Sanity!? Sorry, but I don't remember having such a useless thing in the first place.

I freakin' love Kenpachi! And Ikkaku, too. His fearless personality is inspiring, especially if you've seen his backstory in the Arrancar arc.

Are all these pics from Bleach?

I'm just curious, because they look like Death Gods to me, but I don't know for sure.
I'm only on Episode 11.

Yup, they're all Shinigami/Death Gods. You'll see them in the second arc (which, in my opinion, really made Bleach seem amazing with a wave of well-developed characters).

Yeah, we won't spoil anything for you. But wow, I'm surprised I turned out to really like Kenpachi. He sort of redeemed himself with that "lopsided" fight there (I'm in the mid 50s). Lopsided for his opposition, heh!

I love having villains come back to be good guys, though. I'm wondering if the current crop of characters I hate are going to be redeemed.

Most of the characters get their moments - usually an episode revolving around their backstory and how they came to meet another character, etc. Most of Kenpachi's team shares the same personality as him, more or less. My favourite character so far (other than Ikkaku) would probably be either Hitsugaya or Chad. Hitsugaya is just 'professional' in how he acts and battles, and Chad has a well-developed story (namely his pact with Ichigo). Bleach really surprised me with the amount of characters, but they aren't disappointing at all: everyone gets their reason and motive for who they are and what they represent.

I'm wondering if the current crop of characters I hate are going to be redeemed.

What characters do you hate, ZeaLitY? I won't give away anything about them, of course.

Fucking anime fillers.

BTW, the coolest Bleach character is Urahara, hands down. Benihime has to be the coolest Zanpakutou too, together with Rukia's Sode no Shirayuki. I hope Urahara goes bankai in the war to come. Oh, and Ulquiorra is awesome too. I wonder if his release will manage to be cooler than Grimmjaw's Pantera.

BLEACH SpOILeRs LOL OK I WARNED YOU LISTEN YOU PIECE OF

Well, I used to hate Byakuya (man, his upbringing lives him painfully formal). I guess I hate Gin more now and really hate Aizen. Yoruichi should have just cut the damn guy.

But I'm really loving a hell of a lot of characters now. Squad 11 just plain rules. Zaraki Kenpachi's fought with Tousen and Komamura or whatever during the end of that arc was like a bonus round of sex. I'm totally behind that guy now, along with the 3rd and 5th officers (even Mr. Beautiful, heh).

That said, the 8th Squad captain is pretty awesome too. Nanao~chan! Seeming him get serious with Yukitake and the old dude was pretty awesome. If any character lost respect by now, it'd sort of be Ichigo for not making Rukia go back with him. It would have been ridiculously easy to capitalize on a romantic link, but what the hell, Ichigo saves her and goes right back to his life? B-S. There was something there, but I guess it caved in to set up the filler arc.

Argh, too many names to remember.

LmAo MOAR SPOILERZ

Yeah, Squad 11 is awesome, and they just continue to get cooler after the fillers (I skipped all of the Bount filler arc after seeing how many episodes it consisted of).

...Fuck. I've forgotten 8th Squad Captain's name too. Damn, he quickly became a favourite of mine. He seems laid-back and comical, but beneath that lies a honorable and friendly guy. AH! Shishou, that's his name. Ha. Anyway... I love how Bleach can throw in a humourous scene, then switch back to its serious nature in an instant (e.g. Ichigo complaining about Rukia's drawings).

I kinda like Gin. Too bad he's a sadist bastard, but he looks so cool. But yeah, I agree on the hating Aizen thing. He's way too "LOL I DON'T KNOW YOU, BUT I CAN KILL YOU BECAUSE I'M THE LATEST BADASS", plus he really pissed me off when he injured Hinamori and Hitsugaya.

Oh, and I'll always hate Byakuya, for being the generic bitch that he is.

Yeah, I thought Yukitake would be your stereotypical silver-haired stock Japanese badass, but Byakuya sort of filled that role. Yukitake would be pretty cool to hang out with.

I haven't seen but two episodes of the dub, so how do they do Gin's laid back speech in English?

You guys have any sites that you would recommend to download and watch old Bleach episodes?

I'm kind of getting sick of Youtube already, and I'm only on Episode 16.

Nevermind this post. Found a great site for high quality episodes.

