Title: Chrono Alter Release - Download Inside!
Post by: Lance VII on February 17, 2010, 12:37:30 pm
For the past 10 months, I have been making a Chrono fan-Game titled "Chrono Alter". Finally, three days early, I am releasing the game to the public. Everyone, I give you Chrono Alter - The Full Game!

UPDATE: If you downloaded the game before 2-18-10, please delete it. That version somehow got a bug where you cannot proceed past 2300 A.D.

Version 1.2 of the game will be uploaded by 10:00 am, 2-18-10 EST. I apologize for the inconvenience.

"One year ago, Crono, Marle, and Lucca decided to change history. They traveled through time, overcame many obstacles, and defeated what we call 'Lavos'. Over the course of time, there were many casualties. One of them was Princess Schala of the Magical Kingdom, Zeal.

Now, in 1001 AD, the cogs of fate begin to turn once more. As Crono and Marle sit upon a mountaintop, they are drawn into a new world by what seems to be a resurrected Lavos.

After awaking in this new place, Crono realizes that Marle is no long with him. As his quest begins, he receives a letter from one who was thought to be dead.

He travels through this new land, meeting with his allies from across time, and he begins his quest to save time once more."

Thank you for reading, and enjoy the game! I'll update this page every now and then with Reviews and whatnot.

Thank you everyone! Enjoy Chrono Alter!

Oh christ...

You think if you are a "trusted user" that you could upload at will. Especially since you already uploaded Chronicles, correct?

Try putting it on megaupload if possible to avoid that waiting game.

You're seeing this error because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file. Change that to False, and Django will display a standard 404 page.

so if I fix the error in my Django I don't have, I'll see the true 404 error that I should have been seeing if not for the error to the non-existent software on my comp? Oooo, let me get right on that.

I second the MegaUpload suggestion :P.

It should be ready to go after you unzip the game.

Truth, there's a file called "RPG_RT" that's in the "Chrono Alter" directory. That's the game's executable, and works without needing RPGMaker pre-installed or anything.

About to go get the letter back from the mystics, level 7.  Seems like the monsters give you WAY too much gold, but maybe it levels out later on.  Not sure why the inn is in the first town when you can nap for free.  The attack accessory adds like 30 attack power while the shield and hat add 1 defense each that seems a little out of wack.  Fun game so far though, I liked that the king couldn't lend you any soldiers, because his were all marching in place in front of him :P

Controller wise, I have two snes controllers hooked up with usb and neither of them work.  However, I have an n64 controller hooked up via adaptoid and that one works great.  Control stick for movement, with right and down c for buttons.

hymm for some reason it didn't. I checked that thing next to it and it says I need to turn the power on. I went back to both levers and can't do anything to them (kinda like the town next to the castle before you get frog). I can't walk though that center door.

Odd. I just checked the coding, and my testers had no problem with it.

I have the same problem.  The gray pillars appear to have been lowered, but the door is just a solid wall and won't go to the next room.  I flipped both switches and killed all the enemies.  In the door on the left and up I found another computer screen and a bookcase but those both did nothing.  Level 20 and stuck for now.  Was there anything else we were supposed to do there?  I thought I searched pretty good.

I only played the first 5 minutes of the game, so these are my initial thoughts. First off, there seems to be a lot of effort into here. Which is good. Every where seems to be well designed.

The start of the game made me giggle though. So Crono and Marle are looking down at Grandia when ALL OF A SUDDEN MONSTERS ATTACK! Then out of no where LAVOS APPEARS AND KIDNAPPS MaRLE. HE HAS TAKEN HER TO ANOTHER CASTLE . It seemed a bit, spontaneous :p.

You wake up in a strange woman's bed "Possibly an inn", who some how knows your name, but is aware that you don't know her's :p

I plan on playing some more though, but I've be come nitpicky in my recent years.

Another question is, how is the grinding? I know most rpgmaker games like to use it as the "meat" of the game, but I was wondering if you took the CT approach to grinding, which is, little to none, while placing you in the places you should be at the strength you should be at?

