Yeah, I'd heard about them. :/ That's a bridge I'm not quite sure how to cross. It's difficult... I sort of wish I'd been born 20 years earlier. It would have been a lot easier to make a name for yourself back before the video game industry was so conglomerated.

...well, this whole thing put a hair in our peach cobbler.

I'm so sorry, guys. ;____; I just don't know how to say it enough. I can't imagine how bad that hurt. Square are a bunch of assholes to have done this, ESPECIALLY this close to release.

I'm personally boycotting Square. They've been sucking for near 10 years anyway. So way to go, Square. I was a fan of yours before I could read. Hell, Final Fantasy IV TAUGHT me how to read. I've loved your games since 1991, and it ends this way. I can't believe it. I cried during FFVI. I skipped school to play Chrono Trigger. I JUST finished a play through of Super Mario RPG LITERALLY 10 minutes before Zealty posted about the C&D. I loved you guys that much, and it's over.

I want to beat them at their own game. I want to make a game that blows them out of the WATER for what they've done. A game designed to SINK THEM. And you know what? If people make fangames of my stuff, I'll be FLATTERED, and I'll be sending them congratulatory emails instead of snotty C&Ds. Bastards. Unbelievable, sickening, arrogant, BASTARDS.

Kagero's been around since Crisis. :3 Really, I think his is the only Japanese-ish name related to us. (we named our studio after him)

Anyway, we should have another update soon. Things are moving along pretty fast (and will probably REALLY speed up during the summer. I'm excited! :3)

Hmmm... The character names were pretty much the same as they've always been. The only difference is that we dropped last names, but I believe the only one released was Arc's.

I'm not a fan of where Chrono Ark is going.  Some of the character names are still unfinalized, but they're throwing in some random Japanese names into the characters which really just ruins it a bit right there.

And which names are Japanese? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't seem to recall any.

 Arc: English
 Maia: Latin
 Naomi: Hebrew
 Artemis: Greek
 Aurora: Greek

Actually, that's a really good take on it, Chrono99. I hadn't thought of that. Same main characters (sorta), different character designs, part of the game is sort of the same, but then they branch of in wildly different paths.

Although, I'll warn everyone (including our forumers too), we've been playing with the story, and it might end up being wildly different anyway. Got some really neat stuff cooking that I think everyone will like. However, the synopsis still works for it. I always liked my Doomsday clock stuff anyway.

Well, however it's gone down, it's over now. What we have are two separate projects. The Ark team's been communicating great, and all of that past frustration is totally out the window now.

I do wish I'd let more people know that it we were going to have the sit down with Chains, but I guess it all happened sort of fast. We decided to do it late Thursday night, and Ghost and I jumped into it pretty quickly. When Chains got mad at us, we were afraid we'd both be banned from the Crisis forums, and thus came the idea for the mass email. So Ghost sent it while he had the chance to, but the banning never came, and we were able to come to a mutual agreement. We were frustrated with him, yes, but we're past it now. We talked it out, figured out our differences, and walked away. We are letting him use everything we made for him as team members, since that's fair.

Really though, I'd like to just get past this unpleasantness and get down to making games, because that's what this whole thing was about in the first place.

Anyway, Chrono Ark has updated tonight (a new demo video). The demo has some of the old stuff that was shown (Item menu, tech menu, ect), but it shows a bit better how these things are implemented. It also has a VERY early demo of the battle system, with the ATB working. The battle's are definitely not pretty yet, but don't worry--that'll come with time. Oh, and there's a status menu in there too. Like I said, it's still pretty rough, but we're getting there on the basics.

Also note: We haven't had time to alter the graphics to reflect the character and name changes, so you're going to see some familiar faces from Crisis. This should be changed in the next video.

This demo brought to you by Ghost:

And here's a download link to get a higher quality version... We really need to get some server space to upload this stuff.

I've been saying this for years about the RPGmaker community in general. CRISIS is getting so far along just because of luck, I think--we have an AWESOME team so far, though we could use a few more people.

Coordination=good things, though. I wonder if people will be willing to put aside their own projects to coordinate, though.

Hee hee, you posted my little Lavos picture! ^____^

I have faith that we'll see a sequel someday. If Mother 3 can happen, so can a third Chrono game. XD

CT:R... We hardly knew ye. ~__~ I still remember the day I heard it got C&Ded. I was actually staying in Tokyo. I was so tempted to march down the Square building in a rage. LOL

Didn't do it though. Something about possible deportation kept my anger at bay.

CT NES makes me smile. I think it'd actually be a fun contest to remake that stuff in 8bit graphics (jots down for future Crisis contest?). 8 bit sprites are tough. In celebration of how hilarious thinking of CT in 8bit is, I give you 8bit Chrono!

Really nice update, ZeaLitY. ^___^ Here's hoping we'll have a nice update soon too.

*Hugs* Oh Zeality, I love you guys! If I'm able to view all of the models close up (ESPECIALLY overworld models), it'll make spriting detailed NPCs for El Nido so much easier! ^_______^ This is an awesome, awesome thing you guys have done here. ^^

Nope, don't worry. LOL Crisis is very much a Chrono game right now.

Retranslation of Chrono Trigger / Re: Retranslation Bug Report Thread
« on: September 30, 2007, 04:32:50 pm »
Found a rather big one--in the trading hut in 65,000,000 BC (right after you beat Magus) if you try to trade to get the Dreamstone Bow, it doesn't give it to you.

A typo mistake when Magus drops his defenses--it says something like "Magus drops defenses and begins casting a spell3".

Also, there are a few instances where the main characters' names display the default even if you changed them--I'll grab some specific screenshots on my next playthrough (should be sometime soon--I'm nearly past Zeal). Most of them are instances of Chrono's name.

EDIT: Oh, and there are some other minor spelling ones--in 600AD Parepoley (or Parepoli?) is still called "Porre" on the world map still--also, "Aris" Dome is spelled "Aris" on the world map, but "Arris" in the character dialogue.