I'd assume most people would just look on the big, generic torrent sites. Bleach is fairly popular, so there's bound to be big episode collections (i.e. 1-25, 1-120, etc.). Of course, it's easy to end up with something weird, like Bleach with Polish subtitles, because there's so much on those sites.

Yea.
Zeality already sent me a torrent with 1-127. But I didn't have 22GB of free space on my computer, so I just joined a Bleach site, and started downloading them from there.
They are pretty awesome quality actually, but it takes a little bit to get them. Like 30 seconds waiting time per download. So not that bad really.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, and the PMs too. I'll edit that post so I don't get even more PMs about it.

Shunsui Kyouraku is the captain of the 8th division. He's a pretty cool character, indeed, I find it to be a shame that so little of his duo fight with Ukitake against Genryuusai was shown...

Also, IMO, Nanao is one of the coolest female characters in Bleach, together with Rukia and Yoruichi, even thogh so little of her has appeared. She and Shunsui complete each other as captain and sub-captain incredibly well.

It's only a matter of time until they get their own episode/s. Till then, we wait!

I watched another few episodes lately, but nothing huge has happened, really. Besides, anything I say about them will be a spoiler, so meh.

LE SOUL SOCIETY ARC SPOILER

Mate Faffy McCoy, have you heard his theme song, Superpredators by Massive Attack? Usually I don't agree with Tite Kubo's modern songs, but aside from that awful klaxon (gets sort of annoying after multiple listens), it's like the perfect Kenpachi song. The part starting after 1:50 is probably the coolest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk3UTl9GgBQ

God, there is something to Kenpachi's style. The way he completely, selfishly, freely engages in whatever he desires without a second thought...and that perfect attitude, staying cool even under Tousen's bankai. That quote beforehand was perfect:

Quote
Come on, at least give me a bankai.

If Kenpachi ever masters his soul slayer, call it a night.

MORE SPOILERS, NATURALLY

Jesus, that song is perfect. It really expresses Kenpachi as the giant death machine that he is. Bit annoying how it loops, though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rJKSRrNnhQ

Ichigo's theme song comes from the group 'Bad Religion'. I like their music, and the song fits well enough, I guess. Anyway, the video is awesome and doesn't spoil anything; it's comprised of clips only from the first 3 episodes.

That quote beforehand was perfect:

Quote
Come on, at least give me a bankai.

If Kenpachi ever masters his soul slayer, call it a night.

Damn right. If he ever masters his soul slayer, he'll be invincible. Hell, he's pretty much invincible anyway. He's incredible, and no character can rival such an attitude. Completely carefree and not giving a damn about the Shinigami rules; he's basically a captain for the fun of it. Very cool.

That video was a fountain of screenshot possibilities.

I just done done with that fight scene, and man was I impressed.

It was a battle of pure strength, and both of you are right. If he ever would find out his Soul Slayer's name, he'd be unstoppable. I thought it was freaking awesome that he wore an eye patch, that sucked away spirit force, and bells that made noise, so it would give his opponents an advantage during the fight. He even let Ichigo try to cut him.

What a cocky bastard who loves nothing else but fighting eh?

I also loved the part when he he is finally getting cut and it going crazy with ecstasy. That part, to me, truly defined his character.

I hope the next 10 episodes are just as great as the last 40 I've watched. Episode 41 here I come!

Hah, yeah, he really lit up happily when Ichigo started slicing him. Just wait for the Byakuya fight. You'll like Ichigo...

It's all in that same sort of craziness vein. I suppose one can admire Zaraki and Ichigo for that complete solidity of will. It allows them to rise to captaincy rank or above, whereas the other captains sort of sit at their limits.

I wonder how would a Captain's reiatsu potency compare to a Vizard's or one of the stronger Espada's. I guess that if Kenpachi were to learn to communicate with his Zanpakutou he would probably be Yamamoto-Genryuusai's level in terms of sheer reiatsu, but still I guess none of them are (or have the potential to be) as powerful as the Vizards... I mean, even in Ichigo's first manifestations of his Hollow powers, he had mostly mostly shown superior powers in comparsion to a high level captain such as Byakuya. And considering that Ichigo's Vizard form and Grimmjow's Pantera are seemingly on equal grounds, it would appear that there is quite a gap between the powers of the Vizards/stronger Espada (by stronger Espada I mean from Grimmjow upwards) and the Shinigami captains. Still, I guess that's not really how things are, there must be a lot to the captains' strength that hasn't yet been shown, and also they must have been sharpening their skills like crazy since Aizen's treason.