You don't have to grind too much. Just don't actively avoid battles, and you'll be fine.

Lavos is explained later in the game. I must admit, LAVOS HAS TAKEN YOUR PRINCESS would be quite hilarious. XD

a word of warning, when you switch between parties, your characters keep whatever HP/MP they had when you were using them.  When I switched back to lucca and robo I almost died because robo had 100 HP from the last boss fight and I never got a chance to heal him.  Not a big deal, just make sure to check the status screen when you switch parties :)

By the way, save transferring DOES work, so for those that picked up the game early or in case there is another patch made, just copy your save01.lsd file from the old game and paste it into the new game and you're ready to go.

Game is picking up, I'm on the new continent with marle.

but no, you don't HAVE to. :-)

Back on topic:    I get the impression that I can't play RPGMaker games on Mac... is there any sort of emulator program that I can use, or do I need Windows on hand?  Surely we've got other Mac users here who are literate in such things.

Great to see these projects see the light of day and make it into circulation.  Real spit in the face to the Powers That Be.  I remember trying to put things together with RPG Maker and Fighter Maker when they were released for PSX.  Failed miserably!  Continue to be impressed with the fan-made products that come out of this community.

This looks cool, I will be playing it for sure! A question though, is there any way at all to have this NOT default to full screen? I have a dual monitor setup, and when I run the game, it causes all the icons on my left monitor to get shoved up along the top of my monitor, and it is really quite irritating. Any ideas?

[Back on topic:    I get the impression that I can't play RPGMaker games on Mac... is there any sort of emulator program that I can use, or do I need Windows on hand?  Surely we've got other Mac users here who are literate in such things.

I haven't actually downloaded the game yet, but RPGMaker is a Windows-only program, so I'd assume the game is a Windows-only executable. There are three ways that you can go about running Windows executables on a non-Windows machine, none of them ideal:

1. Use WINE (http://www.winehq.org/), which is a Windows compatibility layer...but Lance's game may not run on it (most versions of RPGMaker itself--not created games--are marked as "Silver" in WINE's application database, meaning that they kinda-sorta-maybe-almost work, and the games thus created may have the same problem). And there's the additional problem that installing WINE on a Mac is more complicated than installing it on a Linux system like mine--it has a number of dependencies. Fink (http://www.finkproject.org) may be of some help in this regard, if you want to try this route.

2. Install Windows inside a virtualization program such as VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org). You need an actual Windows install disc for this.

3. If you have an Intel Mac, set up a Windows dual-boot--this gives you maximum compatibility at the cost of maximum inconvenience. I don't know the exact procedure--plug Mac "boot camp" into Google and see what information it gives you.

If all this scares you, wait a few days and I'll see if I can make the time to download the thing and tweak WINE into loading it.

Couldn't get it from the RPG-Maker site, but got it from the Megaupload site.

Can't wait to play it and critique it.

Update: I'm surprised that Squeenix hasn't slammed us yet.  I mean, you ARE borrowing their characters, aren't you?  Not so much the tilesets or the majority of the Tech animations, but you are definitely doing some borrowing here.

This looks cool, I will be playing it for sure! A question though, is there any way at all to have this NOT default to full screen? I have a dual monitor setup, and when I run the game, it causes all the icons on my left monitor to get shoved up along the top of my monitor, and it is really quite irritating. Any ideas?
F4 switches it from fullscreen, F5 selects resolution.

I know about that, my issue is that it DEFAULTS to full screen, so every time I start the game, it is full screen. Yes I can set it to windowed, but the damage is already done, and my icons are already shoved into the corner. I want to know if there is a way to have the game start already windowed, not full screen.

EDIT: From what I have read on this, the game maker can choose what the default is. Any chance you can just uncheck that full screen option and reupload the game?

... PROBLEM

Ok I defeated Fargo today (Tough bastard), but Frog was the only one living. I proceed to go to the town so I can rest up and then frog leaves my party to get cider... I get the gameover screen. I think it's because my two other characters are dead.

