Well, I don't know any remix sites myself, but I know a few people on another forum who are CT fans but don't use the compendium. I'll be sure to link this to them, as well!

Also, copy/pasting what I said on the news thread:

I don't know anything about hosting stuff, but I went ahead and put Chrono Tied up on MegaUpload as an alternative download.

Really great work! I'll admit the only song I know from Ft. Minor is Remember the Name, and you did really well with that! None of the songs come off as really jarring or oddly paced, which is definately a good thing!

Buying the CT keychains now.

Where are the CC keychains, though? I really wanted the Harle, Kid, Serge, Glenn, Lynx ones... I don't remember if there were others, actually. I just know I REALLY wanted the CC ones >.>

Will these be buy it now option items, or will they be biddable? Because I'm totally set for a bidding war on those keychains, clock, and maybe the Millenium collection if it doesn't get crazy.

Lousy panicking >.>

Anyhow, a spiritual successor isn't a bad idea.

Crimson Echoes: The Table-top Roleplaying Game!
Hey, no stealing my ideas! I've been working on a Chrono Trigger D&D 4ed campaign since last summer! I've already got 1000 A.D. done and everything! :P

...

...

Goddammit, I'm crying.

I wasn't even that interested in Crimson Echoes, to be honest. I remember the first demo from ages ago, and not being that impressed. Over the last year or so, though, with all the announcements about the game, I was getting genuinely excited at the prospect of play this hack that was made with so much love. I've been checking the Compendium every single day since August last year, when I moved out to Seattle; it was something that kept me connected to friends back home, who were also excited about CE.

I got a text message from one of those friends this morning that told me to check the Conpendium. I was expecting good news.

I... I need to go lie down now.

*Looking at CC* Well, that one's a lost cause. It's up against Final Fantasy 9 AND Ocarina of Time. I don't know how well Half-Life will compare to Cross, but I don't see a Final Fantasy losing to Cross, let alone my favorite Final Fantasy >.>

Though on the topic of Pokémon, I'll just say that I've played through the Gold/Silver/Crystal series more than a dozen times on the original cartridges. Having two Gameboys, a copy of each one of those three, and a little brother to compete against made us fill out that Pokédex pretty thoroughly. I'm pretty sure we actually got the dex in Crystal up to like, 220/251, which is the closest I've ever gotten to a filled 'Dex. Ah, good times.

*Sighs, then sends PM* Whatevs. I got some spare time, I suppose.

Found a typo on page three: It's B.C. 1200 when the era should be B.C. 12000

Also, because others have gone ahead and pointed out things that shouldn't be possible for that point in the game... Crono is hasted in the Black Tyrano fight pic on the first page. Since Ayla is required at that point and Frog is member #3, that leaves Haste Helm as the only other option, but it isn't available at that point of the game. New Game + is the most likely answer, but hey, I like nitpicking :D

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Telepod - Any Known Materials?
« on: July 08, 2008, 04:16:50 am »
I got to thinking about Lucca's telepod earlier today, and realized I had no idea what materials it was made of.

Is there any mention of materials used to create the telepod during the story? Considering that it was capable of interacting with the gate at the Millennial Fair, I was starting to wonder if it had some amount of Dreamstone in it... I know Melchior says something to the extent of "There's none to be found in this era" when he mentions it later in the game, and that Marle's pendant is more than likely the actual cause, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Thoughts:

-If Dreamstone is a factor of opening gates, that could mean that the Gate Key was utilizing Dreamstone to some effect. It'd help explain why the party couldn't access the 65,000,000 B.C gate after the key was stolen.
-It'd help explain why the Gate Key had any function at all; it makes little reason for some random invention Lucca whipped up just happened to open gates unless it was a particular material that she noticed reacted to the gate. The key was then crafted to help lodge said material in place, and she could use it to travel between gates without error.

This is all largely speculation. There isn't any particularly strong evidence that the telepod/Gate Key had any Dreamstone in it, but again, I thought I'd go ahead and ask what the plausibility of this idea is.

I found out about this an hour or so ago. I proceeded to run around the house shouting various forms of the phrase "YES, THANK YOU GOD!"

I'm glad we're getting some love again. It's about damn time.

Less characters, with more development each.

Maybe two/three characters of each element are available per playthrough (Without counting Serge/Lynx)? ie:

White: Serge, Riddel
Black: Lynx, Harle, Grobyc, Guile
Blue: Pierre/Nikki, Fargo
Red: Kid, (Who else was important? I can't remember any other red with plot significance. Then again, there's always Macha :P)
Green: Radius, Glenn/Razzly (Depending on save/leave Kid), Karsh
Yellow: Norris, Viper, Poshul (If for nothing else, just making the opening segment easier; maybe permanently leaves party after Opassa Beach?)

I know I'm likely forgetting some important character or another, but at least it's a basic list of characters. Zoah/Marcy never join the party, but we get Viper/Fargo anyway, so we don't need them. The only concern I can think with the list as a whole is not having any Red characters besides Kid, though I suppose adding Zappa might work.

The biggest "problem" I see is the lack of early-game characters by removing Leena, Mojo, and (Likely) Poshul; that leaves you with Serge and Kid until Termina, and then those two plus your guide for Viper Manor. Then you'd have Serge/Guide/(Glenn/Razzly) until Ft. Dragonia, and then get about ten characters in the span of twenty minutes after becoming Lynx.

I dunno, that's my two cents being written up at seven in the morning, so I imagine there's some glaring error on my part >.>

EDIT: On second thought, Grobyc and Viper could probably be removed without incident; Viper isn't important to the plot after recruiting him (Or past Ft. Dragonia, really), and Grobyc is relevent never. Maybe we could leave Poshul in, then? Hardly a plot-heavy character, but without Viper we need another Yellow, and Poshul offers potential variety for early-game parties.

Also, I forgot Sprigg, which means we'd have four green characters per run, five total. Still, with this list we're looking at about 16-17 characters as opposed to forty-something (44 I beleive, but I don't know if that counts Serge/Lynx as one or two characters), which is a nice start.

Concerning the Chronological Gangster portion of the update... I've contacted the creator, who has led me to another song of his, which I've proceeded to download. It's Jay-Z's "Say Hello" to the Tyrano Lair music.

You can get to the download screen from there, if interested.