Also, I'm very curious to see if Aizen, Tousen and Gin have become Vizards (I wonder if the hougyoku can't unlock Hollow powers as well as Shinigami). A Vizard Aizen would be seriously fucked up. Seriously.

Also, I wonder if Isshin (and perhaps Urahara and Yoruichi also?! I mean, it's not hard at all to imagine all these renegade shinigami wearing a hollow mask, if you think about it...) isn't a Vizard too. That would make the most sense, considering Ichigo's inherent reiatsu.

You didn't watch the filler, right? I'm a little over halfway through, and it looks like Ken's going to get a serious battle soon. But this line is just too great. It's not a spoiler, really, since the invader is invisible. He sort of hit Ikkaku once and fled, and Ikkaku was telling Ken about it. Then Ken rails the guy for hiding.

Of course, after that pic below, Ken complains about it being boring lately and looks forward to the fight.

Jeez, he rules.

When does this Bount, or Bounto, or Bountou (Yes I have seen it translated 3 ways) end?

I'm kind of sick of it already, and it seems like it is raring up to go like 10-15 more episodes past 74.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: ZeaLitY on August 06, 2007, 10:35:25 pm
Yeah, the 70s are the worst. 80s get a little better. It's only in the 90s that Soul Society gets invaded and you see some awesome stuff.

I found myself fast-forwarding through the 70s and 80s (easy with fansubs since you can still read). It's worth picking it up in the 90s; I'm in 103 and it should end in a few more episodes.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread

I skipped all of the Bount arc after watching the first episode of it, which bored me. Yeah, hasty to judge, but... I just like to stick to the original plot. The arc after Bount is excellent so far, but fillers started again and I'm nearing the end of available episodes. THE HORROR!

Episode 113 and back spoilers

Ugh, not looking forward to that, then. Rangiku is hot and Toshiro is cool and all, but they're not really struggling like the other characters. Toshiro's like one of those people who have sacrificed growth to achieve perfection. Theres' no evidence of him enduring some huge struggle yet or having other remotely human traits, whereas with Byakuya, at least you can ascribe his completely morose demeanor to the loss of his wife. I wish they'd hurry up and give him some backstory. His attitude with Ichigo "THATS CAPTAIN HITSUGAYA TO YOU) was crappy.

That said, I'm coming up on Ikkaku; I can't wait. Looking back, one of the greatest moments in the Bount filler (besides the Kenpachi fight) was the convenience store scenario with Hanataro and Ganju. It was beautiflu when Ganju had enough of that Ganguro telling him what to do and Stone Waved the entire store.

Hitsugaya doesn't have much of a background yet... From what I've read, he's apparently considered a prodigy, which limits his uniqueness, in my opinion (e.g. I'd rather see some better reason as to why he became a Shinigami). I'm looking forward to seeing Grimmjow's released state...

How far into Bleach are you now, ZeaLitY?
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread

Ep 127. By the end of today, I'll be up to 133. Then I'll start watching it like I do Naruto. I wait two weeks and watch an hour at a time on Fridays, but I also keep two episodes ahead of me in case there's ever a special occasion and I want to watch two hours worth. If a new Bleach debuts next week, I'll be able to watch 134 and 135.

Jeez, I wish Grimmjow weren't an evil villain...because damn, he has style! I hope the story at least gives a hint on the Hollows' past lives, since Hollows are originally humans. Anyway, Ikkaku's stay at Keigo's house is hilarious. I love how he said "Zaraki Squad" instead of "Squad 11", and how he refused to do anything in Soul Society other than serve Ken. Speaking of which, this morning was the second in which I dreamt of Bleach stuff. I forgot what it was about, but Kenpachi was there.

I have to say it is the coolest one, until now. Pretty different from what I imagined, also.

I hope the story at least gives a hint on the Hollows' past lives, since Hollows are originally humans.

There actually is a flashback of GrimmJaw's past, not as a human, but as a lesser hollow -- when he was still an Adjucha. Shawlong also appears in that flashback, as well as some other future arrancar.

Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread

It's from the filler showdown between Ken and Maki Ichinose, a shinigami who allied with the Bounts after leaving Soul Society. He looked up to the former 11th squad captain, and when Ken murdered the dood for captainship he quit altogether. He tracked down Kenpachi in the Bount invasion and pulled out all the stops, including this amazing rainbow technique with no chance of escape.

But we all know what happened next, don't we?

For openings, I like Ichirin no Hana and Rolling Star. Ichirin no Hara in particular races at breakneck speed; it was perfect for wrapping up the Soul Society arc. It was AWESOME how the end of the introduction was made to sync with the image of Ichigo's face being replaced with his Hollow form.

For endings, Houki Boshi (played during the credits which showed captain / lieutenants). I'd be happy if "happypeople" disappeared from the face of the earth.

The coolest opening - and the one that most translates "Bleachness" (Oo) into music, if I might add -- has to be Asterisk. I also like YUE's 'Rolling Star' a lot.

The best endings are Houki Boshi and 'Life', by YUE, also.

HyperiaOmega

Grimmjow is the manliest Arrancar to ever come into existence.

His only purpose in life is to kick the ass of anyone he feels like, at any time. This one time, he kicked Ichigo's ass. Why? Because he thought Ulquiorra was too much of an emo to do it. So he did it himself. Awesome.

Grimmjow also has the most badass name ever. Just say it: Grimmjow Jaggerjack. Grimmjow Jaggerjack. He sounds like a shark that rapes your liver diagonally. With his Jaggerjack jaw. Hardcore.

He can beat the Protagonist, and everybody knows the Protagonist has Deus Ex Machina. And how does he beat him? He punches Ichigo in the face like ten million times. And he does it nonchalantly too. He just has this smile while he pounds Ichigo into oblivion, and Ichigo takes it like a little *****.

And then when he's finished, he uppercuts Ichigo in the face with his foot, and then dropkicks him back down to the ground in midair. I'm not sure what just happened, but I think my face exploded from the awesome. Seriously. He kicks Ichigo's ass without Shikai or Bankai or anything. That's just how badass Grimmjow is - he can kill a Deus Ex Protagonist who's in Bankai while Grimmjow just uses his fists.

And then Tousen appears out of nowhere and slices Grimmjow's arm off. He slices Grimmjow's arm off. And do you know what Grimmjow does? He just stands there with a face that says "lol wut?" He doesn't even care that his arm got sliced off, he's puzzled why Tousen came out of nowhere to piss him off while he's kicking Ichigo's ass.

Man, Grimmjow RULES. The only person that can match Grimmjow's sheer and pure manliness is Zaraki Kenpachi. And Kenpachi destroyed Tousen, who cut Grimmjow's arm off. And Kenpachi did it without eyesight or hearing or smell.

Man, if Grimmjow ever released his Zanpakuto, the world would explode. That's probably the initial effect, the world explodes. The secondary effect is making the universe explode.

Holy **** Grimmjow is awesome.

Every move he takes, he's so manly, he makes other worlds explode. If you were within 300 miles of his presence, your face would burn off due to the badassery friction within the surrounding radius. I need to make a Random Grimmjow Fact Generator.

Plus, Grimmjow is the sexiest thing in Bleach. He's like a fusion between Renji and Hitsugaya, with an awesome voice to match. That makes him absolutely manly. Why do you think there's only like, 5 girl Arrancar? The rest are busy having sex with Grimmjow in their freetime, whenever Grimmjow is not pulverizing Ichigo in the face.

In fact Grimmjow's release is nothing special. It's like a cool looking outfit with effects similar to the Tensa Zangetsu (increased speed, power, nothing too special).

And well, hate to spoil, but he ends up getting his ass handed to him by Vizard Ichigo. As would obviously happen sooner or later.

Don't get me wrong, Grimmjaw is one of my favourite Bleach characters. It's just that the way Mr. Kubo suddenly made him into a 'piece o' crap' character by getting Noitora treat him like garbage (he makes a freaking "surprise!!" look on his face, dammit! Ichigo makes "surprise!!" faces, not Grimmjow!) really sucks. It's awful when a really cool character is treated as a defenseless, disposable plot device.

Ahh, you spoiled it! I haven't got that far in the manga yet!