Anyway, that sucks rather hard lol.

As of right now I am rating the game a 7/10 as of what I have played so far (And I am ignoring that bug/whatever you wanna call it).

I will give a full review upon completion.

That would take two hours at minimum. I'm out of town this weekend. Sorry. IF you can get a copy of RM2k3, you can open the game and change it yourself.

I run dual screen myself, and as long as you quit the game normally and don't alt tab out or anything like that your icons will go back to their normal spot.  I'm on Win7 though, dunno if that makes a difference or not.

Found a NICE grinding area if it's needed, when you get to the red moon village on the way to get the swords in that cave, in the first room go up and left to that doorway with the reptite that starts a fight with 5 of them.  Equip crono with the magic pendant, hit auto battle, he will use lightning 2 and kill them all in one hit.  Go in the door then come back out.  Use an ether once you're out of magic.  If you're quick enough you can do 4 battles per minute, which comes out to 10,800EXP per minute.  Before I realized it I had accidently gained 10 levels

So, I downloaded this thing the other day, and there was music for the title screen and stuff, but there wasn't any music during the opening scene, or when Lavos took the princess to another castle, or when Crono woke up in that inn, or when I got to the world map. Was that an artistic choice or a bug?

Finally had a chance to get into this a little. Color me impressed! Even though I consider myself pretty jaded (I guess all of us would), the game brought out strong pangs of nostalgia. Something about going into the first shop in Sealo and reading the equipment descriptions really affected me. I wanted to do a recording of the first boss and toss it up on Youtube, but alas, somehow I captured twenty minutes of video that were rendered completely impotent by random black frames. I was too worried about causing fits of epileptic seizures to upload, forgive me! I wonder what Fraps does differently from Camstudio; could have been the FPS setting I recorded with too.

Chrono Alter is an excellent and worthy fan effort. Here are some issues I'd point out in case you'll be able to address them in your next project:

1. Transitionary tiles, especially for rounding of pathway edges. Taking another look at Sealo Forest I think you did well with the transitions from grass to dirt paths there (still a bit too much squareness in the transition from animated to non-animated grass tiles though).  But in the first two towns the lack of transition from grass to other features, like pathways and buildings, really stands out. I'd have to guess that most of the resources were lifted from Seiken Densetsu III or Tales of Destinry, both of which should have everything you need. The question is how constrained your tileset space is for each environment.

2. Ah, man, those NPC animations! Chrono Trigger sprites simply weren't meant for three-frame animation in many cases, and seeing them in motion here really brought that point home. Looks like you often had two frames flowing naturally, but then you'd have to skip a frame that was present in Chrono Trigger to maintain a three-frame animation limit. Is there any possibility of creating some kind of custom script to expand the number of frames per animation? If so, I think the game's aesthetic would improve considerably next time around.

The battle animations turned out very impressive for attacks (I love that sword dive in Crono's "Cyclone!"). I suspect making enemies animate in-battle isn't an option in RPGMaker currently, but is there anything you can do for the main characters' idle poses? It seemed to me that Marle animated much more smoothly than Crono or Frog do, because she gets three frames for her idle pose IIRC whereas Crono and Frog seem to have two.

3. Helpful gameplay tweaks I immediately saw the need for:

*Some NPCs move so fast they're difficult to catch up to. For example, I had a hilariously difficult time talking to that lady who offers Crono a free stay at her house in Sealo; it was literally a ten second game of cat-and-mouse for me. However, I don't recall having this problem with NPCs who are milling about around town -- could have something to do with their walk paths. The lady who took Crono in was walking and making turns rapidly, whereas outdoors NPCs seemed to be either stationary or at least had limited motion.

*I'd love to see dead time during battles eliminated completely -- too much time is spent waiting for a character's ATB to fill up , and I wonder if there's some way to make the battle engine jump to the next character or enemy's turn. Doesn't mean you necessarily have to have a non-ATB setup like Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy X; Xenogears had a most excellent compromise between ATB and battle speed. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6GIp5IV410) Maybe there's a battle speed option I skipped over that addresses this though.

