Title: Chrono Trigger DS sprites
Post by: ZeaLitY on October 01, 2009, 09:30:06 pm
www.spriters-resource.com is down (it's mystifying that someone would let a domain name expire, what the fuck), and I have no idea if they had any Chrono Trigger DS sprites. Since I'm adding DS content to the encyclopedia right now, it's important to know whether we should wait for the site to go back up or just make do with what we have. (Which is nothing; for the new monsters, I'm taking the single bestiary image and doing that. Because fuck wasting personal time making sprites that no one is ever going to fucking use for anything, ever.)

So, anyone know whether CT DS was at that site?

Yeah, I'm really biting my fingernails here; I should have kept up to date on their forums for some sign of this, so I'm not sure what happened. They had the Smidges and the Dream Devourer, though we already have the Dream Devourer. I'll have to see if I saved their Smidge collection.

CT:DS also featured a huge collection of palette-swapped enemies in the monster arena, but Spriters Resource never had those to my recollection; should we bother with them?

Ugh, that's right...

Well, a listing will work for now. Someone else can deal with the sprites.

From what I recall, Spriter's Resource didn't have the complete Smidge sheet. No attacks, victory poses, or expressions, only standing, and maybe walking. I guess a good start, but nothing satisfactory.

I have to go to bed, but work resumes tomorrow at the speed of youth.

If anyone wants to help me, run your DS emulator on Poppy Bright coloring and take screenshots of all new monsters in the bestiary starting with #144 and up. Clean the background to white and save. Cleaning up these one sprites by removing the background is the most time-consuming part of editing the monsters encyclopedia right now.

Done. Skipped from Yakra to Lavos Core for obvious reasons, and Once-King Dalton uses an existing sprite.

Hah, I didn't expect it to actually happen. Congratulations. You'll definitively be in the update; this saved me a ton of time!
