Title: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: maggiekarp on October 22, 2008, 10:21:31 am
What happened to the "lolchrono" thread? Since it was moved here I guess something like this goes here... Anyway, just randomly decided to make these, but I kinda want to see what other folks come up with, too. If you want to make some of your own the generator's here. For the Uzzi Sword, I still say the Robo's fist should be edited to be Crono's sword to make it look cool and not weird Morphing Uzzi Sword Fist Thing (because that Tech name would be too long)...
Title: Re: CT Motivationals
Post by: Shadow D. Darkman on January 12, 2009, 11:19:23 am
That's why it's called Uzzi Sword. It's shooting out Robo fists to pwn the enemy with.

Interesting, to say the least. Will make some when I get home. Mainly because I'm afraid someone will find it here... (did I mention that I'm a bit paranoid sometimes?)

"Official Artwork" and "Imagination" are my favorites in this thread so far.  My turn.

The Marle's Chest one is verra OLD'D...pretty much as soon as anyone sees that art they think of that same exact joke...

Oh yeah, and I modified the topic title in case anyone wanted to make ones for RD or CC.

Here's a CC one for Kid.

And one for Serge.

For Serge's, I had many different ways to put the Witty Comment in, but they were a bit on the no-no side so I omitted them.

There are generators for these damn things? What a sad, sad internets we live in...

Oh, and so far I'd have to say that Tact's is the only one that's genuinely funny. Why can't you be more like him, Shadow? He started out annoying & ended up one of the better new members! Can't you mentor him or something, Tact?

Dictionary.com says that the action of eloping is to run off secretly to be married, usually without the consent or knowledge of one's parents.

We're getting married and you're not invited. And to further the mood of marriage...

Shadow Duské Darkman

This is what the note says.

Quote from: Shadow's Letter
Schala,

If you are reading this, then I was successful. I don't know if you saw me, or, if you did, if you recognized me. Either way, I succeeded, and that's what matters.

I just wanted to make sure you were aware that Janus and I have arrived and are ready to return you to Zeal when you are ready. Between locating you and writing this I have learned that you are currently leading this country. As I know the major countries, I know you will not be in power forever, or as long as you live.

The harlequin that attacked you is dead. Zeal is still there, though it seems to be missing in this era. Once your term is up, you will need to make a decision. Either remain here, or return to Zeal and return things to as they were before the harlequin interfered. I can't dictate to you which decision to make, but I trust you will make the right one.

Forever Yours, Beyond Time, Space, And Dimensions,

Shadow Duské Darkman

Winner is me.

I mean, c'mon, how many calories are you gonna burn putting a black boarder around something & typing one thing in big letters & one thing in smaller letters under a pic you Google (or nab from the Compendium)?

And also stop with the equally stupid ones about members of the Compendium.

Yeah, I went out of my way to make one that wasn't supposed to be funny (just noticed it kind of works for the cover pic itself though in a way...again still not in a funny way)...kind of ironic...but like said, they don't have to be funny (though it's obvious when people try & fail)...but they shouldn't be of horrible quality...and it'd also be nice if they were of a medium size (again, teaflower just made two good examples), but I realize monitor sizes vary and that most are bigger than mine (& that people have connections that are faster than mine...V_V)...
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals

I usually try and make them proportionate to the size of the image. The site I got the Janus and Glenn off of shrank them, and blowing them up made them look funny.

If you ask me, even though they aren't perfect, made by hand in Paint > generator. They have heart in them!

Not going to make one right now. The class period is almost over and I need to leave after this class.

It's the girls that they mess with. There's a scene in the OAV of Tokyo Babylon where Subaru's sister (Hokuto, if I remember correctly) sits on a scale and it either shows 99 or 66. But she freaks out and is like, "I'll never have a husband because I'm so fat!" Let me look up Rutee's information... actually, she's normal at 18.7. Leon, her suicidal little brother, is 19.0. Freaky, eh? I thought Rutee would be worse...

Yeah, she's underweight, but I don't think she'll be unable to stand.  LOL
In RD, she can even walk on a bambo scaffold floating above the water.
Perhaps they just want to make a swift/agile thief character, as light as a cat...

If she can't stand, how about Leena:

93lbs/42kg

And it seems most CC characters are lighter than their looks,

What? Are you so unfamiliar with American comic books? It's for males (for the most part) by males (for the most part).

Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: mav on January 23, 2009, 01:02:41 pm
Aye, realistic proportions are boring, but when the characters don't look disproportionate (like Leena), yet their weight:height ratio is absurd, something's wrong. I mean, isn't a petite girl around 130lbs if they're 5'9"? And at 5'8", Zappa looks like he'd weigh over 200lbs...I'm sure it's all oversight, but that's still pretty terrible.
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: V_Translanka on January 23, 2009, 01:06:33 pm
Zappa's just top-heavy from working the forge though, isn't he?
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: mav on January 23, 2009, 01:13:09 pm
I guess--that'd correspond more to his given weight: a large-framed man at 5'8" could be anywhere from 152lbs-172lbs. But he doesn't look large to me--he looks pretty hefty, and damn muscular, so I still wouldn't be too surprised if his weight is off too.

Yeah, I could have found a better pic to show the wackiness that Psylocke's proportions (I was more going for her skinniness) can get, but I liked that the pic showed some of the others as well (wtf is going on with Bishop in that pic?? for instance).