I really enjoyed having USB game controller support! At least RPGMaker allows you that much.

Just to clarify when I go hunting for extra endings, are there four MORE endings once you start new game plus, or is it 3 new ones plus the normal ending you get from beating the game?  Also, are any of the portals possible to miss permanently?  Besides the first one at the start of the game obviously.

Well Faust really put everything I was going to say in a nutshell.

But I also want to express some of my problems with the scripting. Some of it seems a bit sub-par. One line I can't stand is Glenn's: "The failure from Zeal?" Sorry, but the line seems a bit off-tune with Frog's personality. Maybe it's just me. Either way, my full review will come later and please don't take any of what I have said the wrong way. I am trying to help you improve.

Of all the animations in the game, the only ones I made were the Gates, Darkbomb, and Crono's Cyclone. n.n

There isn't much I can do about the transitionary tiles. That's an Rp2k3 Chipset thing, and considering I don't know how to format them, there isn't a way I can fix it.

Battle animations with the characters all have three frames, only Marle has a third frame that differs from everyone else.

Animated enemies are possible, but eliminate the possibility for scrolling backgrounds, and are VERY difficult to code.

I know there is a way to make overworld chars have more than three frames, but I don't know how to do it. This may be fixed, as the CT3 engine hasn't been 100% decided on yet. If I decide to go with XP, everyone will have four frames on the field  maps.

The NPC walk speed was my bad. D:

The dead time in battles is difficult to get rid of because the speed values of Rm2k3 are weird.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll see what I can do to address all of these in CT3!

There's one in the Prehistoric cave with Lucca and Robo. There's one in a mansion (Forget which one, I think it's Revar's). You can open it after you get the Epoch. The last one is in a cave just west of the Borean Region.

Playing on new game plus now, when I recruited marle she for some reason got at least a 7 level bonus, and is now level 63 while crono is only 56.  Not really a big deal since it's new game plus, just thought I'd post it for review.  I assume this happens because in the normal game when marle is recruited, you take her initial level and then add a number to it, so that she is on equal footing with the other characters.

One thing I do love about this game is that it is challenging me more than a normal game. I find myself using items out the ass and I have never done that in any other game. I don't actively avoid battles either so I am good in that regard...

Actually (as it turns out), when I first downloaded it, the computer couldn't recognize it as a "valid win32 application".  This was the result of downloading it from a computer different from my own.

So I downloaded to MY computer, and now it runs like clockwork.

Problem solved.  Looking forward to commenting on it.

Just started playing it and already at the first boss.  What do I think so far?

- In battle, an animated gif for a hit is applied to "Miss".
- Is it constantly blustery in the forest level?
- The Cyclone Tech looks choppy.
- How can bats fly w/o flapping their wings?
- Would you like a script writer for your next RPG-making adventure?

It's only what I saw so far.  Other than that, it's a great endeavor so far.

To be continued... Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!

For anyone who would like to do the alternate endings after beating the game, feel free to download my save file.  I spent about 45 minutes grinding in what I call the Dino Cave.

Crono - lvl 95
Marle - lvl 99 (MAX)
Magus - lvl 65
Glenn - lvl 72
Lucca - lvl 75 (MAX)
Robo - lvl 75 (MAX)
Ayla - Not really useful without magic, so she's only level 33.

All characters have their best potential equipment on, magus is using the Magic Pendant.  I have the epoch parked outside of the Revar mansion, which is where one ending is, the other one you can do is that island where the dude was talking about Zeal.  After you beat one of them you can start another new game plus and do the ending at the beginning of the game and the one in prehistoric times, though I honestly don't think even at max level Lucca and Robo are strong enough to defeat the final boss by themselves.  I have max of every item besides elixir and mega elixer.  Enjoy!

Enjoy!
Shit, son.

Shit.

I just did the ending at the start, that one was easier than I thought it would be, but then again Crono looks like Goku and he had over 9000! hp.

