Title: 1999 AD.
Post by: Dialga_Palkia on February 10, 2009, 10:08:52 pm
(Man, it would've been great for a bonus dungeon...)

has anyone hacked into the game with an Action Replay and viewed the world map?

You can see a minimap on the Touch Screen when you watch the video of the Day Of Lavos, and when you actually witness Lavos' eruption (has to be when you travel to 1999 A.D. since the Black Omen is in Antiquity (Dark Ages) when it goes down, no matter which time period you're in. I guess they just didn't want to show Lavos erupting in any other time than in Antiquity when the Black Omen falls.

The 1999 AD world map is only done in the places where it shows Lavos's eruption and part of the attack.

I don't think it is complete.

Regardless of what that minimap shows you, it's still not complete.

Though I was making the map to the best of my ability a while back.

What, you scrapped the project?

Some shit happened and I decided to scrap the project.

Was pretty far too, only had Choras to do.

If it's because of what people said, who cares.  It's your project, you do what you want with it.

Most likely there was a fatal error that deleted a crapload of data, and he couldn't get it back.

Either way...

Quote from: Old proverb
If you fall down, get back up and keep going.

I'd say bring it back. If you can remake what was lost, you can keep going and finish.

It wasn't my project though.

I might try to restore the file if I can, finish it up and everything.

Whose project was it, then?

I might try to restore the file if I can, finish it up and everything.

That would be nice.

That thing took over five hours of looking at a goddamned DS screen, I'll be damned if I'm to do that again.

A shame; what you have so far is very impressive. Thanks for sharing what you had, though.

Well you have a reference to work from now that isn't a DS screen.

Wow... that map's pretty cool (albeit unfinished; but there's a quite a lot there).

Has no one made a full map of 1999(based on the DS map) on TF yet? I have one that's not quite finished, but I could go ahead and do the rest if anyone wants me to.

I think you mentioned a train station when you were talking about 1999AD before. Is that in there Alcyone?

No, I was just basing it off of the DS mini map.

Well, I made a 1999AD World Map for my RMXP Project:

It isn't 100% like the original, but, ya know, it's 1999AD yet.
Still, Alcyone made a great job!

Whoa! Didn't expect that! So even though there's a complete world map, the actual 1999AD world data is limited to only what you see in-game... Hmm... Thanks for sharing XZeroRus!

I don't know what that house is  but I want to know- how did you find it did it have a name? Maybe it's Gobb's house!

That is a really interesting find there. Isn't Gobb one of the beta names for a character (goblin I think ) back in the pre release? Hmmmm, I wonder what other unusable maps there are in the game?  Nice find.

Ugh, fucking Megaupload. Did anyone save whatever those were? Were they new, undiscovered content or something?

If memory serves me correct, didn't the megaupload file consist of images of the supposedly Gobb's house? I sort of recall an image with two unused rooms that featured; two beds, a staircase with a bed upstairs, Crono and Lucca ( no third party member ) and a mini map for the house.  Perhaps we should hack into the beta of CT for the DS?

woot thanks a bunch.

I think I was the one that suggested it was Gobb's house but that was just a guess. I know that house is not in the SNES version and upon viewing it again it's rather large the only 3 story house in the game.(well at least I think)

It was made for the DS and it appears fairly complete with the exits all working except for the entrance/exit on the bottom floor, I wonder why it wasn't used and what it's purpose was? Whatever it is it was scrapped before they made a mini map for it.

What perplexes me even more is they made this huge, working house that didn't appear in game, they made the mini map of 1999 A.D. but they couldn't have actually made the 1999 map!?

Still on the house the second floor consists of tons of tables lined up together maybe a great dining hall, or a meeting place. There is a desk on the first floor by the entrance which made me first think it was an elaborate inn. Than there's a kitchen on the upstairs and two pianos. Interessssting!
