Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Chrono Trigger DS Sprites
« on: March 25, 2009, 01:36:38 am »
Are there any Chrono Trigger DS sprites? If you look closely, the sprites in the DS version are brighter than the SNES / PS versions.
They look exactly the same as the PS version while played on an emulator. I am quite sure they are exactly the same sprites.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Cross DS: Is it Possible?
« on: March 24, 2009, 11:49:16 pm »
I haven't been around in quite some time, but got back into the Chrono world when I purchased CT DS and started playing a few hours ago. Anyway, recognizing the limits of the Nintendo DS as a platform, can Chrono Cross be ported to the DS? Is it capable of displaying the graphics, video, and sound? What do you think?

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Is Serge the father of Crono?

May God have mercy on the poor sap who told you that Serge is Crono's father. But...I do believe that Crono could be Serge's father...but I don't know... :?
You mean you don't think Wazuki is Serge's father or you think Wazuki is Chrono?

Retranslation of Chrono Trigger / Re: Retranslation Bug Report Thread
« on: October 04, 2007, 04:20:05 am »
The running water sounds different than I remember but I don't have my SNES handy to compare. Has anyone else noticed anything like this? All the rest of the audio sounds normal. Maybe I just haven't played in a long time or maybe it has something to do with my emulator...I'll let you guys know if anything else sounds weird.

On a side note: Would it be at all possible to add the video clips from the PSX version into a patch like this one? I'm not asking if it is legal or likely to happen, but if is it "possible".

Retranslation of Chrono Trigger / Re: Retranslation Bug Report Thread

I'm using ZSNES 1.51 on Unix and everything seems to be working just fine but I have only been playing about an hour.
There is a line that needs fixing just before you go back to 1000AD for the first time.
Marle:
"Talking normally is fine too!
You're more amazing that I am!
I might be a princess, but I can't do a thing."

"that" should be "than"

Congratulations on the patch. Looks like top notch stuff.

Update: I am now several hours into the game and everything seems to be running great although when I load the ROM it says in the lower left corner "Bad ROM". Do all patched ROMs say this in ZSNES? Also I am not having any of the sound problems the other guys are having but I using the Linux source version. So far I would say that I like the new translation.

General Discussion / Re: Final Fantasy VII

Carefully....I"m still in high school....but I'm going to try and become a game programmer!! That way I will be able to make re-makes of all the games that I want......lol...Can you imagine a detailed verson of FF VII or Chrono Trigger or even Chrono Cross!!!!!!
Don't tell anybody about the remakes until after you release the whole thing on the internet and claim that somebody stole your personal project and put it on the torrent trackers. That way you won't have to worry about all those pesky Cease and Desist letters!

I agree with the above.  Trying to justify such events in this way, there would be no plotholes in any story because anyoen can come up with a reason to counteract it.
No that's not true. You see it is possible that...haha j/k

IYO what are the 5 greatest single player games of all time?
Also if you had access to a time machine and could only travel to 3 different time periods what would they be?

Sounds like me a couple years ago. I took the conservative route and little by little her parents are starting to come around(not in the sense that they like me but in the sense that they know they are stuck with me). Long story short we are getting married once we graduate and there is nothing they can do about it because we love each other. The good news is that once her siblings have gotten to know me more they have become my friends and even her mom to a certain extent. And although her dad and I don't exactly get along he is starting to come to terms with the fact that I am going to be his new son-in-law.

Are Masa and Mune still considered people for the purposes of the Conservation of Time Theorem?
Well they can hide inside of a sword and unless that sword has as much mass as a person...... but perhaps we are thinking about this far too much and Zeality is right, they just needed a reason why we couldn't use 5 people at once.

Yet Robo alone should weight as much as 2 of them.
Perhaps he is made from super lightweight alloy? All I am saying is that perhaps this isn't really a plothole. Even if Robo is heavier then the rest of the people I am sure Marle and Lucca weigh less then the average party member so maybe it evens out.

Okay, as far as I'm concerned, we have one CC plot-hole.

As for CT (though it's less interesting to name plot-holes for CT): what about the scene when the Prophet pushed Crono's party into the Gate that Schala then sealed? Instead of ending up at the End of Time, the party reappeared in Prehistory. I believe this is a plot-hole because they were most probably more than 3 persons to time travel: Crono, 2 party members, Masa, and Mune. They should have appeared at the End of Time.
Maybe 3 people is just an estimate and the real equation used for determining whether or not you end up at the End of Time is based on mass. If it were based on mass perhaps Masa and Mune together make up less then the average mass of a single person thus they still had a total mass of less then that of the average of 4 people.

Say the average party member is 150lbs
If >600lbs then you end up at the EOT
If <600lbs then you can travel as normal
Then a party of 3 averaging a weight of 150lbs each could travel as normal
And a party of 4 averaging a weight of 150lbs the party would end up at the EOT

If a party of 3 averaging 150lbs plus Masa and Mune who average 70lbs each is <600lbs then they can still travel through time as normal

Obviously I simplified the numbers but what do you think of this theory?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
