I don't plan to rename him, however Chrono Trigger Ds's new ending has motivated be to replay Cross, which I have not touched in years.

Polling / Was Chrono Trigger "Rick Rolled"?
« on: December 06, 2008, 09:17:24 pm »
Does Robo's theme share a similarity to the Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up"? Was Mitsuda rick rolled? Watch this video and judge for yourself.

Well it was supposed to be stupid. I wasn't setting out to be the next comedic sensation or anything. It was supposed to be a purposely stupid comment. I guess I shouldn't try and convey things that are supposed to be stupid over the internet since no one can see that in typing a lot of the time like they could in a conversation.

As for the guilt thing, maybe they did that just to show how bleak the future is. A family line that's been around for 1000 or so years is wiped out, even if you saved their predecessor in 1000 ad. Kinda like "some things can't be changed".

Or something along those lines. That's the only guess I'd have.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: old ct us tv ad?
« on: December 04, 2008, 06:54:56 pm »
I remember the commercial you're talking about. I was around the same age at the time, but I still remember it. Even though I hadn't played Chrono Trigger (let alone heard of it. I was into Mario, Ninja turtles, Mega man and street fighter games at age 7), but I remember it giving me goosebumps.

Both are amazing games, but I picked Trigger for these reasons:

- Nostalgic value
- Story was cool, and didn't have me banging me head on the sidewalk trying to figure it out like parts of Cross did
- Dream Team worked on it
- Gato
- Finally, Trigger (even with its paradoxes) just had a more cohesive feel to it.

This being said, I don't hate Cross by any means. It's just second place to Trigger to me...... But a very close second

Well there's only one answer that makes sense..... IT'S ROBO FRITZ!!!!

Seriously though, I never noticed that. That's a pretty cool thing though, that a small act like saving fritz could have that kind of an impact in 2300. Cool.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Best Party?
« on: December 03, 2008, 10:15:01 pm »
I typically used a party of Crono, Ayla and Robo for all my new game+ run throughs. Once I beat the game the first time, they were up around level 60, and by the time I obtained the new ending, they are all close to lv 70.

Robo With the Crisis arm and Prism specs at max health, doing Rapid Punch (haste helm is a bonus)= 6k+ damage to the new optional boss you have to beat in order to obtain the new ending. The boss was dead in only a few rounds, and I lost no one.

Ayla charms a crazy amount of elixirs off of enemies, and does a fair amount of damage (1200 If I recall to the new boss), as well as despensing my disgusting supply of Mega Elixirs and items to heal the party. The Dragons tear item helps her a lot.

And Crono just uses fury repeatedly, About 2k-2.5k damage to the same boss with the rainbow.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: CTDS comes with a poster.
« on: December 03, 2008, 10:05:11 pm »
Someone on Gamefaq's already picked up the game at a local gaming store, and he opened it up, and there is a Poster that comes with the game.

Sweet

thing is, it's just the cover art of the USA CTDS.

Hey, I know this is my first post (greetings by the way), but I'm almost certain that the person you're speaking of is me on Gamefaqs. The User Name in that thread should be "Guilty_Gearhead". I actually came to this site after obtaining the new ending, and decided to browse the forums, as well as to clear some plot issues I had up.

Anyways, the poster is sweet. It shall soon be framed and displayed. Not THE greatest poster, but I'll take what I can get.  :)
