This sequence of tweets are a "interesting" review of the game

And this other is a alternate view of all the whole 'Drama', plus some info about game archiving:

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Did I miss out on Lucca's Orphanage?

I've defeated FATE and inmediately go to do the Starky's ship quest.

Now, Kid is not in Hermit's Hideaway and I have no idea why...

Can anyone help me to figure out what i've missed?

But when dealing with general MIDIs with drums it's a pain in the ass to reassign everything (I'm using LMMS as DAW)

I cant wait to see a fixed soundfont for Chrono Trigger. The one by TSSF have various issues and the drums are spread in several different instruments instead of being contained in a single one (by General MIDI standards)

This post makes me more happy about how Chrono Cross was made...  :picardno

DarkShock over at uses MSU-1  to overlay the audio calls with the FLAC files of Blake Robinson's symphony remasterd CT soundtrack

I've used this pack to make a personal remaster before; but i didnt want to make a giant 35mb .flac file to replace a single music (with the same SNES quality) if i could simply inject a 56kb .spc inside the ROM.

Also, JCE3000GT released the "Frozen Flame" SPC from CC to put into Trigger. ...but Im pretty sure his instructed method is just to manually insert it using HEX.  Maybe talk to one of these guys to find out something more?

I tried to follow its instructions, but i became confused of how to fix the instruments of .spc before inject, let alone "browser" the ROM in the HEX Editor.

Also worth looking into is Gi Nattak over at the FF6hacking website. He's a freaking genius with game music hacking, and can more than likely point you in the right direction.

I think i should talk to him. Thanks for the point

Polling / Re: If you could change Chrono Cross, how would you do it?

Use Akira Toriyama's art.

I think this is the best feature of the game: not having Akira's art avoids unfair comparison with Dragon Ball

I'd also be willing to help (financially if need be) to making hard cartridges of Prophet's Guile or Crimson Echoes (im told the CE cart in red doesn't actually finish cause its too big for the SNES chip?)

I think the only way you could get CE/FoE or PG on a cartidge would be via SD2SNES (the one which allows you to play a ROM on a physical SNES using a SD card inside the cartidge, plus it have some "enhancement chips" embbeded, like MSU-1).

FYI, since the devs still havent answered my question, and other members became reluctant to use discord, i created an english-speaking server of my brazilian fanclub on Discord. Its mainly the worldwide counterpart of this: If you want to chat, feel free to enter.

I'm in quertymondo's server on discord, he is the guy improving the Chrono Trigger MSU-1 patch to add support to PS1/DS cutscenes in it, but he need help about some informations about FMVs, such as the placement of the cutscenes - namely in what endings and where exacly the last FMV and Fall of Guardia plays in the game.

If anyone here played the PS1 and DS versions, please contact him via his Discord server at or in forums (the thread about his hack is here).

Thanks in advance!

Since no admins moved or closed the previous thread posted on CC modification by mistake (sorry again) i recreated it in the correct forum.

Since that the only thing i find close to what i imagined is this tool; but its unfinished and it only can change instruments in the same ROM; nothing more. The good thing this is for several Square games, and if anyone could finish the tool a lot of work patching the roms to replace music could be done in a few clicks.

Thanks a lot for that!

Anyway.. did you have interest in join my Chrono Series server on discord? I've created but nobody joined yet.

I could setup a channel dedicated to romhack discussions.
