Chrono Compendium Discussion / The site keeps logging me out.
« on: September 02, 2005, 02:36:09 am »
I have not changed my cookie preferences. Nor have I tinkered with my security software. Nevertheless, as of late, I have been required to log in to the Compendium virtually every time I visit, even after I specifically allow the site to "remember me." Any ideas on what might be going on would be most appreciated.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / In search of a comprehensive list of time travel goofs
« on: August 20, 2005, 06:23:37 pm »
I would like to dedicate this thread to the accumulation of all quirks, queries, and quandaries that present themselves in the Chrono series. If you wish to contribute, please list all of the time/dimensional travel plot holes (be they major or not) that you have noticed or that you recall being discussed on the Compendium. I request that this thread not be used to discuss the problems. (If you cannot resist, please form a new thread!)
This compendium, if you will, should help me out greatly in ensuring that my framework has got everything covered. Thanks!

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Conceptual Framework of the Nature of Time
« on: July 03, 2005, 02:57:47 am »
I have done it. After a series of sleepless nights, I have formulated a conceptual framework of the nature of time that incorporates all aspects of the Chrono series universe, including multiple timelines, the darkness beyond time, the end of time, time games, and the transcendental nature of various entities and locations. My framework resolves virtually all of the paradoxes inherent in the Chrono series. (Admittedly, the resolution of the Guardia royal line paradox complicates matters slightly, but not to the point of inelegance.)
What remains is for me to write down all of my thoughts in an organized and concise manner. I will soon post my axioms, corollaries, and definitions concerning the nature of time, space, and events. If the feedback I receive is positive, I will continue to expand my work.
Stay tuned!

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / *When* is the Entity's consciousness?
« on: July 01, 2005, 08:24:43 pm »
The Entity clearly wishes to change the course of history. But how much of history has the Entity experienced? Is the Entity's consciousness in Crono's time (meaning that the Day of Lavos is just the probable future)? Or is the Entity's consciousness actually in Crono's future, years after the day of Lavos?
This may seem like a trivial question, but it isn't. If the present for the Entity is 1000 A.D., then the Entity has a motive to alter the past: to avoid the Day of Lavos. However, if the Entity's consciousness is actually in Crono's future, why would the entity even bother to send Crono on his journey? Wouldn't Crono just save an alternate timeline and, in doing so, send the Entity's consciousness to the DBT? Now, before someone argues that the Entity's consciousness transcends all timelines, let me ask this: Why is the Entity so eager to save Crono's timeline if there are bound to be many others (an infinite number perhaps) that are satisfactory to the Entity?
I have a follow-up question, too. It seems to me that the Entity is capable of doing more than just creating time gates. For instance, the consensus here is that the Entity is responsible for Marle's temporary disappearance in 600 A.D. But if the Entity has that power, why not send Queen Zeal and the Gurus to that demension and avoid the Day of Lavos altogether?
Forgive me if these issues have already been discussed and resolved; I am new to the Chrono Compendium.