If you're going to try fake dialog boxes from the game, why not use one of its fonts? *shrugs*
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals

because I didn't have the font. don't think I didn't think of it.
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: mav on February 14, 2009, 05:14:55 pm
Well, you could have taken the font as an image and just arranged the text manually. It's tedious, but I've done it for a couple things.

Anyhow, that cosplay one was ridiculously hilarious.
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: idioticidioms on February 14, 2009, 05:18:45 pm
I've done that before, and it ends up looking like shit because of the way the textbar gradiants are arranged. I'd rather just use a different font than to fuck up both the font and the textbar.

so I tried the Chicago Font I was linked to, but I don't think it much looks like the font in CT, but it is closer than the other ones. bloody picky people, lol.

I was joking, Trans, no need to take me so seriously. I tried to get the CT font, because I would like to have it, not because you guys said I should. And, I guess not, but it is pretty funny.

1) Because Serge is a fisherman's son, not a farmer. He only knows how to row a boat, not how to harvest wheat.

2) That's not a dress, that's a poncho.

;)
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: teaflower on February 23, 2009, 10:51:10 am
I've worn ponchos before. I wore pants/shorts under them. Later, I used my poncho to walk on my knees like a Tonberry. But... the scythe is still awesome and when Serge first turns into Lynx he gets to hit things with his scythe!

... dammit. EPIC is off center. Oh, well.

I'm honestly a bit surprised no one has posted this yet:

And I'm afraid I have to disagree with that statement. CT > SW. Magus could take Darth Vader any day.
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: Shee on April 21, 2009, 06:53:35 pm
Wow, that is awesome...as soon as I saw Magus had a guitar I said to myself, "That better be a bass..." and it was!!!  I bet he could throw down a mean slap line.  I'm assuming Lucca and Robo are the pyro crew?  Ayla as the drummer is perfect (us drummers are the best, give it up!) and Marle as singer/sex appeal is perfect too.  This leaves me with one question:

Is Crono of Frog lead guitar?  Or are they both leads?  This is important!
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: Zephira on April 21, 2009, 07:11:32 pm
Crono's probably lead, Frog is rhythm, and Magus is just awesome. Although, I kinda wish he could have been lead guitar instead..
Lucca and Robo are the sound technicians. Maybe Robo's running Mac, and has Soundtrack Pro installed.

I think the boys should do backup singing too. What's between duet and quarter? Tri-et?

Umm... Trio?

Amazing fanart! I would've loved to see Magus singing too, though. I inmediately thought of Type O Negative's Peter Steele... Killing bass and that voice from beyond the grave... perfect  :D

And I'm afraid I have to disagree with that statement. CT > SW. Magus could take Darth Vader any day.

Totally agree with you there

It probably wasn't posted because people had more sense than to post a bigass pic like that...V_V

Anyways...Lucca should have converted Robo into 2 turntables or something...have him do a Laser Spin lightshow while he's at it...I always thought that Tech belonged in a disco (OMG now I want a little spinning Robo night light!)...

It's extremely disappointing to go through all this thread and see "attachment deleted by the admin" on every post for 5 pages between pictures... That being said, some of the ones still up are quite good.

But look at Serge. 5'11 or something and 128 lb? I'm 5'8'' and 123, so that might not be saying much...

Holy crap. That boy needs a sammich.

I think it's because attachments have a short half-life...You're really not missing much (certainly nothing I would have wanted the Compendium to continue to host). Unless people start learning how to resize or use preview pics, I don't think people should stop using attachments...

For some reason all I could think of was the slowed-down version of the 6teen theme. (http://www.tindeck.com/listen/ozgm)

So all the others are rocking out but then Marle comes in with this unbelievably deep voice, "LIFE BEGINS AFTER SCHOOOOOL..."

It's inconsistent. She starts the tech by casting ice, Crono changes it into fire somehow. Maybe it's electrified water.

Uh, I'll do a motivational tomorrow...
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: Mr Bekkler on May 06, 2009, 02:18:00 am
Notice Heckran in 12,000BC...

(also the fire never comes from Marle's finger, their costumes are wintery, almost nobody has triple techs when they fight Heckran, and when they do, it's before you can get Frog, and it's in a cave, and it's in 1000ad.)
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals
Post by: V_Translanka on May 06, 2009, 04:06:39 am
I always thought it was supposed to be on Death Peak...Though you're right about Heckran not supposed to be there...I imagine they all do have more than one set of clothes that the sprites just can't show (hey! more ideas for more sprite sheet edits! Chrono Trigger: Winter Clothes Edition!)...

But if you'll also notice when Marle casts Ice, it comes out as blue fire before the line actually hits an enemy and forms a big chunk of ice...same happens with a few of her double techs as well. But in Arc Impulse the colors swap for w/e reason...maybe a coding mistake, maybe to make it match the cover art, maybe the Entity did it, maybe it's MAGIC...!!

In CT DS, there're  snow beasts look like Heckrans( different palette ) on the snow mountain which uses Singing Mountain as the background music.
Although, the art came out before  CT DS.

HOLY CRAP!
Do you realize what this means?!!!!!
SE can see into the future!
Why else did they plan all the spinoffs of FF7, have the cover of CT the way it is, have secret endings to Kingdom Hearts games always be what the next game is, not release FF2, 3, or 5 right away into the US, always team up early on with the systems that wind up selling the most, and many other examples?!!!!!!
THEY BE CASTING THEIR FORESIGHT SPELLS!
Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals

Title: Re: Chrono Motivationals

Or that they featured most games on the SNES, which ended up selling extremely well, and they did the same with the Playstation, which also sold well.
