Well according to Chrono Cross she was killed by Lynx (in one of the dimensions - I don't remember which one).
Most likely she ended up like Terra Bradford from Final Fantasy VI, starting up an orphanage.
Wait a tic. I just thought of something. Perhaps an orphanage was erected because of the Porre-Guardia war (circa 1005 AD). The war left many orphans, thus the need for an orphanage...
Bah! Ah well! It's all banter anyway...

The orphanage idea makes perfect sense; that's always what I thought as well.
She died in Another World, I think; her fate in Home World was left unclear, if I'm not mistaken.

Well, since the split (the creation of Serge's Home World) happened afterward, she's still dead in Home World...and anyways, after CC the two merge...
Lucca's dead. I don't think we can completely write her off from all possible continuity though...Heck, she's even in Xenogears, HA!
She isn't mentioned in RD, btw, MagilsugaM...

My question is met with nothing but a cold gaze from Kid.

vowed to get my revenge, and honor what she wanted."
I stay silent, not knowing what kind of reply to offer.
"I shoulda talked more about it before, before I got you involved in
everything, I guess," she says after a while.
"It's bad, Serge..."

With nothing but the sound of our footsteps echoing around us, we continue on,
deeper and deeper into the passageway.
Come to think of it, does RD explain why Lynx attacked the orphanage, or wherever Kid and Lucca were living, in that dimension? I don't think releasing the Prometheus Circuit was a factor since Chronopolis and all that jazz weren't in RD...
Fascinating that Crono's death is made explicit in RD as well.

This is a little off topic, but someone with a better understanding of the RD plot could help me out...
In the RD reality, what is the role of the Frozen Flame?
This is random banter on my end, but if the Frozen Flame's role in RD is the same as it is in CC (certain magical/energetic properties that seem to "grant wishes", to a degree), then perhaps RD takes place in a universe in which the Chrono Trigger either doesn't exist, doesn't work, or was never given to Crono and company.
My logic in this assessment is that Lucca wants the Frozen Flame to put on a friend's grave. The only friend we know of, and if I understand correctly, RD points towards this deceased character being Crono. Knowing that Crono was killed in Lavos, and seeing that we have no other instances of Crono dying, it just seems logical to me that Crono was never actually revived. Thus, perhaps, Lucca's goal was to obtain the Frozen Flame and potentially revive Crono?
Just a random thought. I'm sure this connection has been made by others - it's nothing monumental.

Lucca had to have been abducted in Another (as Kid remembers this and Kid is from Another World). Then we have the Ghosts in Home World that state that they no longer exist in that timeline. She is probably dead in both worlds, then.
However, while the game very strongly implies that Lucca's dead, this isn't a definite. Kid clearly thinks she is dead, and Lynx plays on that belief, but no where in the script is this made explicite. The designers may have been trying to leave themselves some wiggle-room if they decided to bring her back in Chrono Break.
And, of course, Kid does have access to a Time Egg. She might be able to use that to save Lucca, even if Lucca did die.
This is a little off topic, but someone with a better understanding of the RD plot could help me out...
In the RD reality, what is the role of the Frozen Flame?
If I recall correctly, combining the Time Egg with the Frozen Flame was supposed to grant a person control over time itself (sounds like the Counter-Time Experiment to me). Kid also wanted to use the flame to honor Lucca's dead friend. I think it was also rumored that it could grant eternal life.

Really? I mean, there's no evidence to support that she IS a lesbian, but then again, there's no evidence to support that she ISN'T a lesbian. I sort of always paired her with Glenn (human form, no doubt) in my head. Seeing as how she was sort of "yucked" out by him as Frog (she clearly didn't care much for amphibious frogs), it seemed ironic that as a human she would find him a total stud.
But alas - I also thought that their love could never be. Lucca would be too worried about disrupting the space-time continuum and choose to never be with him. Instead she would channel her passion for children, and thus start an orphanage for the parentless children of what had, at one point, been the world super power that is Guardia Kingdom.

Uh, tushantin... Lucca was killed by Lynx. :/ That's one of the Vital story elements of Chrono Cross.

But that was merely a theory, since she was kidnapped and didn't come back. There was no body to witness her death except for Lynx. I know it's safe to assume she was killed by him. ;3 Buuuuut, can't fans have their own fantasies for fiction? XD

Yeah, I think Lucca's death was intentionally ambiguous. That way they could come back to some of the familiar characters if they so chose (in another Chrono sequel).