The ending with just Lucca and Robo was insanely hard but totally worth it.  Probably the best ending I've ever seen actually.  I saw a brief glimmer of hope when Alya appeared next to them before the fight, but alas she was just standing there watching, and wasn't in the actual battle.  Robo only had 4600 HP at max level so I had to put him in the back row.  I almost lost several times the final boss used meteor followed immediately by blackhole, lucky me it missed every time (he did manage to kill me once though).  Robo using shock actually made it possible to damage the top half somehow, and if I would've had Crono and company with me I would've seen how much HP you assigned to it haha.

One more to go!

I could have sworn I had fixed that and included Ayla in that fight...

Yeah she appeared before and after but when the actual battle started she was nowhere to be found.

Curious, perhaps its a  resolution setting of mine. When i run this game, i have a flashing black bar going horizontally across my screen.  Very annoying. Any suggestions? I tried taking a screen shot but the shots dont take the picture fast enough to catch it.

You can change the resolution by hitting F5/F4. Try that.

hitting F4 to go to 800x600/windowed mode, is a work around, thank you.  hitting f5 works, until a new event starts, i.e new music, a new sprite on the screen, entry to battle. hitting f5 will clear this bar, but you will have to do it every time something changes. not a huge deal i can still enjoy this game in window mode, thanks for the help.

In case it helps to resolve this issue, im running windows xp home sp 3 my com is pretty old, IBM NetVista,  800 mhz processor 256 meg ram (my old one crashed this is just a back up toy :( )

Even though I risk alienating myself in a community in which I have no footing or respect, I second this veiled suggestion. The plot isn't what I have a problem with, it's actually the language and characterization associated with the cast. Obviously there was a lot of effort put into this game, there is no question about that, however, it would have packed a stronger punch had there been more time spent on characterization. After all, a story is a good story when the characters are round enough to tell it, and so far, it's been mildly lackluster.

I'll do a full review upon completion, but it'll probably lend itself heavily to the English side of things.. And yes, English majors unite! Bwahaha. =D

There is no easy way for me to put this and I've tried over a couple of days.
The skeleton of this project is greatly organized and I really enjoy CT in this engine.
The new battle effects are FANTASTIC!
Okay, so...I've been using RPG Maker for several years now and I...am HOPING I can help out
on this project.
I realize this has been released already, but in my mind it's CT DS all over again. It's a GOOD
start but this could be SO much more polished.
Here is the opening scene with a bit more of CT's map direction.
(I have never used image tags, so this might be embarrassing.
If it doesn't work here is the url: http://imgur.com/ZYWHb)
I've edited several maps and much of the dialogue.
I'm really sorry if this is offensive or if I'm overstepping boundaries, I just truly love the Chrono stories
and want the same level of quality for all releases.
I guess that's it from me now.

EDIT: Sorry, I should also have said that I'm willing to upload more pictures if they're wanted.
I would stop working on that right now if I were you. Why, you ask? Because you'd be much more useful helping me with the sequel.

I could really use people like you. I'm aware my mapping isn't the greatest; that's why I want level designers and people to help me.

So, seriously, check those out and give me a shout over AIM or PM.

I've never heard of these bugs. I think RPG Maker just doesn't like Haste.

Ginger, that's a very rare bug that can happen in any RPG Maker game. This is the first time it's happened to any of my games, though. It's just really rare. I can see if I have a save file I can send you that might be close to where you were.

G4brial, I'm not sure why it does that. It just goes black, and that's it?

I'm having trouble with this one dungeon. I found two switches on the lowest level of this dungeon and pressed them both to proceed and entered a room where Lucca told me to check everywhere for switches. I got up to the next floor and was greeted to a blocked path. I went back down and searched for more switches but was unable to find any.

Okay, I just finished losing to the final boss with the Lucca/Robo combination for the second time. After it cast meteor on me twice in a row I gave up on winning that ending because that fight is unreasonably hard. Yes, I know there's a bug and Ayla should be there but I've given up on that thing. I beat the other endings and found only Crono's ultimate weapon, but I played a good chunk of the game.

