Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Want a new Chrono game?
« on: August 08, 2011, 04:58:13 am »
Eh, Chrono Break will never "officially" happen anyway, so I really think its up to the fans.

It's up to you guys to find a way to retcon out all the "Darker and Edgier" shit we had to put up with due to Chrono Cross.

I shouldn't buy it...

I have the snes cartridge, the psx remake and the DS remake.

...But I will probably buy it anyway !

Quoted for truth. I have all of the above, yet I'd still buy it on VC. It'll give me an excuse to dust off my Wii and listen to the glorious soundtrack over my surround sound. God knows my Wii isn't being used for anything else -_-

Man, come on ! Use your Wii to play Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower !

... :picardno

Hey, he might not live in Europe, so maybe that's not an option at this point.

I started playing the game and it looked good. However there were way too many random battles, and my party was often too exhausted to continue fightning in the middle of dungeons.

The game could have been better, but some bad design decisions wasted its potential.

Kinda like Crimson Echoes.

Oh snap!

Well, IMO Dragon Quest IX proved to me that some parts of Square-Enix still know what they're doing.

CT was largely successful because Squaresoft hired some of Enix's best designers, and now that Square and Enix are together, it may be possible to have quite a bit of the original team working on a Chrono sequel.

I've been going over the plot of Chrono Cross lately, and it seems to me that in the ideal timeline, the need for the Promethius Circuit to exist would be gone.

Without the Promethius Circuit, Robo would presumably be free, and without FATE wanting to disengage the Promethius Circuit, Lynx would never presumably travel to Lucca's house and kill her.

Do either of these assumptions make any sense?

I seem to have accidentally deleted the folder containing the soundtrack while clearing up some space on my laptop.

Anyone still got a copy of this?

Thank god for RPGMaker.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Where did the Mystics come from?
« on: May 22, 2011, 02:26:07 pm »
In 12000 BC, you can see monsters on Mt. Woe that heavily resemble the Mystics. It's probably a fair assumption that they are the ancestors of the mystics.

Where the monsters on Mt. Woe came from on the other hand, is a mystery.

Actually, this font works better because it's a truetype font.

Hey, do you guys know if it's possible to use different fonts in RPGMaker? If so, how about using the Chrono Trigger font available here?

Ah, well. The demo was quite fun, though, so I'm looking forward to this.

Submissions / I need a Chrono Trigger tileset for RPGMaker 2003.

I can't seem to find any on the internet. Does anyone have any that I could use?

I was just wondering, is the battle system for Chrono Shift going to be changed significantly from the demo version? I find the battle system to be somewhat unsatisfying compared to the preview of the battle system for the Radical Dreamers remake.

As the video shows, it is quite possible to remake Chrono Trigger's battle system in RPGMaker, and I would really like to see Chrono Shift attempt to do the same.
