Characters, Plot, and Themes / Dalton in the Lavos Timeline
« on: July 01, 2005, 05:50:23 pm »
In the lavos timeline Dalton would mostl ikely have been beside queen zeal inside the ocean palace when Lavos showed up, so my guess is he would have died.  No matter how much of a chicken he is, I doubt he'd run away while standing beside the queen =p

Edit: wasn't there a scene that showed the inside of the ocean palace in the Lavos timeline?  If there was anyone notice if Dalton's standing in there?

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Lucca vs Lynx
« on: June 10, 2005, 05:12:07 pm »
That's what I meant lol, going into the room with kid and seeing the scene with Lynx and Harle inside the orphanage....I think that's how it happened anyway.  I really need to play that part of the game again.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Lucca vs Lynx

If I'm not mistaken (been a while since I played CC) couldn't you see Lucca's glasses on the ground when you confronted Lynx in the past?  If she took off her glasses to sleep, and lynx managed to get to her before she could put them back on she'd be pretty much defenseless.  It's an idea, at least.  Lynx was no where near Lucca's caliber in a 1 vs. 1 fight.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / About demi-humans and Mystics
« on: November 26, 2004, 04:00:37 pm »
I'm inclined to believe that the difference between Demi-humans and Mystics is more a form of dialect.  The sentient non-humans on the zenan mainland began referring to themselves as mystics from when Magus and ozzie were in charge and the name stuck.  On El-Nido Magus and Ozzie had no influence and the demi-humans were oppressed.  Most likely demi-human was created as an insult, telling them they were less than humans.

As for the word Mazoku it's been used in quite a few anime's and game's.  The one that it sticks out most in to me is Slayers.  In there the word Mazoku is used to describe the more organized and powerful group of "monsters"  while another word (I forgot what it is) is used to describe the regular monsters that can be found.  Of course when dubbed in English the word monster was used in both places, so it can be somewhat confusing.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but if it was a mistranslation and should have said "each of you" couldn't he still be speaking about the earlier quests he told you about?  "Each of you are close to someone who needs help, find these people, fast!"  This could refer to Cyrus ghost for Frog, Atropos for Robo, Marle's dad etc. . .  As for it  not dissapearing until you finish the Black Omen, Queen Zeal could be counted as the person close to Magus, so the message wouldn't change until you finished the entire quest. sorry I haven't been around much, College sucks, but it's spring break now so maybe I'll have a little free time on my hands ^_^

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Geographical Inconsistencies I
« on: January 20, 2004, 12:12:22 pm »
I think Lavos was probably responsible for the biggest changes that we see.  In fact, early in the game I think if you talk to someone in the inn, a small earthquake occurs and the person you are talking to remarks that it's been happening more often lately?  I don't remember really well, lol.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Marle's Great^12-Grandmother Paradox
« on: January 11, 2004, 05:46:08 am »
Thinking more about the situation I don't even believe that Marle was removed by time at all.  More likely the entity moved her to another time/place/dimension.  When Marle reappears she says that she was someplace cold, dark, and lonely.  If she had been removed from time it's very unlikely she would retain any memory of it at all.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Dimensional Dilemma for Tossed Salad?
« on: January 10, 2004, 06:52:43 pm »
Just a small note, but I believe that there is a connection also between the Forest around Viper Manor.  At one point in the game you can roll a rock over a hole in the ground, blocking a stream of monsters in one dimension, if you do it, the same rock is moved in another dimension, trapping a person behind it, if you don't roll the rock the person in the other dimension isnt trapped.  (I think this is Funguy, one of your party members, but it's been a while since I've been through that area of the game, so I'm kinda fuzzy on it.)

General Discussion / Chrono Peripherals
« on: December 21, 2003, 09:07:50 pm »
I have both the original Chrono Trigger guide, and the new one that came out with the playstation rerelease.  Also have the Cross guide and one of the CT clocks that some stores had as a promotional item when Cross was released.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / True nature of Dreamstone
« on: December 19, 2003, 07:20:18 pm »
I've been thinking about the dreamstone we find in CT, and how we have always just assumed that it is simply a good conducter of Lavos energy, but I think that there may be more to it than that.  I think that the dreamstone may be able to conform itself to the owners wishes/their dreams.  That is how the stone got it's name.  For example, Queen Zeal's dream was to attain the power of Lavos, so the dreamstone was formed into the mammon machine, which was able to conduct Lavos power, while melchior's dream was to forge amazing weapons, hence the Masamune.  Also masa and mune are refered to as Melchior's dreams.  So what do ya'll think about this?  Post-exam delirium? or does it have merit?

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Marle's Great^12-Grandmother Paradox
« on: December 13, 2003, 06:00:09 pm »
Lucca just explained what she perceived was happening.  She had no concept of the Entity, or any other reason that Marle would dissapear.  She was so excited about traveling through time that she immediately assumed the grandfather paradox was the reason.  As zeality said earlier if Marle had truly unmade herself then Chrono never would have had a chance to travel back in time to save her.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Was the epoch dismantled?
« on: December 12, 2003, 11:14:05 pm »
In the most accepted ending of Chrono Trigger, Lucca talks about dismantling the epoch shortly before Chrono's mother fell into the gate.  But did Lucca really do it?  I recently realized that while playing through Chrono Cross you see a bunch of children's drawings of the origional CT team.  But how would the kids know what the rest of the CT team looks like?  I'm guessing that everyone kept in touch after all.  What do ya'll think?

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Masamune, Einlanzer, & Hero's Medal
« on: December 10, 2003, 08:36:18 pm »
What I want to know is what made Masa and Mune go to sleep in the first place,  I doubt they just got tired. . .they spent the entire time from the fall of zeal until 600 A.D. without going to sleep.  So what made them do it?  Oh, and as far as the article, I really doubt I'm gonna have time to do it (pre med majors suck)  so if someone would like to take over on it, feel free, if it doesn't get done I might have some time to do it after work over christmas.
