it appears to have been corrupted by evil. But is that the case?

I mean, wouldn't the sword just amplify the emotions rather than corrupt the person to evil? Radius and Dario were warped by it, but was that an effect of the sword or just their unability to control its power?

I'm not sure if its been mentioned, but ancient Christian tradition says that the names of the three wise men who gave gifts of Gold, Frankinense*, and Myrrh* to Baby Jesus, were named Melchir, Gaspar, and Balthasar.

*Terrible spelling

He did in a way, we were transformed from apes to humans because of his power. We became a new race. A "half-finished" one too.

No, they were "apes" they bcame modern humans after contact with the frozen flame. Giving birth to Magic (the non-earth kind) and causing us to evolve. The Frozen Flame was a part of Lavos, and since we evolved via him, and became destructive like him; we became "Progney of Lavos"

Sorry to revive this, but I think that after CC, the dimensions rewound and then the events of RD happened in that timeline.

What about Serge & co though? What kept them from absorption when they fought? Regardless I'll stick with my Magus summoning theory

Then why didn't that happen to Schala? That sort of makes it a moot point.

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Time Devourer question

It Emerged three times.

Two of those times (1999 A.D.; 12,000,000(?) B.C.) He comes out on his own.

The only other time (600 A.D.) is the only time he didn't choose to emerge (sorta)

To me it looked like he was being forced.

Poor Lavos eh? Never gets a break

It looked like it was being pulled into the flow of time. But why would he die? Schala didn't when she got split

Quote from: Majin Prince Vegeta
Quote from: ZeaLitY
The question of whether Lavos spawns are intended to stay on the planet or leave by Mother Brain hinges on this quote:

Listen well, humans.
Lavos's children will one day have to leave to seek new planets, and prey.
This world COULD sustain them... if humans were not around...

Hmm.. I hadn't considered that quote in my theory above. Perhaps then it can be theorized that Mother Brain was influenced by Lavos' power, be he alive or dead by 2300 A.D., to do what she was out to do. Though this may be less likely, I remember reading somewhere a quote proposing tha the Mother Brain had been planning an uprise prior to 1999 A.D. I've also thought that maybe the Mother Brain was like a Neo version of Queen Zeal, as in simply leeching off the power of Lavos and, should it be dead by 2300 A.D., his Spawns for herself and her minions. In this case she may not need a Mammon Machine or anything of the sorts because Lavos would have been practically been hanging out in her backyard, as opposed to being underground. This theory makes more sense to me as to why she'd want to keep the spawns on the planet.

As for the question on Lavos' growth, if we take the picture of the Lavos meteorite vs. the size of the Tyrano Lair and compare it to a picture of Lavos when he unearths himself in 1999 A.D., that may help determine his growth size. The only matter would be to attain that picture.

Mother Brain seems to be acting in the way her...what's the word?  MB is the prototype of FATE. To me it seems they are working for the greater good. Using the "end justifies the means" principle.

It seems to me, that Mother Brain is trying to prevent Earth's fate on other planets by eliminating the need for the Spawn to leave the planet

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Serge's origin / Kid vs. Leena
« on: February 02, 2004, 05:27:30 pm »
Actually, when she says that Serge will be able to live his own life, she (IMO) meant something different.

Think about it. Did Serge want to switch dimensions? Did he want Kid to be poisoned? Did he want to switch bodies with Lynx?

Did he want to kill FATE? Well moot point. After the body switching that one changed.

Did he want the faeries/faries/farys and/or dwarves to die?

did he want the Dragons to merge thus dooming mankind to a terrible fate (No pun intended)?

No. He was forced into all of it. Now he won't have to

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Time Devourer question

When the Time Devourer (TD) splits in Chrono Cross what happens to the Lavos part of it? I guess that the place where it splits, just happens to be where Magus summons him from in 600 A.D.