Marle dies of STDs.
Crono can't cope and goes to some distant land and becomes a hermit.
Crono's Mom needs someone to fill the void Crono did, so she adopts a Lavoid that was under the Epoch, named Lavender.
Lavender gets angry at Robo and "kills" it.
Lucca becomes manicly depressed, does drugs and spends the rest of her life in rehab, where she meets a girl named Amy who she madly falls in love with.
So, yeah, she's a lesbian because Marle died.

There's an upcoming PSP prequel called "Fritzis Core", starring well-loved but undeveloped NPC Fritz. This RPG gives insight into his backstory and the heroic events he was involved in that led to his ultimate demise (well, almost) in Chrono Trigger.
Characters who appear alongside him include:
Pierre, Fritz's calm and collected mentor whose secret dream is become a lawyer.
Norstein Bekkler, the crazed narcissist anti-hero with a tragic downfall that some fans may come to refer to as "Rayman syndrome".
Lucca, the inventor girl who creates Fritz's weapons. Also a lesbian.
Spekkio, the awesome sidekick who teaches Fritz to fling meteors.
So yeah, Lucca was involved in all that shit before CT. After? She started adopting kids and turning them into Gatos. Which lays out the plot for Dirge of Magus.

But...Toma's resident to 600 AD. And Cyrus is dead! I think she loves machines so much, she pulls a "Plankton" and creates a computer spouse. Then the computer spouse goes HAL on her and destroys her home, re-cripples Lara, and eats babies.

I just decided to return since i saw a new post and, wow. Maybe Lucca really did become a lesbian. A lot of people think so.

Yeah, but it has more of a chance of existing, because although it probably has a 1/100 chance of happening, a creator might happen to come across this and then it be shown in a future Chrono game a picture of Lucca with somebody and the close eye can see wedding rings upon their fingers, the SAME ones. Like i already said, slim chance, but the difference between our two things is that since we don't have any virgin births on hand, nothing can truly affect that scenario while as the Chrono creators are alive and well and so a slim chance of that exists. Of course I state for a third time, that is extremely slim.

She might have died, but we don't know for sure. Chrono Cross is sort of like the end of X-Men 3; a lot of people "died" but every one of them can come back.

And now that you mention that, I have to wonder if Lynx truly did take out Crono. I brought it up on a fan group and there is a heated debate about it most points saying because Crono is older, he isn't as good. But you do bring up a good point that to me makes more sense. If Crono could kill the apocalypse itself(and all by himself) then why shouldn't he be able to wipe the floor with Lynx?
Either that or Lucca was a lesbian, Lynx was an anti-gay protestor and so he was one of those extremists that decided to kill her. About a week later he learned of Chrono Trigger's events.

Well, it is simply assumed that Crono died and based on the plain assumption that Lucca was killed by Lynx, I've also heard Crono and Marle were too.

Crono & Marle are assumed dead from the Fall of Guardia (it's not a theory I hold to myself though).

I still doubt they died from that either. My same reasoning being applied to this, if Crono had the power to stop Lavos, then how is it that whatever defeated Guardia could defeat him and so he could have possibly been around when Lynx attacked the orphanage. Plus Lucca also has that kind of strength at her disposal, not to mention it is only seen that Lynx and Harle burn the orphanage, if they had truly killed Lucca you would've seen her somewhere when you traveled into Kid's mind thu entering the past with the help of the Chrono Cross. So perhaps none of them even died, Kid just wasn't with anyone and escaped the fire, and watched it burn. Perhaps Lucca did get away, along with the other two. It is possible since Magus is perhaps there as they read the letter from Lucca(his shadow).

It's all still up for date, but seeing as how all those events were "retconned" with the creation of the Ideal Timeline, there's no telling. By the time the next Chrono game comes out it will most likely occur within the confines of the Ideal Timeline, so there's no telling!

Exactly the point I'm making, their is no definite. Unless of course a character decides to just pop up from a random shadow and reveal a bunch of plot. Like Belthasar did in CC toward the end of it. :P

Yeah it would, but remember, it showed Gato completely mutilated by Lynx at the entrance to the orphanage. That sucked. Why couldn't Gato just sucker punch Lynx right in the face? Of course, Harle was also there. Toss a disc thing from a distance and Gato wouldn't stand a chance. Poor giant singing robot with a punching bag stomach.
