Chrono Trigger Modification / Debugging help needed
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:25:36 am »
Basically I'm looking for the disassembly data for that glowing rectangle that appears around characters when you're choosing commands. What I want to figure out is the calculation for how fast it pulses. I know next-to-nothing about disassembly, but I know this should be possible to discover - if not by someone else, could I get some instructions/guidelines to figure it out for myself?

Chrono Compendium Discussion / RSS Feed

I've got the RSS bug lately so I'm requesting that the Compendium puts up a feed with the latest news/updates. It's just so damn convenient when you can look at your bookmarks in Firefox to see if there's anything new, without having to visit the site.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Chrono Trigger sound effects
« on: October 22, 2005, 07:27:47 pm »
Ok, I'll cut to the chase. What I want is all (or as many as possible) of the sound effects from Chrono Trigger. Is there some easy way to rip them? If CT had a sound test it'd make this a whole lot easier.
At the moment, I'm trying to use ZSNES to (try) and rip them by getting at the exact location it starts and saving the SPC data. Then using Winamp to output to wav (disabling the channels I don't want), then editing in cooledit. It's very difficult though, and I thought there must be an easier way.
I've looked through the sounds on the PSX version, and it has some sound effect samples, but not other sound effects, leading me to believe that they are sequenced (hence my being able to rip them to SPC).
Perhaps there is a way to do it in temporal flux? If I could grab the raw data, what format/bitrate would I need to specify (ie. what is the output of the SNES sound chip)?.

Help please!
