Title: [DONE] Chrono Cross 10th Birthday - What do we do?
Post by: ZeaLitY on October 01, 2009, 12:41:25 pm
I'm going to do my best to get the Chrono Cross Wikipedia article on the front page of Wikipedia for the 10th anniversary in November, but what is the Compendium going to do to celebrate?

Something analogous to the Chrono Trigger 10th Birthday Tribute (http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Chrono_Trigger_10th_Birthday.html), maybe?

I could see entries like this:

20xx - A Chrono fan first floats the idea that Dalton caused the Fall of Guardia that helped set the stage for Chrono Cross.

2008: Rabid fans create a patch that graphically restores Magus to Chrono Cross, replacing Guile.

2009: Square Enix releases CT:DS, confirming that Dalton did indeed cause the Fall of Guardia and that Guile was probably Magus all along.

You could link to the "Rate the Characters of Chrono Cross" feature again. I guess we should be on the lookout for magnanimous Chrono Cross fanart we could employ. Synn definitely has some great pieces.

Making a similar feature sounds like a good idea. And we'll have it on the main page.

Not sure how but the huge CC character poll should be involved as well, maybe reopening for more input?

Funny, I was thinking of suggesting almost exactly that.  :)

Instead of re-opening it, make a fresh one. If you just heap the new votes on top of the old votes, the results would be pretty skewed. Preferences could have changed since the last poll, some of the people who voted in the last poll might not be with the site anymore, and we certainly have far more members than we did before. Start a fresh character poll, and it'd be a great way to see how perceptions of characters (especially with Dream Devourer Ending Links Magus to Guile? theory) have changed.

Yeah, I know I never voted in there.

I also have in work(not sure if I'll meet deadline though I'll try)a shell I found on a beach. It looks similar to the Frozen Flame! I was thinking of coloring it orange and getting in a picture?

Maybe I'll actually buy the CC soundtrack for this.  One of those things I've wanted to do for a rather long time but haven't really ever seen it happening any time soon.

Hmmm...anyone happen to have an exact date? I know the release was in 1999/2000, but when exactly? I tried looking it up on wikipedia and found the years.

Off the top of my head nov 16 but I'm also thinking 21, the US release must've been ap 21 or something not sure where I'm getting that.
