News Submissions / Newly Found Hidden Cutscene?
« on: July 27, 2016, 07:29:13 pm »
Long time no see, Compendium.
I was scrolling through /vr/ (4chan's retro video games board) and someone had created a thread asking about a peculiar cutscene he had triggered as a kid. The poster made a video demonstrating how the glitch worked and what the cutscene looked like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQsxrUODzqs
I looked through a bunch of different fansites, especially the Compendium's...compendium, seeing if there was some documented explanation of what's going on here, but I couldn't. The closest thing to an explanation I've been able to find is from the thread itself, where one dude wrote:
I have no idea how trustworthy this anon is, but the whole thing caught my interest.
Any idea what's going on here?

This is actually quite old. It's really a scene from The Prophet Seeks, but the event flags not being set cause it to not load the credits it's supposed to scroll, and for the subsequent "Magus flies down the shaft" not to work. It's a side effect of a location being replaced with an ending cutscene between versions.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / And that's my cue to exit...

Happily enough, I'm not leaving due to an argument with J or one of the other Compendiumites, as was half expected. All the same, I must bid you all farewell. I'm...simply not feeling it anymore. My most recent post amounted to all of a link, and the phrase "eh...humanism." So yeah, I believe my work here is done. I'll probably return if/when something major regarding Chrono happens. Until then...
May you all live long and prosper, in the Springtime of Youth.

Associate Reformed Presbyterianism, to be precise. Does anyone know what exactly the ARP believes and on what side of the liberal-Christian, conservative-Christian scale their on? I sat through one of their services and couldn't really tell, and unfortunately, Wikipedia's rather evasive on the specific dogma.
I figure we have at least 4 people who know a great deal about various sects, so...yeah.

I'm moving into my dorm tomorrow, and until Wednesday I have my Freshman Orientation(not really looking forward to that). They made it pretty clear that they're expecting us to have no free time outside of sleep for it, so I'm gonna drop off for a few days. After that, who knows what'll happen with my schedule, so I'm anticipating at least a week afterward of limited contribution(I know, most of you must be devastated).
Anywho, thanks for making my summer a blast guys and gals! Thanks for Crimson Echoes, The Springtime of Youth, and for welcoming me tot he party!

I've got a missionary trip to Kansas and Oklahoma to help some people who've been displaced by tornadoes this past year. To my knowledge, we'll be working in co-op with Habitats for Humanity, or some off-shoot of it. I'll be offline starting tomorrow.
It's a non-proselytizing trip, just so you know, and I'll probably be back theweek after next next week(EDIT: I misworded that).
Until then, guys!

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Does Gaspar Age?
« on: July 02, 2009, 09:08:10 pm »
I thought for sure that someone would've asked this question by now, but going back through all 17 pages of this section of the forum, I found three threads relating to Gaspar in anyway, but none of them answered this question.
So, since Gaspar lives at the End of Time, and time can't possibly flow beyond that point, does he refrain from aging for all eternity?
Or, does his body still experience the flow of time? If so, then isn't the End of Time not really the End?

The second triad seems to have come to a close. He passed away from his long battle with cancer yesterday.
He was 66.