That is disappointing, considering he is one of the few arrancar that actually have a personality, as far as I can see. Most of them are just kind of there. Except for maybe Yami and Ulqourira(I dunno how to spell it.) But they remind me of Vegeta and Nappa way too much. Nappa(Yami) does all the fighting, is a big mouth, and Vegeta(Ulqourria) stands in the back trying to look cool. You already know Ulqourria is stronger, just how you knew Vegeta was stronger too.

Too bad for Grimmjow, maybe in the anime they may tweak what happens to him a bit.

Well, perhaps a good spoiler that doesn't really spoil anything such as the fact that Grimmjow is the only arrancar to have a bit of background story shown, canonically, will atone for my previous evil spoilar.

Anyone else thinking of getting the Wii Bleach game? It looks pretty fun, and it finally got a European release date (well, Q1 2008), much to my surprise. Seeing as Bleach isn't even past episode 3 here yet, I wonder if they'll edit it to avoid spoilers... I recall some Naruto game doing such a thing, removing Itachi. Anyway, seeing as the game's plot is about an Arrancar (one exclusive to the game, I might add), it's unlikely that they'd leave out Grimmjow and Ulquiorra.

I just hope it's a good game worth getting. I love Bleach, but if the game sucks I won't even be interested.
Comes out Oct 9th in the states.

Anyone got some links to game play demos, or anything like that.

No playable demos. At least you can watch gameplay videos; YouTube has plenty.

Ulquiorra VS Grimmjow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fdNIv-scIs

Note: Contains no spoilers. Grimmjow's release isn't even in the game (well, considering the anime hasn't reached that point, it's no surprise).

There are only three playable Arrancar (as far as I know): Ulquiorra, Grimmjow, and the game-exclusive Arturo Plateado.

After seeing that fight I'm not interested in buying this game. Maybe renting it, and then if I like it I'll buy it.

Reminds me of the old Dragonball GT game for the PS1, which was alright for 1990 or whenever it was around, but doesn't fly for today's gaming standards.

EDIT: OK, well I watched some more fights, and it looks a little better than I thought. But I just realized they will probably use American Voice actors for the US release, so it will totally ruin the game for me. Oh well. Maybe it will be so good I can ignore the horrible voices.

It is possible they'll throw in an option to switch to the original Japanese voices, though.

Episode 143 aired today. I watched it in raw format since the subbed version hasn't been released yet. Grimmjow is incredible (nothing new, though, eh?) in this one.

Also, apparently the 7th opening, After Dark (by Asian Kung-fu Generation), begins with this episode, along with a new ending. However, whoever uploaded the episode stupidly cut both the opening and ending. So we'll have to wait for some new uploads.

And Bleach Wii: Shattered Blade is, according to Wikipedia, getting a UK release. No characters are cut from the English versions of the game, despite being ahead of current dub episodes.

Since the beginning of this semester, I've sort of doodled on a desk I sit in for two classes. I've done it mainly because the day I sat in it, I noticed it was cover in random drawings (nothing identifiable). It's like a big communal easel. So for the past several weeks, I've been honing Grimmjow's jaw on that thing, usually erasing (yes, it's a small, boring class) all but one. I've only been drawing his jaw piece.

Well, earlier this week, I come in and notice this drawn at the top:

Captioned with "Ulquiorra Schiffer".

I was like, hell yes! Really brightened my day. So I went ahead and tried drawing a complete Grimmjow face, but I haven't had a 'response' yet.

Heheh, awesome.

The 7th opening and 13th ending have been delayed until episode 144, which in turn is delayed until October 17th (which is why there was no new Bleach episode this week).

On the bright side, Bleach: The Blade of Fate for the DS got positive reception at IGN: http://uk.ds.ign.com/articles/825/825802p1.html
I might import it (since a UK release is either unlikely or will take forever). The game covers up to the end of the Soul Society arc, I think, so no Arrancar.

Bleach 144 was great. Not too much filler material, thankfully (but the traps scene was pretty funny, anyway).

Oh, and it brings us the fantastic new opening, After Dark, by Asian Kung-fu Generation. Personally, I love this opening, and can't get the song out of my head. The video is pretty cool, too, especially how the Espada and Aizen are portrayed in black and white. I was surprised that it didn't include Ichigo and Grimmjow fighting, though.

