It's not exactly finished yet but I got randomly inspired when I saw the preview of Golden Sun DS and wanted to do it :D!  It doesn't really EXACTLY replicate GS's style as the coloring is way off on most aspects, but here's a shot xd.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Attack/Defense #'s in Shop Menu?

I just noticed something, the numbers in the shop menu seem to have like a little VWF routine thing of their own.  From what I've been exploring in the coding though, it's COMPLETELY different on how it's done. - Notice the spaces here, and then notice the spacing in the next screenshot.



How viable would it be to possible route this little routine to all things in any given menu and maybe modify it to have a little more width on the numbers?

I'm jumping in magical joy from the previews I've seen.  I believe the first EP premiers tomorrow in Japan!  So excited for it!  The intro song is amazing as well!  GAHHHHH ASDFKASDJKF

Here's a list of things I have noted so far.

Text bug in the Mayor's Manor.  The young female at the top of the stairs (Place Holder young female Prologue)
Text bug in the Mayor's Manor.  The Soldier up at top (Place Holder soldier Prologue)

Text bug in Millenial Fair entrance.  Talk to the little girl that sells lemonade and the hand covers up the Yes or No options.  Just bump it over 1 more space.

Graphical bugs in Leene Square.  Near the bench by Gato's Exhibit, there's a bunch of odd tiles randomly placed on the trees

I think it'd be best to remove the line for Glenn when he says "Don't you remember?  I hate that formal crap!"  It's not needed anymore since CT:DS got rid of that.  It'd make a little more sense, but that's entirely up to you guys.

Edit: Strange, after I was told to head back to King Guardia to report what happened at Zenan bridge, it just won't let me talk to him.  Everyone else works but the king just sits there like a doll.

- Well, it's based off of Crisis's style a bit, but it's more wild.  It's kind of crappy on the shading, but that's too be expected if it's your first time creating your own style, right?  Well anyways, I guess this is what I have.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Hack Add-On Going To Need Help!

I'm pretty certain most of you guys know about the Schala project and DS project, but the other thing is Chrono Trigger: Ultimte Edition.  It was originally the DS project but we're deciding to expand on this and upgrade CT a bit.

Here's where the problem starts.  One of the options we want to add is a Language Setting.  (Photoshopped) - For example, that.  Except more professional looking.  Now this is where it gets hard.  How will we be able to expand on this to get it working?  I don't think adding the graphic, expanding the box, and having it move over there will be that hard.  In fact, I think I have where most of that is located written down...It's just, how will we make it load what we want, where do we do it, how does it work etc etc...This is why I'm asking for all of massive hackers to help on this.  I really don't honestly think anyone will be able to help, but this is one of 2 options I can think of.

1) As stated above

2) Have a hard-coded variable check on every map.  When the character presses select, it'll load up a dialogue box asking what language they want, and change it to that.  That one is much simpler, but I think it'd look better if we added it in the menu...It'd definitely give this more of a professional feel instead of just a random shortcut.

This isn't really something needed, but it would make everything easier for people.  Plus, I have someone lined up that's willing to help with the translation to Spanish.

Marle and Lucca's areas are now done minus the stat changes.  Working on Twilight Grotto a bit but still having issues layering...layers.

Well, I thought I'd make a separate topic for updates as we'll probably have plenty of those.

Alabaster Shade - Marle: Not complete really, but you can see what's done so far.

Crimson Shade - Lucca: All done minus a few things.  Her stats have to be changed permanently, a hard code memory value has to be added as well which I think I'll throw in Twilight Grotto.  Then there's the matter of Eggterminator and the enemy AI.

Anywho, these are located in Porre.  Feel free to check them out.  We still have to get the overworld graphics working though.

Edit: Well that's odd, my IPS patch came out 4 megs O_o

Edit 2: Here's the IPS patch for what's been done.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Stats --> Memory Question

I'm trying to store Lucca's Speed/Stamina/Magic stats to storage and increase them once you do that event, but it doesn't quite work.  I believe I stored Stamina 7E26A0 to 7F020A and when you beat the boss, it does 7F020A +=.  Butttt...I don't know if I'm doing this right.  I also heard that once you level, it'll completely null the stats >_<..

Chrono Trigger Ultimate Edition / Introduction

Edit: Faustwolf is my Dream Devourer hero D:!

As stated, this project will incorporate playable Schala once the 8th character is playable.

Here's a list of features that we want into this.

1) VWF Font - (We must get it to work in battle monster names so then we can fit any monster name, other then that, it's done)
2) 6th Letter - Already In
3) Schala - 8th Playable Character - Needs to be finished first
4) CT:DS Events - These are in the works.  There are some troubles right now but it'll be fixed up later.
         ~Unused Lines - Thanks to Vehek, we have a few unused lines being used in this to give the "Shade" areas                              more...emotion per say.
5) Possible 14th Ending  - Maybe where you DO save Schala?
6) Possible Re-Retranslation - Possible use of the DS script.  I don't think we will though.

There's probably going to be more, but I can't think of any right now.  Feel free to add-on or comment everyone!

Chrono Trigger Modification / Overworld Sprites? - Questions

I'm wanting to add more things to the overworld to make it more dynamic and as I was going through, I noticed this.

"05D80B   05DA87   GFX   Y   "Overworld sprites: Placeholder graphics, ""?""" (Unused)   2006.12.20" - The only present graphic in there is the ? time box but that's in "05DA88   05E0F6   GFX   Y   "Overworld sprites: Bird, years, Epoch, and misc"   2004.04.28" as well and when it loads up, it's used by 05DA88.

I was wondering what in the world tells what to load what sprite up.  I noticed that some overworlds have like

(5) -
6 - Every overworld has this for years
7 - Every overworld has this for PC's?

That's 1000 AD, but then others like 2300 AD, 65,000,000 BC, and 1999 AD do 80 instead of whatever # is second.

1) I was wondering, is there like...a way to define what sprites are what?  It's really strange as well when you try to change the time box as well.  It completely jumps over the entire empty slot and goes to the Epoch/Ferry graphics.

2) Is there a way to define how many frames per graphic are used as well?  The seagull has 3 frames if I'm correct, while the Vortex PT graphic has like 3-6 or something.  I'm completely lost as where this stuff is loaded at >_<

Chrono Trigger Modification / Possible Enemy AI Help?

I've been wanting to make Marle Lucca Crono Robo..etc..aka the whole party as enemies for kind of a little battle test thing, but I've been having issues somewhat with enemy AI.

I was wondering, is there anyway they can load up the PC's weapon graphics for attacking?  Like...Marle enemy would actually shoot the graphics of Marle's arrows?

I've also been having trouble with their graphics as well.  When they attack, they go into a running pose and blah.  It's like they're backwards >_<

Sorry for all of these questions lately, I just want to get all of this stuff noted for future references.
