Submissions / Chrono Trigger 20th Anniversary Album
« on: December 18, 2014, 10:17:36 pm »
Hey everyone!
Some may remember me from this site years back, but probably most won't. I ran the semi completed Chrono Trigger OSV remake project on here years back. I'm back, and heading up a planned album release for the 20th anniversary of Chrono Trigger's NA release through OCRemix. I wanted to post here to hopefully generate some interest, and to possibly get some people on board in terms of artwork, site design, and project direction. We are close to being 50% done in terms of arranging/recording. I'm not going to give to much more out at this point in time, but I am interested in making this a community effort to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our beloved game!

Thank you all for all the positive feedback so far. And ya, Memories of green is my favorite as well :)

Well, The release date is not supposed to be till tomorrow, but I decided to leak it to the Compendium a night early (how elite heh?). Here it is, the left over scrapings of a 4 year plan gone sour. The project had its ups and its downs, but overall I can say that I really enjoyed working on this. I had the chance to work with a great deal of pianists of different skill levels. My only regret is that I released it this late, when the once strong Video Game Piano community has now diminished. All that aside, Here it is. I hope you enjoy listening to the tracks on the project. It took a lot of effort and time from alot of people, whom I would like to thank over and over again for their input on this. Thanks again to all who have remained hopeful of a release, today is for you. *DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT AN OCREMIX QUALITY PROJECT*

Fan Project News/Updates / Chrono Trigger Original Sound Version Live
« on: October 26, 2008, 01:01:59 pm »
Hey Everybody,
Well it finally seems that my journey with this project has come to an end. Let's just say that I started this project just before i hit grade nine, and well, i'll be graduating grade 12 this year.
The original intent of the album was to cover every single song on the Chrono Trigger OSV, and in the prime days of this project, we were well over half way to that goal. However, after searching around for what was left, I was able to recover 24 songs. It's not the whole album, but I'd say 24 tracks is a pretty decent release. Now, lets all remember that these are all fan recordings, so the quality of recording will vary between tracks. I've done my best to do a bit of mastering on the tracks, but you can only do so much.
That being said, Chrono Trigger Original Sound Version Live will be released on November 12th, just in time for the DS release. It will have 24 songs and 2 bonus tracks.
I would like to thank anyone again who has remained interested and hopeful of a release over the past few years.
Below you will find a track list, and a sample from the album.

Well, it seems what I did not want to happen, has happened.....
Almost three years ago now, I started on a venture to have an almost "piano collections" type album for Chrono Trigger. The inspiration for this venture came from the internet musician trend at the time, started by people like the Blindfolded Pianist (now the VGP). From the VGP's forums, this project was born and had many musicians in it. It seemed that it would be done within the year. The months went on and with the VGP's forum dissapearence, went the pianists. At that time pianists were hard to find, but I still managed to keep it up. This was followed by the complete destruction of my computer, in which almost all of the songs were lost. At that time, many of the original musicians were gone, and all contact with them was lost, making the retaining of the songs impossible. From there I continued to try and keep the project running, which leads to now.

At this day and age on the internet, the video game pianist base/fanbase is almost gone (compared to what it was.) Finding musicians willing to record large numbers of songs is nearly impossible. So that said, I am discontinuing the CTOSV Live project.
However, there are still many tracks recorded (not as much as I had before the PC collapse.) I will be doing my best to master these and get them into an album of some sort by mid November at the latest. It will feature about 20+ songs, and if I can find any, some bonus material of some sort.
I would like to thank all of you who have kept your interest in the project these past 3 years and who have contributed in any way. A big thank you to Zeality for letting us use this board. I am sorry that it had to come to a close, but as they say "thems the breaks."
Keep an eye out for the remains of the project, coming in mid november.
     Thank you

Hey everybody. For our release we will be needing more than just musicians to complete it. That is why I am sending out an invitation to designers/photoshop artists to help in the design of album art and promotional art. If your interested just send me a PM. I look forward to seeing your work.

Well, its been another long delay, and to tell you the truth, I almost forgot about the project. I was just looking through old files one day and came by one of the songs, which gave me a smile to hear, and I decided to at least get back to work on the 1st album. Basically we only have a few songs to finish on it. After that we just need to master them and finish up album art, and we should have a release, I'm hoping by the end of summer. This will only be part 1 of 4 mind you, so stay tuned. Thanks for all those who have kept the slightest interest.
