General Discussion / Should I file a lawsuit against Vgmusic.com?
« on: December 31, 2009, 04:21:56 am »
I have edited this like a gazillion times as the first message was much angrier.

I am willing to go thru the necessary paperwork to file a claim against being falsely banned  and them not accepting my apologies nor giving me proof on why I was banned so I feel very cheated.

Short version of the long epic story:

Am I the ONLY one to be manhandle by the uncaring staff at vgmusic.com?   :o  :?

Here's what happened:   I find thread for a program/software called OPEN SPC and tried to seek/ask information about it as there was very little to begin with.     Mostly talk about soundfonts that never got anywhere. :P

Staff member decided to have a emo problem with me and then falsey accuses me of stuff that is untrue so I get angry back and get banned and I don't even remember what I wrote back except a threat which I won't go into here.

Staff member won't accept SECOND  apology and instead get's angrier which makes me angry/depressed.   :picardno

No I won't name who it is in case it makes the case go against me even more as I am paranoid about my rights.  :picardno

Edit:

Do I even have the right to file a lawsuit against a website and if so what are the necessary steps needed which I will ask dad to help me as I am not a driver......................yet and have to rely on his screwed the *beep* up schedule.

Should I just wait and hang on till I can drive myself when I get my full Class C license to get to court? As I think courthouses also have screwy courtdates and I don't want to put dad thru any more burden then he already is going thru.

Should I even threaten VGmusic.com with a lawsuit in order to get the proof I need or will that hurt my reputation more then it already is making a bad case go worse/to pot and thus losing my chance?

Never mind my thread due to my opposite curse.
I have an extremely powerful spiritual entity mad at me and is going to stop at nothing to ruin my life and OTHERS with the 'opposite chaos curse' as I dubbed it until I either A:  Kill myself or B: Go so mad with frustration I get put away in a mental insitution which then I won't have access to the internet  Aka Chrono Compendium unless I hack into the Warden's computer somehow and that will never do.

I am an extreme danger to all of the Compendiums on here every single time I post which can be monitered by said enity so I am going to do favors to God and end my life as I am also an enemy of heaven which is a long story I refuse to post on a public forum but the basic charges are for Blasphmey.

I have extreme *spiritual* warrants out for my arrest and I want to get my problems *over with* so I won't put people like you in any more danger.

I will be lucky to even get a fair trial when I die as a result of what I have done as it will be more then I deserve.  :picardno

The only reason why I am saying this is so my thread will hopefully get deleted and shredded before the spiritual deity takes control and tracks/hunts me down.

General Discussion / The Commodore games/programs thread.
« on: December 26, 2009, 07:30:32 am »
What games and programs has anyone used on Commodore 64? which was the first computer which went below the magic 1,000$ mark and could do more then the PC at the time.   8)

PS: You can also talk about the Commodore PET computer that was used in schools often.

Edit:  Guess my post was too long.

General Discussion / Websites that make you go "What the hell?"
« on: December 19, 2009, 12:06:31 am »
What are the top 5 most strangest/awkward sites or the most annoying sites you have ever been to while surfing the web?

Mine are usually sites that only get partially updated and the author takes off like he/she has been raptured by God and no one seems to notice.  :shock

For me it's sites with fan games/fan fiction and also soundfonts which can make midis sound better then the crappy/stupid sound board you're computer likely comes with.

WITHOUT BREAKING THE LAW!!!!!

I know two rude websites that treat people like complete a pile of.....you know what but first I'll make a simple version of my message for those on here who have ADD and can't read properly :picardno as I want to get these websites to change for the better:

City data is well known to suck and treat members like puppest on a string and vgmusic dot com is a mix between communist/facisim/dictatorship all rolled into one unit leaving a very empty feeling if you have seen the pervious versions of the forums.                    2.0 and 1.0 which I liked 2.0 the best.

The first/Uno site is city data dot com  *A place and forum that talks about relocating/moving in the USA* and is the largest on the internet/WWW

There also was a HUGE/HUMONGOUS discussion was about on Topix.com and I even joined in the conversation which I was one out of 200 people talking about it and how the website is one-sided on how they treat people who aren't liberal  :x  though I have NOT yet been banned there.

Here http://www.topix.com/forum/state/co/T9SAT72F217RVP68C  *Turn down the volume due to an annoying ad which you may need to refresh to concentrate on reading*

I personally don't like Repulicans AND Liberals combined and both make me sick to me stomach. :P

There are HUNDREDES of people that have spoken out and there even is a sister website that a bunch of people made:

Another/second one is vgmusic dot com which is a video game music site that has been around for 10 years and has fallen down the tubes in terms of quality of midis and staff to user interaction in which I lurked/snooped around a bit and later joined which I VERY MUCH regreted later.

They are I think on version 4.0 on their forums and each one sucked worse and worse in general in all areas:

Don't even get me started non how the wish list NOW sucks when it DIDN'T used to before their last updgade.

The wish request section people used to get responded/replied to alot in version 2.0 and earlier even if the composer COULDN'T make the midi file right-off-the-bat which is often the case as midis take a VERY LONG TIME to make.................................if you want a top quality midi

Now a days the wish request section is full of request from obsecure games that never made it on the *popular* list while the *popular* section still has tons and TONS of gapping holes that need fixin.

