Title: Multiple vendors offering CT "Formation Arts" figures for pre-order
Post by: FaustWolf on April 09, 2010, 10:26:02 pm
UPDATE: Turns out Marle isn't missing after all! (http://cgi.ebay.com/SQUARE-Chrono-Trigger-Formation-Arts-Figure-Crono-Marle_W0QQitemZ260587476298QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3cac39554a) Thanks to TheDarknessBeyondTime for the tip.

UPDATE: SEGA MAN tells us that only the four figures shown below are available in the US normally, whereas all 5 are in collections sold in Japan.

Our thanks goes to lockgar for alerting us that Entertainment Earth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SQ80963) has made the Chrono Trigger Formation Arts collectible figurines available for pre-ordering. Looks like they'll start shipping in October. Woo-hoo!

Urban Collector (http://www.urban-collector.com/chrono-trigger-formation-arts-box-set-apr101587.html) and Bigbad Toy Store (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=SEP10184&mode=retail) are also offering, so if you're interested in collecting some of these, you might want to check out multiple outlets and compare available prices and shipping terms. A user over at the Sideshow Collectors Forum (http://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72349) nabbed some nice close-up shots of the figurines.

These are the ones shown off at the Square Enix Toy Fair booth a couple months back, and recapture scenes from Akira Toriyama's art for the game. Compendium forum members have noted that Marle is curiously absent. Hmm! Let's hope some more are in the works, and you'll get that Lavos action figure with spring-loaded spines you've always wanted since 1995!

40 dollars a piece? pardon me when I say fuck that lol. I'll probably buy em all from an ebay seller that packaged them together for 90 or something like that, thus saving a dickload of cash.

That's actually quite cheap by figurine standards. Anyway, it looks like they'e $30-40 for the whole set. I can't see a menu for selecting a specific figurne on any of those sites, so they should come in a bundle.

Hmm! That's a great question, I wonder if the figure the buyer gets is random, or if the buyer gets them all? The cheapest I've seen so far are the ones at Urban Collecter, which go for something like $25 (per whatever the unit is).

Hey, think of it this way: if you buy these, there's an ambiguous chance of a Chrono sequel! (http://www.thetanooki.com/2009/06/07/want-more-chrono-trigger-buy-more-chrono-trigger/) What could be better!?

Well, the certain chance of a Chrono sequel, of course.

I just preordered from Entertainment Earth, and the description as well as the receipt say Chrono Trigger Formation Arts Trading Figures,  $39.99. All four are displayed on the item page as well. So the 4 statues are sold as a set unless something is horribly misrepresented. Hope that clears things up.

I believe it's for all 4 of them. So it's 10 dollars apiece :) . I already preordered mine.

Square usually releases more than one set of these type of figures .
It released two volumes for final fantasy (at least) and two for kingdom hearts ......so Marle might be in the next set !

That may certainly be a good idea. Good thought there.

You get all four of them for the listed price. I asked around, and it definitely is all four. Both online and through numerous magazines. I might get two sets since they are so cheap!

Turns out there are 5 Chrono Trigger figures, and Marle isn't left out like everyone thought.  Wonder why this wasn't shown at the official role-out.

Ha, well, you know how it is. Gotta give it up to fanservice...though I don't recall that creepy of a grin on Crono's face in the art...>_>

So for those who've already preordered, will they be receiving a set of 4 (as most of the descriptions say) or was that a misunderstanding?
Will the 5th figure be included in the end?

I asked the seller who was selling the marle figure about the set and he said Japan gets all 5 figures while the US gets only the 4. So I went ahead and got a marle figure and just thought I would let you guys know.

I was planning on doing that. Thanks for the confirmation.

EDIT: Is there any place that will actually pack one of each figure per order?

Cute Formation Arts figs. Would've much rather had Play Arts versions of the individual characters(complete with accessories like the Gate Key, Dreamstone and C. Trigger).

If you guys want to get the figures a little earlier, these come in stock in July rather than October. Only thing is that they ship one figure randomly rather than 4, but they do offer all the 5...so you could get Marle if you're lucky...
