I think I would have "Edge of Seventeen" as my theme song.

Well. You got the knowledge right there. You can't be afraid of failure. We all fail at some point or another. It's inevitable. It's from those failures that we learn from so we can achieve success. I think you just wanted someone to feel sorry for you, but it's hard to feel sorry for someone who doesn't want to go out and make an effort to change their lives.

Well, in my opinion there isn't a a finite amount of positivity or negativity. So you can choose to be negative or positive. It's your choice. It really is. If you think of all the people out there and their dreams, emotions, whims, and all that, the possibilities are endless and to say there is a limited amount of positivity or negativity is kind of crazy in my opinion.

Look, if you don't want to change yourself. then don't. But if you are unhappy with the way your life is, you need to change yourself and your outlook and whatnot. Not everyone is perfect, and we all need to accept that we have our own flaws. It seems that you are not thrilled with who you are, and if you don't like who you are at this moment, and don't like that person, then you need to change. Change is nothing to be afraid of. You need to strive to be the best person we can be and hold yourself up to the highest standard.

Well, if you don't have much self-confidence, that's something you need to work on and stat! Be happy with yourself and who you are. I know this may not sound easy . . . but . . . you need to like and love yourself first before you can go and start having friends and relationships.

The one thing about friends is there may be some points where you don't talk to any for extended periods of times. Just because you don't talk to them doesn't mean all of a sudden they are no longer your friend. Maybe your friend doesn't want to call you for the sake of talking. As for your ex, don't be talking to her just so she knows your alive and out there.

Well as for putting friends above family . . . that just seriously depends on who that family is and how they treat you. In some cases, it can be perfectly acceptable.

Don't be using video games and writing to escape reality. Doing that only gets you so far, you know. There is only so much you can hide from the past before it will catch up to you. No matter how bad the past is, just accept it, move on and embrace the future, because there's always a brighter future ahead.

Sorry to get kind of soft there . . . but .  . .  that's the best I can say for this.

After the kiss and the fanfare, and I want to turn around and...

The Superman theme begins playing.

Yeah, I'm not a big Superman fan (and the latest really sucked), but that theme is great.

That's not a bad idea . . . I think for my wedding . . . hmm . . . I think I would play the song Sanctuary by Utadu Hikaru. But maybe the Back to the Future theme too, then I could start singing "You built a time machine out of a car . . ." or something.

I'm still working on mine . . . I need to find a new emulator though since on my laptop, Snes 9x is just lagging like crazy and it shouldn't due to the NVIDIA graphics card and 4 gigs of ram . . . but anyways, I'll be sure to post the errors I have found soon.

We are in bad 1985.

A worse version of Biff is running things.

I love the analogy using the Alternate 1985. I'm not sure if it's that horrendous, but . . . we could be well on our way if things don't change.

General Discussion / Re: APEC 2007

I would've thought most American's would've known, as it was held in the US, and is going to be again soon.

Oh well. APEC is Asia Pacific Economic Conference or something, and it's basically a conference where 21 world leaders get together, discuss shit, and dress up funny. US is probably part of so many conferences you guys can't keep count of 'em, while we have one conference, and we lock down Sydney and have to do Geography assignments on it.

Heh heh, well, I never heard of it. There are too many conferences here that there is no way that any American could keep track of all of them. Dress up funny, huh? What a weird conference.

You seriously don't know? George Bush did just go to it

I know I didn't know, so that's why I didn't reply. You should have explained what it was exactly.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I admit Demeria's development was a bit slow, but that final scene makes up for that. As for the characters seeming similar to their counterparts, no matter how much time passes there's always a hint of ourselves that won't fade away with time.

It sure turned out great. No worries there.

This is beyond amazing. Your writing is beautiful. Your word choice is dazzling poetic and yet completely understandable to the point where the image forms perfectly in the mind. Reading it was like floating in the clouds . . . the words flowed amazingly well. It wasn't technical, and your word choice allowed the story to speak more to the heart than to the mind.

"Alphy, this is no way to go through life. You've got to care for yourself. I don't mean being selfish...but you've got to be the emperor of your life, and hold yourself to the highest standard. It's hard to see the big picture...but I'm sure you remember those days of lying around. Remember when we first saw the Shikar instrumentalists? Or walked on the cloud-platforms of Kajar? Stuff like that opens your mind to experiences and enjoyment you couldn't fathom beforehand. I'm telling you that life has a lot more to offer, and it's right around the corner. The best times are always ahead; if you make that the governing truth of your life, then your ascent will never end. Things may seem stale now, but don't ever restrict your happiness. If you suffer...make it tragic, like the part of an opera preceding the glorious resolution. And when you achieve victory...savor and celebrate that feeling like it's going out of style. Let every day be magical, no matter how awful or amazing. In every step you take, and every breath you draw...live."

That above says it all. Those words are beautiful and true. The best times always do lay ahead in the future no matter what ever happened in the past. And the part about being emperor of your life and holding yourself to the highest standard . . . extremely true. Your story was not only interesting, but spoke to the heart and that's something a lot of writers will never succeed at.

That part about about finding your lack of original conversation disturbing is hilarious.
