We don't have all of these things, such as a pic where it looks like the intro except only Taban's in it and the world is gone(WTF)

I liked the looks of it for a long time.
Then I heard Yasunori Mitsuda did the sound and soundtrack for it and got really hooked.
It has a strong feel of if Skies Of Arcadia, Chrono, and Code Geass all got together and had an amazing child.

The graphics are amazing, specially since Wii gets so much of a bad rep for not being the graphics system. The gameplay is very old school with a small touch of new, that makes it feel like a pretty new experience.

I'm listening to the soundtrack. While not the best work of his, it's still very good. Has a very dramatic feel to it from a lot of the tracks. Of course, I can't find any sources with the FULL thing yet. But from what I've heard, I love it.

At first I thought the lead protagonist was reminding me of Cloud Strife. Then after looking him up on Google, I found he was actually giving me a strong vibe of Cloud's sword, Lelouch's(Code Geass) design, and Renton's(Eureka 7) color scheme. It's not just me, if you know all 3 of the characters' designs, you'll notice it too!

I don't the story yet, since I'm still in training at translating japanese. I'm best at in person conversation, not translating text or video, but from what I've read, it sounds like a pretty strong theme of love exists in here. War, terrorism, at least from what I'm going by. It's got my attention I know.

The game apparantly comes out June 2010 and is from the same group as Sands Of Destruction as well!

So, anyone's thoughts on the game?

Yeah, I know come Monday I'm gonna be heading out to see family, and as for me, yeah, I'm not gonna be on for awhile anyway since believe it or not my gifts for the day have actually left me in the position to be either

A.) Be playing Marvel VS Capcom 2.
or
B.) Be doing ridiculous amounts of research(gift cards to older places, since I'm the old school type like 1940s & earlier).

So yeah... I'm gonna be busy with that. Til then...

Merry Christmas!
Happy Hanuakah!
Happy Kwanzaa!
Merry Ramadan!
Happy New Year!

I understand where you're coming from.
Why else have I not been posting much lately?
That and my scanner is busted(stacks of saved up art til my scanner is fixed).

Well, til you return. Happy morrow to you.

« on: December 21, 2009, 09:44:03 pm »
OK, yes I was thinking of that character.

Yeah, assuming I'm thinking of the same character, I think she'd put up a great fight with Crono! Win against him? I dunno, that's arguable(being the fan I am I'd say no, but hey! That's just me).

But I suppose she's also good... I'm iffy mostly since like I said, I'm not 100% positive I'm thinking the same character.

Don't undecided voters use the same manner of speech?

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Enemies Have Half HP When Solo?

Can anyone possibly find some way to get more than one character in that fight to confirm that?

I'm betting that's the reason(othewiser Serge probably would have quite a bit of trouble at the begining, whereas when you'd level up to meet the massive expectations the rest of the game would be blistering easy).

I dunno...we've certainly established that Cloud can't hold a feather to Crono. Cloud can take a Cactaur, so wouldn't Crono obliterate that thing too?

I think the Tonberry's more likely since, well, yeah...

Huh? what's this?

*Doink*

Nice to see this thread alive again though! Yay!

General Discussion / Re: Video Game Discussion Thread
« on: December 15, 2009, 11:30:33 pm »
Gotta say, always thought it was way overrated. Still feel the exact same since I notice countless flaws with it. But it's much more amazing than I remember it to be.

Currently playing through Final Fantasy VII *hiss* the name that overshadows every other thing Square has under it's belt.
I had read the whole story, watched the whole plot, and knew every last detail of it.

But if Chrono has taught me anything, it's that watching and playing are 2 VERY different experiences. I had left off years ago(since I had borrowed from a relative for a weekend only)just getting out of Midgar on Disc 1. Currently I'm on Disc 2, and...
well, spoilers ahead...

I just lost Cloud when he ditched me to hang with his master, Sephy. Joy. Specially since I'm stuck with Barret and Cait Sith. I spent the game leveling up Tifa(who's being murdered right now), Cloud(already stated), and Aerith. Average level at this point is 36. Tifa was 38-39, Vincent(also unusable at the moment)42, Cloud 42, and believe it or not I leveled Aerith mad. 40. Sounds weaker than the other 2 right? But keep in mind I haven't had her on my party in awhile now since she leaves toward the end of disc 1. The rest of my party was about level 34 when she was 40. Where everyone would die, she would triumph. Thus making it all the more saddening(and admittingly made me cry)when the end of Disc 1 came around and her fate was sealed. I saw it coming, and have prepared myself years for it, and it did squat. I'd put that moment in terms of epicness on par with the Magus fight easily. The rest of the game's events? Meh, not so much, CT obliterates, but that one scene can easily hold it's own with any game(and without that scene honestly the majority of FFVII's luster would be crap covered).

It's definetly fun, however I dunno if it's that I'm used to the analog stick or what, but controlling Cloud in tight locations can sometimes be an extreme pain and he'll spaz out. The graphiocs of the overwrld, even for it's time, seem OK at best and everyone I know(even the FFVII fanboys that are my friends)can agree that they aren't that great. The graphics are much better for battles(I suppose it does add the unintentional effect of the world's look amazing compared to the crappy characters and the battles look great too)and the cutscenes obviously are the main selling point(at the time and even in the future some of the best graphics period).

Overrall though a great game. But as I said at the start, I retain my opinion still, highly overrated and far from the best game ever. It's one of the best, but THE best? Ha!

General Discussion / Re: How often do you swear?
« on: December 13, 2009, 08:25:48 pm »
I swear often but not all the time. Simply because my friends are kinda foul mouthed and I don't realize they rub off somewhat(along with their behaviors, I'm bad around them sometimes I'll admit).

Lately though I've been catching myself doing other things instead unnaturally like rather than drop an f-er I'll say Fut. Or Bit instead of Bitch. Cutting the words short. And something especially recent where if I'm angry, I might not swear but just start talking in an accent not native to my own!

Alot of it though is that my friends can get pretty confused when I speak normally(with abnormally high vocabulary). They'll have me repeat what I'm saying and so I have to talk like a nitwit sometimes for them to understand. Yes, I'm aware my friends aren't the brightest fellows around, but friends are supposed to bring happiness and they've accomplished that for years haven't they?