My thoughts on the game is that it's okay, but riddled with flaws. The story is okay, but it's lowered a lot by poor pacing and characterization. The whole "OMG LAVOS" at the beginning is an example of things happening on too grand a scale waaaaay too fast. There are certain plot moments in games that made me step back and go, "You know, this is pretty ridiculous." That moment was on the same level as the whole "I have an evil twin brother" thing in Final Fantasy XII and the whole "We're all from the same orphanage and the sorcress was our babysitter but we got amnesia from our summons" from Final Fantasy VIII. And yeah, Haste never working was annoying.

That said, I think there were some very cool parts of the game. I totally dug the first forest map and the 2300 AD map. The background music was pretty kickass throughout, and I did think the King Zeal boss fight was a pretty inspired move, and pretty awesome. Actually, all of the boss battles in the final dungeon were pretty awesome. The Magus fight was pretty cool too, but the whole "controlled by a magic spell" thing was on the same level of the other plot devices mentioned above.

The nice thing about Chrono Trigger/Cross is that with the whole "parallel dimension" thing, you can basically consider any fan work a form of canon in just another random parallel dimension. I think this is a nice contribution, but I'd reconmend making an updated version and fixing a few flaws. Also a cool idea would be an optional boss battle with Goku (unless there is one and I just didn't find it). At first the Goku's grave thing fell into "evil twin brother" category, but I thought to myself, "You know, that'd be an awesome boos battle.

Heh, thanks for playing. With the game being a remake of my earlier, god-awful work, I used enough of a new story, but still manged to have it be a remake.

I desperately wanted an excuse to have a Magus fight. XD

And Crono vs. Goku? He'd kill you. Dead. =P

But regardless, thanks for playing! :D

Yeah Lucca Robo was very difficult, try moving robo to the back row for that fight.  If you're max level Lucca in the front row and Robo in the back should both be able to survive meteor if they are at full HP.  From there you just use an elixir or mega elixir and you're good to go.  Robo's Shock also does some weird stuff, I think it lowers enemy stats or something, cause after I used it I was able to inflict damage on schala.  Try using that right off the bat, it might up your chances for survival.

Title: Re: Chrono Alter Release - Download Inside!

To Lance: Yeah. Goku would destroy anybody as a boss battle. You could always write it as "Goku going easy on you", which has been done in basically every Dragonball Z story arc ever. That way it could be a hard boss battle that allows you to win some rare item.

To Dinos: And yeah, I had Robo in the back row and still got slaughtered (I even had the characters maxed out since  I was using your save file). I guess I'll try using shock.

Edit:

To Dinos: Just beat the boss with Lucca and Robo. I don't know why I was able to win but I was. I did use shock like you suggested. Maybe Shock makes them less likely to use meteor, because they only used it like 5 times that entire battle wheras the last time I tried they used it 10 times in a row. Honestly, meteor is the make or break move in those boss battles. Even at max health that thing still knocks me out. I used a megalixer at one point and the thing did meteor directly after and still killed Lucca. I went "WTF?" in frustration and had to do a series of turns revivngs people killed by meteor and then healing to catch up.

To Lance: That ending was pretty awesome, though. The minute I heard it I knew it was gonig to be "that song". If the game was a C before, it just shot up to a B because of that. Pretty awesome.

Yeah I don't know what shock is it seems pretty magical though.  The first time I did that battle I didn't even HIT the boss, because he used meteor over and over and over until I died.  2nd time I used shock and it like, calmed him down.  lol

After I used shock I was able to hurt schala with flare as well.  Didn't try normal attacking her since I was battling for my life, but I thought about loading up another save and fighting her with Crono Glenn Robo Marle.  How much HP did you give her?

Alright I just killed her, nothing happened though just her sprite disappeared from the screen.  Took me like 20 minutes to kill her though so I cut a lot of the movie out, basically just the beginning method and a few minutes before she dies.  She kept using cure2 but it didn't stop robo's fists of fury.  I couldn't get fraps to recognize my sound card so, just pretend you're hearing the lavos theme. :)

Did you un-equip your weapons?

