Likely, at start-up or something you'd want their main graphics offset stored right away to whatever RAM was necessary. Storing the pointers and stuff shouldn't be that hard, I think the more tedious aspect would be having to alter everything in the game to READ from the RAM locations.

Overworld, battle, all menus, etc.. I'm not sure if they all use a similar function or it's generally a single one used. But it would require, definitely, that anything that even remotely touches PC graphics to have to load the RAM instead. Likely a very tedious process.

...But there's also the fact of having to change Sprite Assembly and Animation Data as well. If it's just a swap over of the same size and everything that's fine, but if you're wanting to change the ENTIRETY of the character, yeah it's going to be need a lot more to be done.

From what I've explored, yeah. Most of the folders are fairly blatant what they are. However, most of the files inside are abbreviated so it's a bit more tricky to what goes to what but it's at least consistent in what the data is.

The one in pink if I remember right was Oswego del Fuego's from way, way back.

Not sure if it's the wrong patch or of it's being applied wrong, but it doesn't seem to work on start-up. On a headered ROM, of course, it black screens. On a non-headered ROM, it shows some sort of garbled type graphics in the top center of the screen then 3 enemies in a triangle formation on the top left and top right.

I wouldn't mind helping in some small way on this project but I'm not sure what I could do to help at this point. Seems like every base is covered. Either way, I'll cheer this on. The project definitely deserves and for sure needs a revamp on difficulty and such.

Wait, split, as in how? Adding a new area? The map already reached a sprite loading cap or so? I mean, if the pillars count, then I wouldn't be suprised.

Yeah, you have to split this probably due to an event limit or something. I had to do this way, way back when I was first doing 8thy.

This is looking fairly interesting and I'm happy to see visual progress like that. The battle system, to me, feels a lot like Seiken Densetsu where you wander until an enemy appears then you're able to attack. I'm guessing that's how later Final Fantasy's are like? I haven't played a single FF since FF6 so anything new is beyond me.

Either way, you're doing fantastic work. This is far above and beyond what I ever expected.

I'm not exactly an active hacker for Chrono Trigger anymore. I've been thinking about going back to it to try a few things but I'm not sure what at this point. Nothing too intense or too large of an undertaking. Just not sure what would benefit this game at this point.

I wouldn't post anything on RHDN unless you have visual proof of your work. If everything is just concept and ideas, you won't get anywhere and your topic will be locked and/or removed probably.
