Their personalities are very similar, and in all retrospect they seem to be the equivilants of each other for the two games (such as Frog and Glenn, Lucca and Luccia, Ayla and Leah, etc.). So, whom do you like more, Marle or Leena?
For me it'd have to be Marle.

I feel like we've already been over this...We probably went over them in the Crono v. Serge thread...Marle is outspoken & somewhat annoying...Leena is brash, abrasive & an overall d-bag...it kind of depends on which Leena you're referring to, but not by much...Not to mention...

To me, Leena was useless. I never used her. I preferred Poshul. Try a NG+ with the speed thing set to fast forward and Poshul walking around as the leader. He makes a funny noise.

shes probably my favourite chrono cross character and she is really helpful throughout the game

Oh yeah, and speaking of Crono & Serge...there's also the fact that Marle has better taste.

Yeah, but I knew almost everyone would say that and that's why I didn't include option three, "Death". Although I personally really liked Marle, don't see why everyone hates her so much. Leena, I can understand a little bit more, thank you V for reminding me of what was discussed in that topic, I pretty much helped push the whole "Leena is abusive to Serge, that's why he deals with the crap he deals with".
Forgot about that. I would've done someone else but with everyone else it's dead on obvious, this there isn't too much to go on as to which is better(without actually creating the topic). Frog would win, Lucca, the CT gang would overrall win. Now that I think of it though, who would be Kid's equivilant?

Erm, I'm obviously biased a bit to Marle, but I'm also of the fan-theory that Leena is her offspring in this particular plotline. Same element, same poses, looks like a little clone of Marle basically, plus the royal-ish name...
But Leena gets points detracted because she's basically just there to make you feel bad for picking Kid, OR just another way you can treat Kid like crap. The game rewards you for that, what the heck?
I feel like a lot can be said and done with both characters, though.

Leena is barely even a distinct personality...She's only got 3 unique Techs and they pretty much all suck. Marle at least had decent healing Techs, some weak, but multi-targeting, Ice Magic, and the (all but overhyped) Haste spell.

This thread gave me fits of laughter.. You ought to put some criteria for judging, or an option for an abstain vote for people who doesnt like them both..
As for me, I like Leena better, (Coastal village damsel>Tomboy princess), but obviously Marle is the more useful party member, and better company.. So now I dont know who to pick!!

Well, I didn't go with that third option for a reason. As you can see from the majority of people's comments it's been made rather clear that if that third option was there of neither/can't decide, then no one would really vote for either except maybe one or two people, because(I don't see how) everyone seems to dislike these two for one reason or another.
As for the whole criteria issue, hey, I've put that in my other threads and yet that seems to be the most ignored factor of the topic(except for if I put a "Other explain why" option). No one really seems to put any positive criteria on anything I've come to notice unless there is no choice but to put positive criteria upon it and so that's why I did that.

So, in recognition, I'd choose Leena. She's much more... Likeable. (And not fucking useless.)

And on top of that, adding a neither option takes away the fun of making a decision (even one you don't like).
I always hated Leena. She was too much of the girl-next-door type for me. And holy hell, she was dense and seemed pretty moronic. At least Marle had a dash of personality, and wasn't just there to fill a large roster.
