Title: Nightmare975's motherf***ing BSNES playthrough
Post by: nightmare975 on May 03, 2009, 04:34:53 pm
So after reading a post by Zeality, I decided to give Crimson Echoes a go.

Just to let people know, I'm using the latest non-released patch, so if that is a problem, please move this topic into another area.

Just wondering though, are the Hetakes supposed to look like this?

I think that's how the Hetakes looked when I played through. Does BSNES naturally have a really, really dark screen, or did you pause when you took that screencap?

I paused, I had to use the snip tool to get it. BSNES doesn't have a screenshot button.

Lucca's house didn't load.

Pretty much, I'll keep playing through to see if anything else is wrong.

No Z-Plane in Fiona's Forest.

I reached Chapter 1 without a hitch, so that's good at least.

I have to say that Golem Boss is a pain in the ass. His normal attacks don't aggravate me, it's his Iron orb. If the player can't keep their health up above 70, they're fucked in the end, no easy feat thanks to that attack.  JP NOTE: It's technically possible to beat him w/o levelling up once (i'm pretty sure I did that).  Just have to alternate omnishield shadow bolt  attack I think....and stock up on mid tonics

While grinding in Beast forest, I noticed that the beasts are having assembly problems, where their tiles seem to fall apart for split seconds at a time.

The Red Beast is the one who does it the most. I think i fixed it....i had to watch magus get pummeled for like 3 minutes w/o fast forward, it was painful

That's in ZSNES too. Sorry for not pointing that out before JP.

Mage has an attack that says "Lock All", but confuses instead.  JP NOTE explained below.

That damn mages attack is a horrible pain in the ass.  I think there's a bug in chrono tweaker that kills it everytime I use it.

I have a bug in the DB to fix it before we release (everyone can thank JLukas for tracking down how to fix it).

Not a glitch, more like a continuity error.

If the teleporter is one way, how is Agent 12 receiving the money for the items he sells you?

um.......puts it on their tab ........or the entity......

There'd be some slightly annoying bugs if we let them come back up through the teleporter so I said it was "one way"

Perhaps another Agent be on the Ocean Palace side?

BTW, Magus gets pwnd twice in a row, not cool man, not cool.

Crono is a dick and Truce Canyon fucked up.

uh.......I'm going to work on the assumption that is a bsnes issue and not a rom issue or someone would have reported it.....

Got a different ROM, Lucca's house loads fine. And I'll assume that Truce Canyon will as well.

 :picardno

EDIT:I love the new color scheme.

Don't be so sure yet, I'm only on "Murmurs of Red", something may come up sooner or later.

By the way, when talking to 605 Robo, could we have 605 Robo make a comment about Crono's dialogue, like "Crono, you appear to be unusually chatty than when I left you." or something to the effect.

EDIT: When saving the magic tunnel, game lists it in Present era.

Also, What the fuck happened here?

hrm, can someone debug room through zsnes to there and see if it repros.  Nightmare are you using the private build?  This usually happens when we use "blank tiles" that aren't the upper left tile.  and then later change that blank tile to something else and suddenly....it's not blank :)

also.....is that a text box or just the map?

Something like lolwut.PNG also happens at the end of Crono's flame dungeon, during the Lavos battle. Didn't notice anything like that in Marle's or Magus' dungeon.

oh jeepers it was the text box????

Were you using a certain style or default?  Do you still have an srm or save state?

No I don't, I kinda accidentally saved right after (accidentally because I was attempting to make a new save, but I fucked up) and BSNES doesn't have savestates. I was using the default style.

BTW, what the fuck is flying around in the Reptile future?

Also, what happened to that enemy? I know for a fact that it used to be orange.

The flying things are dusts from the ruined 2300 AD in CT, but I left them in because they look like shots or laser blasts; since the Reptites and robots are at war, this fits the situation.

The enemy color was me being creative with palettes :(

Was this one deliberate or an accidental result? I'm just wondering.

It's cool dude, we all tried things with this hack.

BTW, what is the average level for people on the Emerald Dream II? I want to know if I'm too weak or too strong.
