I like that two of the arrangements on the album are from Radical Dreamers. (the opening theme and credits theme, the latter of which has lyrics written by Masato Kato!)

Super excited for this!! The Radical Dreamers inclusion is the most unexpected part for me... The fact they finally acknowledge Cross is enough, but they even went through the effort of translating RD too. I'm happy to be in this timeline right now.

I would love to see Crimson Echoes come back. I never beat the game myself, but I did watch the  game playthrough with developer commentary on YouTube (that commentary probably doesn't exist anymore because they were in annotation form )

I remember looking up Flames of Eternity a while back and it seemed like a minor upgrade to CE at the time, were there any major differences between the two other than changing the name?

Really glad to see the site is back. I dont log in or post much anymore, but I still check the site and read it a lot, and was a bit worried this time.   

Same here. I was worried it kicked the bucket, this is easily one of the best fan websites for a video game series out there. (Which is well deserved of one of the best video game series ever)

Also, I feel like doing A Strange Happening was a fun, interesting choice for metal. It's a song that rarely gets covered, and I would wager even less so in a metal style. Nice!

Thanks! Yeah, it seems to be one of the more overlooked songs as far as getting covered. The only other metal cover of it I know of is from the Omen medley on the Chronicles of Time album.

That makes sense. It really just surprised me because I've never noticed it before, even though I almost always use Frog during that part of the game.

Speaking of this part of the game, I only just realized on my latest playthrough that Frog can still equip the Masamune when your weapons are taken, but it's not equipped by default. Was this changed in the DS version or was it always a thing?

News Submissions / Chrono Trigger for Steam!

Chrono Trigger was suddenly released for Steam! But according to this article, it's not very good: https://www.avclub.com/chrono-trigger-just-showed-up-on-steam-but-it-s-a-mess-1823370401

 

It's just a port of the mobile version apparently. Why they couldn't just port the DS version or put real effort into updating the game is beyond me, but colour me disappointed. Here's hoping if ever a Cross remake comes to fruition, that it gets the same great treatment that Trigger DS got.

So Masato Kato wrote the scenario, Yasunori Mitsuda wrote the opening theme, and the game is called Another Eden (pointing at Another World and Sea of Eden)... I wonder what other coincidences will come up.

I never really got around to posting here, so...

Hello all, I'm GasparXR. I've been playing Chrono Trigger for about 10 years now, I have CTDS, and I also have Cross, but my PS1 controller broke so I didn't get to finish it. :V

Yes, I am at the Crisis forums as well, no I did not steal Gaspar's name(he's a very active member over there, and maybe here as well? I don't know), I actually registered before him. Though I did kind of put two CT characters' names together.... =P

By the way, I suck at introductory posts =\