The new ending, Tane wo maku hibi (Day seeds are scattered), is pretty good, though Houki Hoshi still sits at the top, if you ask me.

Anyway... Is it just me or is the anime beginning to lose its 'oomph' with the fight scenes? I just felt the Iceringer/Demōra battle was lacking in comparison with the manga...

Anyone played The Blade of Fate yet?

Probably because the animators have already heard the news...

I don't read the manga of course, but I did catch a news release that starting with episode...147 I think, a new filler arc begins.

Honestly, instead of trying to cop some new drama out of Hueco Mundo, they might as well show Zaraki Kenpachi cutting things for a few episodes. Or like, fake fights.

Or, they could have Tite Kubo himself write a 'Kenpachi Gaiden' (like the Kakashi arc made for the Naruto manga) to cover for filler time. He did say, after all, that he would like to go into Kenpachi's background more.

And yeah, episode 147, "Forest of Menos! The Search for the Missing Rukia" is no doubt the beginning of filler. There was nothing like that in the manga.

I gotta say, thank god for the new OP. The last one was freaking awful, depressive, and whiny. I wish I could somehow erase "ore ta awai tsubasa" from my brain forever. It started with that awful lyric, and then it showed Ichigo sitting against a wall like he'd just lost the fight.

Oh well; that's over.

Yea the filler has definitely started.

I don't think Rukia or Renji are even in the manga for this arc. If my memory serves me right, but I could definitely be wrong on that. IF they do come in, it's probably much later.

One of you guys are sure to know that answer lol. Here's to hoping the filler is decent at least.

Grimmjow appears on the cover of one of the manga volumes. His tagline is awesome:

Quote
"Doesn't matter who it is
I'll fucking crush anybody"

Just watched 147. Wow, this filler episode wasn't actually too bad, but the introduction of another filler Shinigami better have a good story behind it...

Rukia makes the most dumbass line in the show yet:

Quote
"Where did all these Hollow come from?!"

She says this in Hueco Mundo.

Update:

Episode 148 was decent, especially for a filler. I felt Ashido's background story was actually pretty sad and not just some lackluster crap like the kind we saw in the 'Shouta' filler arc. Anyway, the episode finished on a cliffhanger, and to be honest, I can't see this filler arc lasting very long.

Chapter 304 was released this week, and it's a Hitsugaya special, finally giving us some background information on him. It shows how he met Matsumoto, why he became a Shinigami, and the dreams in which he heard Hyonimaru calling out to him.

In other words, Kenpachi is putting kendo training into practice (hence using both hands).

It was funny how he exclaimed he found annoying when Yamamoto had made him practice it. It's the kind of calm training without wild action that Kenpachi wouldn't be able to stand.

I adore Kenpachi simply because he just uses his strength, purely and nothing else. He has no special transformation to fall back on (of course I'm not counting the eye-patch), and it's just awesome that he wins every battle through slashing wildly and passionately. Very cool.

Some Heat the Soul 5 gameplay footage revealed. The following video is 15 seconds showing Ichigo and his hollow inner self performing a tag attack, and I swear it's the most epic thing I've ever seen:

Yea I like Kenpachi for those reasons too, and that he is a total lunatic when it comes to fighting. How he loves a great challenge, and kicks a kick of finally feeling pain or fighting someone who is worthy.

I just said that because they have hinted at unlocking his Zanpaktou when Ichigo fought him for the first time. Well not hinting at him doing it, but hinting at the fact that his sword is crying out and Kenpachi can't hear it. It would be cool, if for once, he did hear it and began owning even more with it unlocked. But I guess that'd take away form his charcter, so they won't do it, but I'd think it'd be cool.

Damn, that was unquestionably badass. He walks in, reverses a cero, and then steps on the other one's head, but only after scaring her with BOO! Grimmjow is electric.

Chapter 313 is out!

Kenpachi quotes:

"Man, what a rush! It's been real... Nnoitra."

"Grab your damn sword... Grab the girl... and haul ass... Your shift is over... Let us handle the overtime..."

"Besides, I ain't gonna let you hog any more battles... you greedy prick..."

HOLY FUCK at the plot twist.

Looks like we're into a new story arc next. Hueco Mundo arc, OVER.

