General Discussion / Final Fantasy 12
« on: March 26, 2007, 02:06:25 am »
I just bought this game, and I was wondering if I wasted my money or not. Because so far, aside from the redone FF4 music at the begining, and good opening cutscene, which me liked, I'm getting very bored. Is it worth it continuing this game, or is it going to end up like FF8, where I just decide to stop midgame because I don't care anymore?

General Discussion / Favorite RPG Moment
« on: September 22, 2005, 08:15:35 pm »
Okay, post here about your favorite moment in an RPG. Some scene or event that happens, that you feel is the best part of the game, or defines it best, or what-not.
Mine is in FF4. The Giant of Babel. You have been fighting to keep this from happening. But it does. The Giant comes out, and starts blasting everything! Were all doomed! Then something shoots the Giant. The Red Wings music starts playing, and the Dwarves' Tanks and Baron's Airships come out. All the sudden, you can do this, taking down the Giant isn't impossible, you have hope! The Tanks and Airships battle the Giant, allowing you to go inside. Thats one of my most favorite moments in an RPG.

Magic, Elements, and Technology / What makes someone an Innate?
« on: August 14, 2005, 12:27:30 am »
What I got from Spekkio was that everyone could use magic, and the frozen flame evolved the human ablitiy to use magic. But that brings me to my question: In other threads, I see people talking about Person X being an Innate, different from Zealians, who simply relied on the Mammon Machine. But what makes someone an Innate? What does that actually mean to be an Innate?

Chrono Trigger Modification / need some spritesheets
« on: July 10, 2005, 07:45:50 pm »
I was looking through the encylepedia, getting some CT sprites, and 2 sprite sheets I was looking for weren't there. I need the Crono sprite (I was suprised this wasn't there, as the link is broken), and The Prophet sheet. Thanks in advance.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Time Traveler's Immunity
« on: May 16, 2005, 05:06:20 pm »
I got a question about Time Traveler's Immunity. I understand that if a person goes back in time, and changes it so that the said person cannot exist, will still exist, because of Time Traveler's immunity. Now, heres where my question comes at. I'll give an example for it.
We have a person, PersonA, who lives in 1000ad, timelineA. PersonA then travels back in time to do something (anything), and is protected from any changes due to his TTI. That person then returns in to 1000ad, which is now timelineB. He goes about his life, to, for example, 1005ad, timelineA. Lets assume that one of the changes that resulted from him changes time allows for the creation of a new person, PersonB, who is created at a date after 1000ad. This person then time travels backards to 1003ad, and murders PersonA. Would the PersonA that existed in 1005ad still exist, due to TTI, in this scenario? I'm thinking that PersonA would not still exist in 1005ad...

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Question about time traveling...
« on: April 08, 2005, 11:57:27 pm »
starx posted this on GameFAQs, which got me thinking:
"If you were to say what I think you mean, then the moment Marle even time travels, some of the future would simply vanish, as when you travel to the future, the citizens there are not time travelers, thus they will not be immune to its effects, as the game already stated."
How would you guys address this? The moment some in the past time travels to the future, the past is change, and the future is put into the DBT. Well, under this logic, Marle time traveling to the future should have made Doan not exist (since he is her descendant). Well, Marle would go back to the past latter on, and that would make Doan exist, right? Well, if it works the way I though it did, Doan would not start existing again until after she actually when to the past.

anyway, its the new site, with the articles and such list out, but its not linked to the main site. the articles link on the front page goes here:
http://chronocompendium.com/articles.php, calling it work in progress. any chance on this being change in the near future?

History, Locations, and Artifacts / The Catalyst of CT
« on: March 27, 2005, 12:22:40 am »
We know orginally Crono and Co. were not supposed to go on their quest and defeat Lavos, because of the destroyed 2300 future. Thus, their first apparent change in time we see is Crono bumping into Marle. But what exactly caused this change in time? Was it the entity? Or chance? I don't like the idea that it was simply chance, as then things get way too complicated. It may have been the entity, but how did the entity effect the situation enough to cause this seemingly minor change that changed the course of history?
