Yeah I thought the same as well, but never looked up the Japanese name for Kilwala. Imma look it up now.

Yeah, Kilwalas are called マモ, which is Mamo!

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / CT OVA: Poyozo or Kilwala?
« on: May 12, 2016, 12:22:27 am »
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but on this page

https://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Chrono_Trigger_OAV.html

it says the little white furry guy is a Poyozo. Is this true? I've always thought it was a Kilwala. It is a festival for monsters after all, and we never see a Poyozo doll even move. I also think it looks more like a Kilwala.

I was seriously considering buying it until FaustWolf mentioned that was all the concept art there was. I still feel a bit like buying it, but I just can't justify buying a book that I can't read. If I were to buy it, it would be because I would then own a big book full of Chrono Trigger awesomeness. I wouldn't be able to read the awesomeness, but I'd know it was there!

I think that's more the author hinting that it is Kid for those who hadn't figured that out already.

I don't think they would use text from a book at the beginning and end of the game unless it somehow related to what's going on.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: CT Cameos in other games...

Isn't that a Poyozo in the lower right?

I may be looking too hard for references, but the zig-zags on the scoreboard where it says "Space Championship" remind me of Lavos (who, I might add, is from space).

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Serge's Epitaph
« on: January 29, 2009, 04:46:14 pm »

On a sort of related note, I once saw some idiots arguing at gamefaqs about whether or not Serge's mom and Wazuki were his real father and mother, because they interpreted the "what once came from the sea" quote not as a metaphor for death but as a literal "they found Serge floating in the sea as a child." lmao

Honestly, when I first played through the game, I thought that's what is was alluding to. I assumed it would be revealed later in the game. I was kinda surprised that Serge's origins weren't mysterious or anything. It just seem like it would kinda fit the rest of the story if he was just found floating in the sea. Think of all the discussions and arguments that would trigger.

I, for one, am very excited to hear back from the other translators. Those interviews may turn out to be juicy.

Does anyone know for sure who the artist of that concept art is? It doesn't look like Toriyama's work. I might be wrong though.