I think I am going to start an entire new thread that describes the top 10 suckiest/stupidest websites that make you laugh/feel disgusted for even looking at it as those kind of people deserve to have their little cover blown aroud like tumbleweeds.

General Discussion / Games you LOVE and remember from the 80s to mid 90s
« on: December 11, 2009, 10:56:34 pm »
The Golden era!

What games do you remember from the early 80s to the middle 90s before the 3D war and the meaning of hardcore gaming changed?

My favorites were from the top of my head and I'll start with the good ol Commodore 64:

Tink Tonk Series by Mercer Meyer and Sprout:

Tink Tonk and the land of buddy bot: *Adventure/Edudainment*

Tink Tonk  Goes to Town:   Adventure/Edutainment

Super PipeLine 2 C64  *shoot em up/Action*

Unspeakable Violence:  *Blow em up/Action*

King Tut's Tomb:

A collection of mini-games where all I remember is one of the mini games there a haunted house/mansion  you had to navigate thru and if you go/wind up at a dead-end you come up to a ghost which I think kills you but I was very young like 5 and didn't understand what to do so I dont' remember the rules of that game.     :(

Another mini game you had to collection diamonds in this pyramid where you are running and there are bad guys after you or something:

    I only understood simple games.

Another C64 game was a 3d pyramid maze which was MUCH more slower paced and you had to go/walk to the top of it and I can't remember why but I was fascinated with the graphics as it was above average and the mazes where long with alternate paths and traps.

Edit: If you went outside of the pyramid you could see an airplane and explore outside a little bit

I'll explain more later which may not be till after this weekend if we wind up with a major ice/freezing rain storm here in Oregon and have the electricity cut:  :(

PS:  Does anyone know anything about the King Tut's Tomb games that were in it?

General Discussion / What's the point of apologizing anyways?
« on: December 08, 2009, 02:17:50 am »

http://blog.penelopetrunk.com/2007/04/27/send-etiquette-for-apologizing-in-an-email/

Why is it when if you said/did something you later regret and you try to humbly apologize to the *victim*  he/she shoves you aside and doesn't take notice and later considers you still rude if you attempt to further make contact?

I've seen this on all sides/angles but mostly people who are higher ranked/positioned seem to push people who apologize aside as trash even though the actual infraction was small something like a 'Misdemeanor* as a 'civil offense' on a forum.

What does it mean?

Seriously people aren't perfect and we have our days and I certainly try my best to get out of those moments instead of screaming and ranting/name calling with all caps......................LIKE THIS!!! :o     Doesn't that hurt your eyes?  :?

You know you spend too much time on Chrono Compendium when

1. You can't stop thinking/dreaming of getting the 1,000 post count on your avator.

2. You can't wait to be a mod so you can edit/lock topics for the slightest infraction even though in reality Moderators shouldn't just stick to playing 'Sherriff' according to blogs on how to run a successful forum.

3. You make topics similar to the one I just posted.  :P  :picardno

Any other ideas and remember if it's naughty on the SNES it's naughty on the Compendiumtendo.  * Chrono Compendium*    Eh you get what I am saying right?  8)

General Discussion / Thank God Chrono Compendium acts like this below.
« on: November 19, 2009, 08:40:04 pm »
I bolded a few important parts on this article from this website about moderating which so far Chrono Compenium gives tone number 1 which is a good thing.   No?

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum103/336.htm

Moderating a forum is very important because the moderators and site staff basically set the tone of the community/forum.
Let me say this again, the moderators set the tone of the forum.

What is the tone? The tone is the feeling that your forum gives off. Some are warm and friendly, some feel professional, some feel like anarchy and others have no feeling at all.

The tone of your board is SO important because once the tone is set, the members and new members will be people of that flavor.

So how do you moderate without being a moderator? You moderate by setting an example.

I will give you 3 examples:

1) Webmaster World: This board feels professional, and very rich in trustworthy content. Why? The mods/owner are professionals. They contribute to the site useful information, and over time repeat visitors HAVE to have realized that what they say is credible and usually correct.

The members who post at Webmaster World generally present useful information or logical questions that can globally help the webmaster community. Same with responsive posts.

2) Board X: The board I am using here I will keep anonymous but I have watched it since its inception. The mods attack 'stupid' members...Even goto the length of drawing cartoons of them. The site admins remove people's posts without warning, ban people for saying something negative about their staff and finally edit posts. I am not talking about <snip here and <snip there>, I mean that user posts are actually changed to false information.

Now the resulting community that has come about after 4 years is exactly the same. They have been raised that way and will continue in those patterns. People who try to conduct biz on this board get flamed and its all together just a dramatic board.

Basically a community and forum are the product of the administrative team. Its almost like a baby that has to be raised a certain way so that it can mature on its own.

When moderating a forum one needs to think this way and understand that his or her actions are watched and will in some ways be repeated and used as an example for how to act.

