I didn't see a poll like this anywhere...so I decided it was up to me to post it!
There's a lot of options (perhaps too many?), and I'm pretty sure I covered every enemy. Just in case, I provided that nifty 'Other' option!
My personal favorites are the Naga-Ettes...obviously.
-
I wasn't sure if this was over all or appearance or what, so I just chose one that I kind of like. The Diablos is just neat for some reason. And they're easy. :D
-
Hmmm...what were they called...? Those things on Woe (& I think one or two other places...?) that would Lock you at the start, but give a lot of exp & such...? Well, since I can't think of it, I'll just go w/Nu (fuck yeah! leveling & gaining Tech Points in the Hunting Grounds is cake!)...
-
Does Spekkio count?
-
idk...I think of Spekkio as being kind of an optional boss...I mean, he's got the most powerful Techs, really...

Wouldn't these go in "Rubble/Shist/Pahoehoe/Shitake, etc."?
I vote on Free Lancers, cuz they got style.
-
Zeal Wall panels: the first time I fought them one of my layers were disabled on my emulator, so no cursor. I had no clue who I was fighting for a long time.
-
Reptites, yo. They're awesome. I wish Reptite was a choice of character in either game, but I'm okay with Draggy I guess...
-

Nope, Spekkio is a boss. Plus, he's got many different forms, and I'm encouraging you to only pick one. Forcing you, in fact.

Those are Rubble.

I love all things Nu. 'Nuff said.
-
I like the Outlaws best. The idea of a sword-wielding bird in armor is just too cool for school. :D I also think Kilwalas are sooooo cute!
-
The Hetakes(the mushroom things in Guardia Forest)or the Omnicrone(big dude with Boba's helmet and a giant mace)!

Indeed, the Heatkes are cool.
Does it really look like Boba's helmet...? I never noticed.

Somewhat, only difference is that Boba's helmet doesn't have a cyclops eye in the middle. Other than that, he's Boba with a mace!

I'd say Lavos Spawn -- I count it as a tough enemy / mini-boss. However, if that's not an option in this poll, my next choice would be: Nu.
-
Naga-ette. I just like staring at them so much... it's sad when you have to make them turn red and disintegrate... :(
-
And just where do you stare exactly?

Huzzah! :D
C'mon, keep the one-word posts to a bare minimum (i.e. none).

Nu, because they're so quirky and surreal.

The Save Points had to be my most WTF?! moment in CT. Imagine, an 8-year old playing, when he suddenly is assaulted by the very things that worked to help him. Needless to say, I avoided save points up to Zeal, if only because I kept getting game overs, and was also getting into tons of trouble for leaving the SNES on while I was sleeping/at school.
Some kids feared the Boogie Man, I feared Save Points.
Edit: spelling errors

i will agree with and applaud the previous post because it is one damn good point

Yes, I was quite freaked out by that at first...but they're painfully easy to defeat, so I ended up liking them because they were just so random.
They didn't even have names!
-
I LOVED the save points. They're such good experience at that point in the game. If I'm starting a new game from scratch, I intentionally try to fall down the holes so I can fight em.

They are good and they give you ethers!
-
HOORAY FOR ETHERS!
I always keep a good amount of ethers with me. I even did in school!

Wha...? Now I'm confused.
-
Apparently ONSLAUGHT used to huff in school...?

Ah, devil ether. It makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor function. Blurred vision, no balance, numb tongue. The mind recoils in horror, unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interesting because you can actually watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it.
-
No, that is not what I meant.
But what I said I realized pertained to how old I was and I never should have said it, so pretend it never happened.

Do they even attack you? Then never did to me.
Anyway, I would say Djinn Bottles, but they aren't here (poor things, all of the ones at Heckran's cave never reappear, although the Jackpots at the Lost Sanctum do). But since they're, I'll go for the Ions.

While I love Nu and the save points, I'm not a big fan of them as enemies, so I have to go with the scouts. Simple, effective design tells you everything you need to know: they're eyeballs with bat wings, so you know they're not good and they're color coded with their own weakness, forcing you to keep a varied team when you face them. They're not the strongest, or the coolest, or the most memorable, but they're extremely well thought out and, in my opinion, a perfect example of a Chrono Trigger monster.
-
While I like the nu's as enemies because of the challenge and fun of fighting them; especially in Gaspars secret chamber; I had to pick the wall panels in the Dark Omen. Gotta love those free speed tabs.
-
Well I always think a Kilwala is cute in some way.
Though they don't talk like Nu, except the piano one.
