I'm having trouble with the "dorisuton" weapons; I can't quite figure out what they're supposed to mean.  I got "doric-ton" after a bit of research, but it doesn't sound quite right.

bokuto is literally, wood sword, but I suppose you can leave this romanized if you want (it's not a 'bokken' if that's what you're thinking)
hakugin (白銀) is indeed silver (literally, white silver)
zanma is, if it's the word I'm thinking it is (秋刀魚), a type of fish.
kongou (金剛) is diamond, and is also Indra's weapon in the Hindu faith (was this the Shiva Edge in Woolsey's?)
tenou I'm not too sure on, possibly Heaven/Sky King (or you could just leave it as heaven, I suppose)
yasha (夜叉) is a female demon
suzaku is the red phoenix of the east in chinese mythology (and astronomy)
(and yes, I agree with leaving Yasha and Suzaku romanized, heh)

Actually, I think that yasha was the Shiva Edge.  That makes more sense to me.

I'm about three-quarters through the whole thing.  I've romanized almost everything, and translated most of the stuff I've already got to their english equivalents; pretty easy given a good portion of the items and weapons are in katakana.

But some of them are way too wierd for me to get a handle on.  I'll be finishing everything else pretty soon, and if there're still some strange katakana items I can't get a handle on, I'll just post the list and see what ya'll's take is on it.

Then it's on to tech names.

I've only got access to basic sentence structure right now, and since I haven't started on kanji yet, I'm afraid most of this is beyond me.

I'll stick to the items/technique lists if that's okay.  I'll leave the dialogue to someone with more experience.

I think this is a good idea.  I think most folks would appreciate the names that came out in the US release.

Is it safe to assume that katakana can be adapted as we translate it?  Like in getting rid of extra U's and I's, or switching R's for L's and so on?

I'm getting a broken link when I click it.

I think we should try to shy away from other sources unless we really get stuck.  We're trying to completely retranslate the script, and I get the feeling that using a guide like may cause confusions with our own translations in the future.
