Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Chrono at VGL
« on: May 23, 2010, 02:39:12 am »
Ah, I remember my first VGL concert. Actually I've only been one, but that's besides the point. It was sometime last year, held in San Diego, California. The concert was about to end when they diceded they were gonna play some Chrono Trigger for us. Best night of my life, man...

Polling / Re: Should a new game+ game be harder?
« on: March 06, 2010, 03:46:16 pm »
Whenever I here new game+ it sounds like a new game where you still have all your stats and powers from the original saved file (which it is). Then there's hard/expert/elite mode etc. which is completely different. You are sent back to level one and all the enemies are ridiculously stronger. Now if combining the two is what Uttunels is getting at then that's kind of pointless because everything is balanced out again. The only difference between this new game and a regular one is that everyone immediately starts out with the ability to blow stuff up.

And now for something completely different (whoa, that's six words, too!)

Hey everybody. It's only been about a month, but here that's basically eternity. So anyways, I (once again) iz backs! The end to the beginning has come at last! Now for the long middle! I hope to make it great. :)

I would first like to account for all the doings I have done since I last left. I did not complete Chrono Trigger to 100%, BUT I have completed Super Mario Bros. Superstar Saga, New Super Mario Bros. (for the DS), Assassin's Creed 2 (also DS) and have gotten quite far in Sonic Adventure Battle 2 (GameCube). I have faired well in my schooling and retained an above 4.0 GPA this entire semester. I am two boss battles and a duel arena away from completing CT 100%, I have reintroduced myself to KoL (kingdom of loathing; an online rpg) and am working closer to receiving my eagle rank in scouting. I am still riding my bike and singing in the rain (when it does at least) for those are the few things in this world that never fail to make me happy.

And now I would like to state that I had a great time here. I miss it and the things the compendium offered. Though I haven't contributed much to it, but it has contributed some to me. I'd like to some day make even, but unfortunately that day is not today.

Welcome to everyone who has recently joined and happy birthday to all those who have had the pleasure of celebrating theirs. I always did like this section a bit more than others, being able to greet new comers and wave goodbye to on goers. But anyways, it's time to catch up on what's happened while I was gone (and maybe some sleep, too).

I still don't understand a lot about this world. In other words, I don't get what the punch line is supposed to be.

faith must be battled with reason.

These two things have battled on since the beginning of mankind. Who do you think sought them out in the first place? There were many reasons why religion was created. And a few why rationality was searched for. A reason for religion was for war and power, which were some of the things that came from rationality. For example, conquest of enemy territory. Rationality was found so that one could live a free life. And some religions have come to the same conlusion. Though these two things are complete opposites, they end up the same way.

So go ahead Zeality, fight for reason! But that will not end faith in others!

I myself have not taken a side for I seek both, thus I believe my life we'll head down a road majorly different from yours. But honestly, keep fighting. The world needs people to see reason. And there are people out there just like you who are doing the same for faith. And please, don't take anything out of context. Think of it as a whole. It works better that way, or at least that's what I've come to understand.

Current frustration: School break

We get three weeks off at my school. That's a whole week longer than any other school in the district. The problem is that the brake is STILL going on and it's taking forever to end. What sucks more is that all the friends I would hang out with are back in school and the others I only ever see during school or at school functions. I'm basically stuck in a rut, waiting to get back out. Boy, do I hate waiting. It pisses me off to have to wait.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Re: unknown variables
« on: January 05, 2010, 02:42:30 pm »
Well, if the future changed immediately, then why is Crono not subject to paradox? It was Marle who got him to go through the gate in the first place. If she no longer exists, then why is Crono not reset back to his own time line? Your theory is true to an extent: Variables need to be put into place to keep history going as it should no matter what happens at any one point in time. But the part I'm trying to get at is that they're not always put in the timeline that the subject came from. Again, in Leene and Marle's case, Crono would be the variable. Without him to save Leene, the future would change. Notice that if he wasn't placed in the past, Marle's future wouldn't go right, let alone exist. TTI is also another variable. Marle may not get it at first, but Crono sure does. This is the key part in what makes this all possible.

As for Ayla, and again the doctor example, as long as the variable returns to the point  in time that they originated from, nothing has to change.

All in all, tis' a good theory. But have you found evidence to prove it?