Yeah, I did a test run and when the characters were using weapons they couldn't actually hurt lavos.  When I took them off though I was about to hit in the 400s typically, since Glenn and Crono had around 650 attack power.  For some reason Robo was able to hurt her though even with his Terra Arm on, I found that out midway through the fight by accident.

Also note that Magus appears before the fight, but he was not present.  He also appeared after the battle finished as well but I didn't upload that part of the video.

I'll be releasing an updated version of Alter in a week or so. This will fix some bugs, such as the Haste bug, floating Lavos Mouth, and so on.

Also, I'll be adding some DLC, such as a new playable character.

To be honest I never played a full RPG maker game, this will be definitely the first one I will try to.

I played some yesterday. It is pretty decent (I've made my way to Marle), battles are not too hard nor too easy.

There are something you might want to change:

1. Sound effects are too loud while music volume is a bit low.
2. Tanya moves too fast IMO, like she's in a panic in her room.
3. When you enter Sealos castle, the 2 guards keeps saying something and moving to the left and right side, as long as you wander in that room. Maybe you should let the event entity disappear.
4. I recall a NPC in the town to the south of Sealos castle has a strange border when he/she face a direction, I guess the picture is not in correct size.

My biggest annoyance in the entire game was the fanfare. It sounded loud and distorted, as if two fanfares were playing at once. Otherwise I was very pleased soundwise.

Also, Lance, this is my first time playing through an entire RPG Maker Game as well.

Yeah, I never should have changed the fanfare. These will all be addressed in the updated version that'll be out soon.

Thanks for the comments guys! Thanks for playing! :D

Hey, why Lucca has more HP than Robo? That is strange.  :P

Some minor problem: when you enter the world map, Crono changes his graphics to the small version, but there seems to be 1 frame delay that you can still see the big version. And in a rainy town, the rain effect has the same problem, I don't know whether it is a bug of RM.
Before I got on the ship after defeating Magus, I controled big Crono on the world map again...

Yeah, that's something I didn't fix. I'd have to alter a shitload of coding to fix it, some I'm just going to fix it in Chrono Echoes. It's an RPG Maker thing. Chrono Echoes won't have that problem.

There's a bug where if you save your game on the world map and then load it up, you'll be on the world map as regular sized Crono instead of map sized Crono. Personally, I'm a big fan of this bug and suggest leaving it in.

Yeah that was in my bug list from the beta, but you definitely should be able to fix it for CE, which I just realized has the initials CE. Convenient, considering the source material!

I was wondering, is RPG Maker 2003 available only for PC? I was hoping I could put it on Wii somehow and play off the TV instead of at my computer screen... yes or no?

I heard there were a few systems it develops for. I think one of more recent releases adds a PS3 edition.

Intro

I just want to say that in chrono alter i made Glenn in hes Human Form, if your gonna complain like someone else just complain now, before i finsh all of it.

I just want to say that in chrono alter i made Glenn in hes Human Form, if your gonna complain like someone else just complain now, before i finsh all of it.

I just want to ask ...why? I can understand maybe switching out a song or something, but switching out entire spritesets are a pain in the ass, plus it's not your work. Why not just make your own game where you use Glenn in his human form (if you know what you're doing in RPG Maker, you might as well), or wait for Chrono Alter's sequel, which I believe will have Glenn in his human form(if you don't know what you're doing in RPG Maker, you might as well)?

Either of those options seem more practical than changing an obscure part of someone else's fan game.

I can't tell you DON'T DO IT, as it's not my game, and if it's just for personal use, and you don't plan on putting it anywhere for download then you shouldn't have even asked, honestly, but I did beta test for this game and don't think Lance would be cool with someone releasing their own version of HIS game.

I don't care what you do; it's an RPG Maker game. Just don't release it as some 'big' mod. Especially since CT2 features a human Glenn completely coded to BE a human. Not to mention it's part of the plot.
