So, I'm unsure if this qualifies as fan work, however I truly created it with every intent of reviving the passion and intensity which was once seen in the Chrono series. Anyway, I've everything you need to know about the forum below. Enjoy:

Name: Chrono Theory

Link: http://chronotheory.proboards.com/index.cgi

Activity: None (That's where you come in)

Admin/Mod openings: Several Mod openings, two Admin openings

Plot
As the events of Chrono Cross came to an end, we saw Serge utilizing the Chrono Cross element to dispose of the Time Devourer. Upon having done so, he managed to save Kid. He woke to find himself holding a rather curious artifact known as the Time Egg.

This rather peculiar device allowed for the fast forwarding and rewinding of time itself. Without any general knowledge of how the item worked, Serge abused it to no end. Constant abuse of such a powerful item allowed for a wormhole to appear, almost directly reminiscent to its previous location on Opassa Beach. This resulted in the shattering of the Time Egg, leaving Serge confused as to what had just transpired. Due to his abuse of time, three years have now passed since the incidents in Chrono Cross.

Kid was brought back to present time through usage of the wormhole. She has woken on Opassa Beach. She only wonders if everything has remained the same, not yet fully understanding that she has merged with Schala. However, she and Leah aren't the only ones who have shown up...

Familiar faces from Guardia have began appearing in El Nido. Though, this obviously begs to question as to whether or not Truce can be accessed through the wormhole as well. It can, indeed. However, visiting such a place in the past would surely rupture the timeline. Only those who have entered El Nido know of the wormhole, however they aren't sure of how to close it. Time is of the essence, for if the hole remains open for too long, it could allow many others through and thus heighten the chance of destroying the universe as everyone has come to know it.

Everyone from the Chrono Trigger timeline has shown up after having slain Lavos.

Other info: You can either create your own character or audition for an upwards of over 50 characters.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Your "Chrono" collection?
« on: May 02, 2010, 07:54:53 pm »
Heh, my collection isn't that great..

I've Chrono Cross for the PS, greatest hits version. Though, the original case broke so to salvage the games I pressed them both into one case that is substantially cracked >.< And the first disc freezes sometimes. I need a new copy...

Along with that, I've Chrono Trigger DS. Of which I love, of course.

I also have the OST for Chrono Cross. That's about it =/ I need gear...

I just finished watching the playthrough of CE and I must say, it's amazing. Though, I was a bit saddened to see unfinished credits simply allocating to the fact that the game wasn't completed. I love the Chrono series just as much as the next guy, though I'm even more saddened at the fact that I found out about the C&D letter so late. Crimson Echoes would have made for an amazing interquel, and what's more I believe Square Enix should be grateful to the fans who bought Final Fantasy I and thus, prevented said company from dying. A collaboration project with the CE team? Sure. A remake of Cross or even a new game in the series? Fine.

I'm sure many are tired of seeing people come in late only to complain and or nerdrage regarding the whole incident, but I feel I must at least let my voice be heard, no matter how insignificant it may be. To think I wanted to work for such a company as Square Enix at a younger age, only to witness the monopolizing company worsen their outlook on life much later on. I suppose I need to cut myself short before I rant any further...

Bottom line: You guys did a great job, I'll admit I was a bit lost at a few parts regarding certain timelines and or events which would cancel out other events but all in all, I understood the events that led up to Chrono Cross. Judge me not for the minuscule number of posts I've acquired but for the level of sincerity my words hold.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / Back
« on: April 28, 2010, 11:30:32 pm »
I joined this forum a while back and my activity ceased. So, recently I re-joined with a thought of creating a Chrono series RP board. I believe I've enough information of said series to create a decent forum. However, I can't do it alone. Being that the forum creation is rather one sided, I'd need others who know enough about the series of whom would be willing to help. I haven't got a board created yet, so everything is still in the idea process. As such, I'm completely open to ideas and I hope this thread isn't locked because I'm hoping to affiliate once its actually created.

I just need some help on getting it started. I came here because I'm sure the members here would have a vast knowledge of said series, as opposed to others I know outside of the forum, who know next to nothing about it. So, what do you say?

Chrono Cross Modification / Chrono Cross title screen font?
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:16:34 pm »
This may or may not be the best place to ask this question, but I'm trying to make a title screen for my upcoming Chrono project in RPG Maker and I've been having trouble trying to find the Chrono Cross font used on the game case and seen on the title screen. If anyone knows where I'd be able to download this font, please let me know.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Never Gonna Give Robo Up
« on: January 03, 2009, 03:52:14 pm »
It's been a while since I played the original CT, so I guess I didn't notice before or I had just forgot. I noticed when re-playing it on the DS that whenever you get Robo on your team, the music that plays is similar to "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. I've shown this to several of my friends and they think the same as I do, so if you have a method of testing this or if you can find it on Youtube, please do post it somewhere in this thread so the truth can be heard!

As I see it, there are two ways to begin fan project development -- build a plot and then acquire the necessary resources to implement said plot, or do the reverse and build your plot around the available resources. I take it you'll be using RPGMaker's native resources?

More than likely the latter. Unless of course I want to implement older characters in a flashback sense, or have older characters come in purely based upon the fact that some never died.

Kefka was an insane clown who relied on magic, Sephiroth had superior physical skill and more than likely superior magic. You can't call him a ripoff just because VII came after VI.

Ol' Sephy-head relied on the Lifestream & Materia (i.e. Espers for everything, only lame)...I call them ripoffs because there are a lot of similarities. I've been informed though that it's more like redundancies...

You're still either avoiding the fact or purely missing that VII was after Vi so obviously there are going to be some similarities. Really, the only thing Kefka is widely remembered for is his laugh. Tsk, tis a shame.

Actually, I went over that...that's why I said redundancies...And Kefka is also known for the poisoning of Doma, killing General Leo, killing his former boss Emperor Gestahl, laying the smackdown on the entire planet with the Light of Judgement, having his own cult, and generally being a great outlet of one-liners & the such. He was so awesome, and better than so many other FF villains because destroying the world was entirely possible for him, but it just wasn't his goal. He had far loftier goals than simple world destruction or conquering, he was out to obliterate HOPE itself...

Oh, and how many times was Kefka defeated by a little kid with a stupid weapon called a "keyblade"? Oh, that's right: none.

The only reason Sephiroth was added to Kingdom Hearts as a villain is because VII was the most popular FF in the series, being a mixture of Disney and Final Fantasy, it's imperative that elements from FF are added. If Kefka were so popular he would've been the villain who is defeated by a little kid with a keyblade.

Oh, and obviously you have to understand that to have Sephiroth as a villain in the game, means he has to be beatable, they even limited his power in VII, so obviously they're going to limit his power to a state in which he CAN be defeated.

Sephiroth didn't only want to destroy Gaia, he wanted to destroy other planets as well, though his Super Nova attack showed several planets in the solar system being destroyed, so meh.

Hysteria was the first song I heard by them and ever since then they've been my favorite band. I wish they'd tour in the states again >.>

Muse...?

Black Holes and Revelations = The Essence of Beauty

It was a good album, though I prefer their earlier work. Hysteria is by far the best song they've made IMO.
