Sorry for posting after such a long time. I forgot about this thread for a while.

Thank you Vehek! I tried it out, and it worked! I played up to getting Norris with all the codes put together, and everything seems to be in order! Only problem is that characters still call Serge "Lynx" in dialogue, but I imagine that might be because the game might actually write out "Lynx" instead of having a bit of code that says "put the character's name here" since it's impossible for his name to be anything else during this part of the game (just a guess though), and if that's the case, I don't imagine there's any way to fix it short of cracking open the game and manually rewriting the dialogue.

At any rate, thank you so much everyone! I'll play through the game like this and see how it goes. For future reference, and for anybody else who may want to do this, all of the codes to turn Lynx back into Serge are below:

3006EBF5 0000 (character model and menu/dialogue pictures)
3006EBC9 0008 (name and innate color)
8006EC32 00A0 (replace Glide Hook with Dash & Slash)
8006EC4C 00A1 (replace Feral Cats with Luminare)
8006EC5C 00A2 (replace Forever Zero with Flying Arrow)

Hello? Nobody's replied to this since March. Where is everybody?

I found something that might be a good starting point for making a full "turn Lynx back into Serge" code.

https://wescastro.com/codetwink/cheats.codetwink.com/psx/view/1079/34/default.htm

These are cheat codes for Serge. The element slot modifier codes let you put specific elements in specific element slots. And here is a list of those elements: https://wescastro.com/codetwink/cheats.codetwink.com/psx/view/1079/59/default.htm

Through a bit of trial and error, I think I was able to successfully replace Lynx's techs with Serge's using the following codes:

8006EC32 00A0
8006EC4C 00A1
8006EC5C 00A2

Another interesting thing in that list of codes is the "Picture/Sprite Modifier". I used the code "3006EBF5 0000" to see if it would change Lynx back into Serge and.... it worked! His name is still "Lynx" and he's still black innate and he still has Lynx's techs unless you use the element modifier codes, but his character model and menu pictures are all Serge's.

I think all that should be left to figure out is how to change his name and innate color.

Alright, I finally made it to the body switch. I tried out those codes to add specific characters to my party, and they seem to have worked! I have every character I had prior to the switch, and everything appears to be in order based just on a quick test run up to Home Viper Manor with Kid and Glenn in the party.

Now I just need a code to change Serge back into Serge after the body switch. Name, character model, menu pictures, innate color, techs, animations, and sound effects all changed from Lynx's back into Serge's. If anybody could help me with this too, I would greatly appreciate it!

Sorry for the late reply. This is all I see when I click on HID-compliant game controller:

I don't see a "Power Management" option though..

So you're saying the game doesn't "re-lock" characters you've obtained when the body switch happens, so much as it just "hides" them and forbids them from being used? If that's true, then I guess a simple character unlock code wouldn't work, huh? I guess that would explain though why the code didn't seem to work when I tried it while Kid was poisoned.

Yeah, turn off your screensaver, ya didnt know windows could do that?
Well yeah, that's an option, but it'd be rather tedious to disable it every time I want to play something on it, and then re-enable it when I'm done, no?

In the device manager, you can see if your PS3 controller has an option to keep the computer out of sleep mode. I forget exactly what it's called.
I can't seem to find an option for that anywhere. I looked in the device manager, found "HID-compliant game controller", but it only seems to give me details about it (which is all moonspeak to me), not any options for anything.

I am using an iso though (I wasn't even aware playing the actual game disc on an emulator was a thing you could do).

Well, I think I can get used to the occasional choppiness, but one thing that's really annoying is how my monitor will go to sleep while I'm playing (I'm using a PS3 USB controller instead of the keyboard) and I have to bump my mouse every few minutes to stop that from happening. I don't recall that being a problem with any other emulator I've used (then again, I don't play games on emulators often). Is there a way to configure it to stop this from happening?

(And sorry for bumping a month old thread. I completely forgot about these threads I had here.)

Oh, thank you! Now I just need a code to turn Lynx back into Serge after the body switch happens. I'm not currently at the point where the body switch happens, but I can try this code out when I get there.

I am currently at the point where Kid is poisoned though, so I decided to try it to put her back in the party. It.... did not work. Curiously, I also tried it with another save file at the very beginning of the game, and it did work there. Is there something in the game that absolutely restricts Kid from being in your party during this point in the game under any circumstance, even if you use cheat codes?

Also, that code list seems to be missing Greco. Possibly others, but Greco was the one I noticed while adding up the numbers as a test.

I own Chrono Cross physically, but I want to play it on an emulator so that I can use cheat codes to do a few things (I don't own a PS1 Gameshark). What's the best emulator to use? I tried ePSXe, but it's a little choppy sometimes, and the FMVs look super JPEG-y. I tried messing with the settings, and I think I broke it. It's even worse now, and I have no idea how to "reset" it. Even if I delete the emulator and all it's files, and redownload a fresh one, it somehow still has the settings I entered previously. So, I guess that one's a bust. (I am not tech-savvy in the slightest, in case you couldn't guess.) Is there another, possibly better, PS1 emulator I could use that runs Chrono Cross extremely well, and allows the use of cheat codes?

Hi, I'm new here. Is this an appropriate place to ask something like this? If not, I apologize. I don't know anywhere else I could ask.

I've played Chrono Cross many times, but one thing I never really liked about Chrono Cross was how you spend a really long time with Serge stuck in Lynx's body. I was wondering if there were any cheat codes floating around out there that could turn Serge back to normal without needing to wait until almost the end of disc 1. I looked around a bit, but I couldn't find anything, unfortunately. If nobody knows of any such code that already exists, I don't suppose that there's anyone here who knows a lot about cheat codes and would possibly want to try create such a code, is there?

Another thing that bugs me is how, after the body switch, you lose access to all of your characters you've obtained thus far, also until nearly the end of disc 1. And Kid, you can't get back until almost the end of the game. I found a code to unlock all characters, but I don't really want to unlock every character in the game right away, just keep the ones I already had. Does any such code exist? Maybe just some individual character unlock codes? I found a code to put specific characters in the party, but it doesn't actually "unlock" the characters, which would make switching members quite the hassle, as I'd have to use multiple cheat codes every time I want to change party members instead of just being able to use the Tele-porter.

Could anyone here possibly help me out with this? I'd greatly appreciate it!

EDIT:

Oh, I thought I should mention, here's where I found the codes to unlock all of the characters, and put specific characters in your party without unlocking them. Perhaps somebody who knows how cheat codes work could reverse-engineer some codes to unlock specific characters from them? Or something? I don't know if it works like that or not. The "character 1/2/3 modifier" codes are the ones that put people in the party without unlocking them.
