Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: CT DS - Needed Items [Contribute Inside]

Chrono Compendium... 乙...

8. Commercial

Someone can translate this DS commercial (what's Magus saying?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=695wPKH3ihk

My Japanese isn't perfect, but this is what I came up with:

{
Lucca: Whoa, Crono! It's been a long time, hasn't it!
Frog: Nearly 13 years... You all haven't changed a bit.
Ayla: Huh? What's that white thing? Can Ayla eat it?
Robo: D... S...?
Marle: Hey, it's completely white! Let's go, Crono!

(Coming to the DS, that time-travelling adventure, Chrono Trigger.)

Magus: ... Aren't you forgetting someone?
}

... Marle's excited because it matches her clothes?

Alllllmost perfect, except for Marle's part.  She says 面白そう/omoshirosou which translates into..."looks interesting".

Marle: Wow, that looks interesting!  Let's try going in, Crono!

As far as I understand, the Dead Sea is the new timeline that Crono and the gang created after the finish of CT, from 1999 on (with the assumption Lavos was defeated in 1999).  All of the matter there is under a vaccum-meld-freeze kind of thing because most things are static (the water, for example...), and the whole area is a conglomeration of the whote timeline mashed into one area as a demonstration of what will happen in the future in Home World if Serge does not straighten out the dimensional distortions.

As for how the blackbird scrap would end up in this timeline is a good question.  I'm not sure the ocean palace wreck or the mammon machine would be a plausible cause since the blackbird appears after the ocean palace is destroyed...

I honestly have no idea how it would end there. o_o  But I saw it!

As for who says, "I love you so much. That is why I sometimes desire to smash you to bits!!!"

That was indeed Fate. In a way it was Serge's father but at the same time it wasn't, and all at the same time it is Fate. Let me just explain to lessen the confusion I may have caused.

It may sound strange, but I had the idea that it was the Time Devourer who said it...  The Schala part saved Serge 14 years prior, but the lavos part probably just wanted to smash everything up.  Although now that I read this thread, I'm thinking it may have been FATE.  Just throwing another possibility out there. :3

I hope you're right about that so people would shut up about Dalton being responsible for the Porre-Guardia war.

Can anyone get a screencap of that?  I don't have a PSX emulator : /

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Lavos Spawn shells on Death Peak
« on: March 10, 2006, 11:43:38 pm »
What about the humanoids inside of Lavos?  When Lavos spawned, we don't know exactly what is going on inside their shells; we don't know how developed they are...  Perhaps it takes a fully developed humanoid within the shell to produce power enough in the shell so that if a shard breaks off, it would be something like the Frozen Flame...?

DALTON:

Just went through the Dead Sea again in CC and noticed something rather interesting.  when you head up through the Tower of Geddon, you climb up what appears to be the wing of a plane.  I'm led to believe that this is left wing of the Blackbird.

Why do I say this?
-The wing has top-mounted engines and a walkable surface just as the Blackbird does.
-If you look closely, there's a giant "D" on the wing.

D for Dalton, anyone?  Perhaps he got sucked through the portal in 12,000 BD and into 2400 AD.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / The Hero Medal

Having that considered, here's an even more vexing question:

Frog held on to the medal for ten years.  At that time when you retrieve the medal to perk him up, that means the original gate leading to 600 AD would have then led 610 AD....  I suppose that also applies to all other gates as well.  o_o

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Lucca's mother (Minor spoiler alert)
« on: March 01, 2006, 08:52:04 pm »
That quest was actually the last one I found when playing the game when I first got it...  I probably had the game a few months and beat it several times before I even realized that gate was even part of the game.  Am I the only one this happened to? ._.

It's a quest I always make sure and try to finish up now if I play until the end of the game now because if I don't do it, it nags on my conscience.

Hey, maybe he changed his speech style to impress Queen Leene.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Medina

I actually played through the version for that exact reason.  I should have your answer in a few hours; I just got to Arris Dome...

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Divine Dragon Falls
« on: March 01, 2006, 04:34:57 pm »
Someone jog my memory.  In which world is Terra Tower in?  Was is only Another, or was it in Home as well?  If it's only in Another, there may be a connection since it's the Dragonians/Reptites that the Dragon Tear came from... (Of course I'm not sure how this would explain the tears being in both worlds from the start)

I would agree that because Serge died in Another might be a key as to why the pedastals are present in Another.  Perhaps Dinopolis had a plan to erect them by proxy if FATE became a problem (as it does in Another).  Yeah, it's far-fetched..

Okay I'm confused now, haha.  I though the frozen flame was basically a big chunk that fell off of Lavos?  Isn't dreamstone the same stuff, or am I completely mistaken on this one? :D

Kya!  I should have found this sooner:

Anyway, it does seem to be some kind of underwear, but I'm also highly enjoying the theory of erotic photography, haha.  Thanks guys. ^^

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Naga-ette's Bromide
« on: February 28, 2006, 11:01:10 pm »
Okay.  This has ALWAYS bugged me.  When you go back to 600 AD for the first time to rescue Marle, you can nab the "Naga-ette's Bromide" from a drawer in the back of the cathedral.  I am aware that in the Japanese version it is apparently a piece of clothing and can be exchanged to a pervy old man in Dorino.  But what kind of clothing is it?  Does it really exist?

I consulted the Japanese version of the game only to meet defeat.  BUROMAIDO, they call it.  So that was about no help at all.  I googled it and found bromide the chemical substance, but I don't think that's what's being referred to.

A little help?  Thoughts?  Opinons?  What is a Bromide?!