Here are a few pointers that will REALLY help you put together an awesome group of people:

-Edit posts ONLY when 100% necessary. People do NOT like to have their things messed with.
-When you take an authoritative stance at someone, do NOT publicly ridicule them, but instead publicly express the act that is in violation. Then take the time to contact the member and explain the situation in a friendly tone. If the offense was critical then of course remove the person and posts.
-Give the members freedom. What does this mean? The environment of a forum should be open and allow members to express their points, no matter what it maybe.
-Listen to members and react to their feed back. It really shows that you care when you consider someone else’s idea and act on it.
-Use a filtering system to create NEW forums and expand the community reach. For example, look at how the forum Community Building area was developed. There were a lot of discussions popping up regarding forums, and BAM the area was created. When you do this it allows people to categorize their ideas and threads more accurately and shows that you are building the community and expanding.

If you have more, please add.

I have gone to Video Game Midi website   and they seem to be a mix/combination of  3 and 4 execpt the music composition section which the members their are decent and generaly get along with each other but the staff are another story and they seem to have a *yes* group with a staff buddie system :picardno

Can someone please set/ the Video Game Midi website *I am sure you know which one I am talking about* their priorities checked?

Their music wish request is a complete joke and chances are high you'll never get a reply which DIDN'T use to happen.

General Discussion / Fanfiction graveyard.net?
« on: November 16, 2009, 02:02:16 pm »
I've seen reviews where people go there and they say all the stories are crapolla so here is how to begin the spring cleaning for those who are new and want to navigate/scroll through the pages with pleasure and with a compass.

What do you Compendiums  think/consider if Fanfiction.net finally made a site where they move all the old/dead stories that are on there to an archive server in order to clear out unwanted crap?

Including ones on Hiatus unless the author makes an update which then it will be moved back to the main server for everyone to see.    8)

I bet you the huge/number count story archives would be down by at least half then currently and this will just be the beginning of the spring cleaning.

IT'S PERFECT!!!  8) :D

Unfortunatly The Chrono Trigger/Cross section will be down/gone by more then half as most of the stories are either on hiatus or dead and then when the said authors decide to make an update the stories will be transferred back to the main site via archive staff/mods.

Right now the mods there are generally a joke and should not even be dealt with. :P  :( :picardno

If I knew a decent amount of HTML and had references to the staff there I'd try and do it myself but the people in charge are usually/mostly unreachable or act like robot mods when they are.

*You walk in and you see a notice nailed on the door*

Disclaimer:   Please DO NOT use this as a VS thread!    I have lurked at other forums and anytime a VS thread pops up it usually results in an endless fight or people being sarcastic with each other and you wind up not knowing facts vs opinions. :picardno

Let's not get this thread shut down all right?

I use Internet Explorer mainly for flash/java activites as Firefox does NOT support Flash or Java I found out but it may be Vista since I haven't add any new drivers since I bought it.

When I try to use Flash or Java on FireFox after I download it it says there is in error and I can't do anything.

I like how FireFox downloads work faster and FireFox doesn't hang/crash as much as Internet Explorer.   IE acts like it's still in beta mode.     *axe falls on Triforce*   http://www.smileyhut.com/naughty/axe.gif

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Your first RPG?
« on: November 02, 2009, 05:37:56 pm »
What is your VERY first RPG you've either owned or played?     Mine would be Super Mario RPG when I was in Middle School and it was a VERY different experience then action/adventure.

12
 :?   Does anyone know why on Google Earth when you view street view photos after a while the program locks up and suddenly stops responding as you are driving down the street?

I tried looking at Google help support but their help  team is quite a joke and not worth your time!   :P   :picardno

13
What do you think would be in each games  if Squaresoft purposely did it for Windows 98 right after Cross was relased for PSX?

Would the Trigger CD come with Radical Dreamers as a pre-order bonus or as an unlockable feature?

This is your thread to discuss things not mine.   8)

Good night: I am getting Mr Yawn again.  :(

14
Just like the title said.
I found out last fall when I was VERY bored I found out onyoutube that people remade Chrono Trigger songs on Mario Paint and some of them are actually very well done.  8)              I believe I was searching for the basic OST and found the links.

From reading youtube comments I found there is this niffty program called Mario Paint Composer and no I don't know when it came out which I discovered around Christmas time last year.
Well one thing lead to another and I found out a wide variety of video game songs have been remade using the tools on Mario Paint.

MPC also has expanded the # of instruments available from the traditional software.

Does anyone know when this out of control wildfire began to spread?

Anybody remeber when 3d gaming was brand new and was the hottest topic?

November 30th 1995:          http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/web/vortex/display?slug=2155195&date=19951130   Best Bets in VideoGames:  New Systems makes It Even More Confusing To Pick Out Gifts

I was living in a rural area and wasn't as much into gaming as I am now so I missed out on on that era.  :picardno

You guys though must've had a blast.    8) 8) :D :)

I was really hoping for an article about *Chrono Trigger* and/or *Chrono Cross* when it was released and new  so if anybody runs by one please feel free to make a link.

I will like to include other adventure/RPG games that were good but am not sure if that is all right so I'll just stick to the *Chrono Series* for now.

See ya.

This message board is bouncing up and down and I can't see what I am typing now.
