Title: Guardia's Royal Crest
Post by: SilentMartyr on April 23, 2005, 01:33:20 pm
What does it look like? For some reason I want to say there is a picture of it but I can't remember. Does anyone know where I could find it?

It's a black dragon on a field of red and gold (the red and gold being divided into equal segments left and right, vertically)
I can't remember where on the net there might be a picture, but there's on on the PSX ending, if you can find that.

Thanks, I knew it exsisted somewhere.

ZeaLity, If you can do a larger sized rip, it would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking about getting that for a tattoo, but the sized from those pics is a little small.

That's the default resolution, so it's as good as it gets. You can have someone probably approximate a design, though.

Wouldn't that be a Coat of Arms rather than a Crest?  A crest is a symbolic material posession passed down from generation to generation, such as what Lucca said in the beginning of the game "OMG isn't that HAIRPIN the Guardia Family Royal Crest?" or something like that.

If it is a coat of arms, which it most likely is, then the two colors represent joining of families, and the dragon represents power of the royal family.  I know this because my family's Coat of Arms is a green background with a blue stripe and a Large Tree, which symbolizes eternal earth, a river, and a motherlike figure (the tree).

It's a bot. Those are advertisement links, and it's email I know for a FACT is used for porn avertising.

There's another bogus account with the same IP address as well.  I'll have Zeality take care of this.

Yeah...when you're advertising pop-up like subject matter in your signature and website, it's a big hint that something is amiss...

I always assumed that Leene's coral pin had the royal crest on it rather than actually being the crest itself. One of the definitions for crest is "a device placed above the shield on a coat of arms", so that would mean the dragon itself is the crest.

(BTW, I suggest you remove the links and email from the bot's info so in the future people don't inadvertently click them. Just an idea though.)

Yeah, I kind of thought that Leene's pin was like an heirloom or something, which would be like a family crest on it or something.

I don't think it's a dragon you guys, I think it's supposed to be a representation of a dactyl. This would make more sense given that Ayla and Kino are Guardia's oldest ancestors and dactyl's were important to their society. I know it's not a big deal, but dragon could be just any old dragon, but if it is dactyls specifically then it seems a whole lot more significant and cooler =)

Indeed it resembles a Dactyl. Good point.

BTW, what about Zeal's?

Dinos and dragons are very similar, but the thing on the crest looks too noodly to be a Dactyl outright. It's a cool idea though, maybe it started out as a Dactyl but slowly stylized over time, like evolution!

The thing on the purple posters all over Zeal looks like the Mammon Machine to me.

[edit]Forgot a picture, there also looks to be some angel-type influence here.

Thanks. I didn't notice Mammon Machine before.
Maybe we'd say the mammon Machine looks like the Crest, not vice versa(but who knows).

Maggie, what about the crest seen in front of Zeal's Throne Room and in Bangor, Trann, Arris, and Keeper's Domes?

All those seal doors have the same Mammon Machine crest on them

It reminds me of this boss from Castlevania:

Graham Jones from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for GBA. That's his second form. He's the boss that determines which ending you get. If you equipped the right souls and defeated him, you'd go on to the canon ending, which can be changed depending on if you got ALL the souls or not.

In the first pic, which is a gameplay screenshot of the second form battle, I just have to say that Soma is so fucked that it's not funny.
