Someone had me laughing and scratching my head with 'just a random joke' related to a few animes and Chrono series:

Maguts and Spike Spieguile.

Because I know Cowboy Bebop, I know what the second portmanteau refers to. But I don't know what the first portmanteau refers to...until I read some posts from a Berserk fan.

Maguts: Magus (Chrono Trigger) - Guts (Berserk)
Spike Spieguile: Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop) - Guile (Chrono Cross)

The poster just says that this is just a random joke, but this seems to refer to the similarity in personalities between the characters with portmanteau'd names (all ISTPs, but Magus and Guts are darker, while Spike and Guile are lighter).

Mind. Blown.

I've never played Hearthstone, but I always enjoy card games. So, this idea interests me so much!

Oops! Here it is:

The sky had turned dark blue. However, there was no slumber for Guile. Nobody had asked him to watch the night beforehand, but for him, it was his duty. He would not let his eyes shut, nor would he let his head bowed a bit. Pain might jolt constantly from his sore eyes and exhausted muscles, but it would never be an obstacle for him.

Looking at Serge and Kid sleeping soundly on the lush earth, he said in his mind, I shall do my best to protect you. After all, I am the oldest among the three of us.

A quick 100 words drabble I wrote. I initially planned to write this as a Chrono Cross x Digimon crossover featuring Guile and Leomon (Tamers-verse), but writing a one-shot would be difficult (often, it takes at least one week for me to complete a one-shot), provided that my students are having exam and my new semester will start next week. So, I decided to trim it down into just a Chrono Cross drabble consisting of exactly 100 words.

Feedbacks are welcome. :)

However, writing -- even a few paragraph -- exhausts me mentally, and I feel the need to go and sleep (even if I had a good sleep just an hour or so ago).

Does anyone else have the same problem? What do you do to overcome this exhaustion and actually enjoy writing? What advice would you give me?

I often feel the same. I write, but I often feel like losing my interest to continue writing. So, I'll either play games (online or offline), read comics (humor is my favorite), chatting, or listen to music. They generally work for me.

This is a Chrono Cross x Digimon crossover I did for a challenge. It features Guile and Renamon, and takes place before Chrono Cross, but after Digimon Tamers.

Feedbacks are welcome.  :)

First of all, this fanfic isn't mine, but I'm co-authoring for it. The main author is 'Guile Mustang' from FFnet. I've asked his permission to post about it here. More (but probably still under construction) information can be found here:

The story features OCs and the minor characters from Chrono Cross (Draggy, Starky, Guile, Pip, Skelly in the current arc) as the main focus because it is surprisingly refreshing to see a fanfic about the less-known characters. Quick note: the author removes all the strange accents, but the reason will be included in the story. Also, the characters are not behaving exactly like in the canon because we are using our interpretations of them.

Link to the story:

Introduction Arc
Chapter 1: Dream a Little Dream
Chapter 2: Reality
Chapter 3: The Only One?
Chapter 4: To Fight or Not to Fight?
Chapter 5: Out of Control
Chapter 6: A Clue from the Past
Chapter 7: A Question of Trust
Chapter 8: The Growing Monster Incident
Chapter 9: Much Ado about Data
Chapter 10: Revelations
Chapter 11: The Master Explains It All

The Summons Saga
Chapter 12: Brave Heart
Chapter 13: Guilt and Remorse

Sounds like you're making quite the Chrono Cross.

...
Well, Chrono Crossover between CT (of course!), RD (why not?), and FMA (not really, just some references to Mustang, though tempted to slip in the 'Equivalent Exchange'...) for the exact. 8)

Roy may be CC Guile because CC Guile doesn't have any back story. J/K.  Roy's slightly pervy personality seems to be fitting.

Anyway, the theme 'Equivalent Exchange' sounds fitting for my 'novelization' right now. I trim down CC casts into only Serge, Kid, and Guile as the main protagonists and change most of the CC plot to fit in CT storyline and bring back CT casts later on (to tie up another loose end after the Fall of Guardia). Gonna create a thread about it later.

FMA really has an interesting theme! In FMAB, the last few episodes are very dramatic. Never watched 2003 though, because I can't find them.

I'll leave you a long-winded review at FFnet later.  Have to work at this moment.
If you want more reviews, my FFnet profile contains the info about it.

Lol, that would be epic.
It reminds me of that one chapter of your advent calander story where Guile says "A cat, huh? I LOVE CATS!"

I always like inserting Mustang's characteristics to Guile because they are quite alike. Well, if you see Guile snapping his fingers to cast a fire spell and setting enemies ablaze repeatedly, this means that I'm reading FMA manga.

Replaying CT and reading FMA manga while writing a novelization of CC. Hmm... I enjoy the plots that come inspired by my recent playthrough of CT and love cutting down the number of CC casts like a monster but... wondering what if Guile (is Magus in the novelization, main character) ends up becoming 'Magstang' (Magus+Mustang) and comments on Kid's tiny miniskirt (FMA reference)??? Thinking of this makes my day!