I don't know how they are going to put filler into the anime in order to keep it from catching up with the manga.

What scenes could you possibly add between the Hueco Mundo arc, and the new arc that is just starting?

Sad to hear fillers are starting soon, because the battles that have been going on in the mangas lately have been epic to say the least. But I guess we'll just have to wait a little bit to see Kenpachi kick the shit out Nnoitra.

Craaaaaaaap!

Maybe the anime's going fast because they think they can really finish it just in the nick of time.

The site I download the anime and read the manga online from. It's a pretty credible source, and seems to have correct information a vats majority of the time.

I'm not saying everything they say is a definite fact, but they haven't steered my wrong so far.

Maybe it could be a bunch of fantasy filler, like Grimmjow versus Kenpachi. Then Hollow Ichigo versus Aizen. Then Isshin versus Stark. Then Grimmjow versus Hollow Ichigo.

Hell yes. Too bad it'll never happen. A bunch of fake fights would explode the ratings into astronomical numbers. I would take a sabbatical from life the day of each new release. Oh, and tag battles, of course: Kenpachi and Grimmjow versus Aizen and Gin / or maybe just HOLLOW ICHIGO. BECAUSE IT'S NOT A PARTY WITHOUT HOLLOW ICHIGO

(http://chronofan.com/Zeality/1157811484_wall 4.JPG)

But, even if they did that idea, the fantasy battles would probably be between Karin and Lilin & Don Kanonji and Kon.

Ah, Hollow Ichigo is popping up in my mind now, so I've got a new sig. Probably not as good as the Grimmjow sig...

Let's see, why is Hollow Ichigo awesome? Let's count the ways.

1. He's always been ready to fight with impunity, having to save Ichigo from certain death on his mission in Soul Society more than once.
2. He created the black Getsuga Tenshou.
3. He's a raging psychopath who'd feel right at home begging to fight Grimmjow or Kenpachi every single day of his life.
4. He's virtually an arrancar Hollow; he's presented that way. You KNOW he's be like 5th Espada right now, if not even higher once Ichigo beats the blood out of Ulquiorra (I can't wait).
5. He's always there, and promised to explode back onto the throne of Ichigo's life if he should even doubt himself for one second.
6. His Hollow Ichigo mask is awesome. It's not a freaky animal-type, but like some enhanced, horrific human monster.
7. He swings Zangetsu around in circles, which is pretty cool.
8. Like #3, he is always insanely tickled to death and happy. He lives for everything he can get moves from one thing to the next like naked will; like, as he said, meat, bones, thoughts all ground down to the most lethal, slim blade ever.
9. Like Kenpachi, he doesn't have a name. He doesn't even care about a name.
10. His voice rules.

~

Anyone else find the line "WHAT NOW,  YOU FRIGGIN' PSYCHO PATH!?" from Ichigo hilarious in 313? It's almost a term of endearment for Kenpachi that way.

Grimmjow and Ulquiorra's English dub voices are in here. Unfortunately, it doesn't include Grimmjow's "Espada Numero Sexta" introduction line.

God, 162 is such a hard episode to watch. It was so badass to see Ichigo emerge with the Hollow mask to Ulquiorra's short glance of horror. They even use the original OST 1 music, especially "Nothing Can Be Explained" when Ichigo is dying on the floor with a hole in his chest.

It's moments like those that make the characterization of Ichigo so solid. He demonstrates such courage in the face of fear and weakness that it's...it's inspiring. Think of the hardest thing in your life, then think of Ichigo and listen to 14 Destiny Awaits on the OST. The power is yours.

BREAK
I have no interest in crybabies like you
See if you can even scratch me once with your nails
Then for the first time I'll kill and walk on
I kill bastards like you

You want to know what my name is?
Pray that you never hear it again
The next time you hear it will be your last

Anytime. Break, and everyone.
Anywhere. Break, and everyone.
Disappear. Break everything.
Anytime. Break, and everyone.
Anywhere. Break, and everyone.
Disappear. Break everything.

There's no meaning to my birth
Try wasting your free time fishing for even one reason
Bashing everyone is the only one
Just bashing bastards like you

You want to tie me up?
Don't ever think that again
Those times when I can move freely are everything to me

Anytime. Broken, everyone.
Anywhere. Broken, everyone.
Disappear. Broken, everything.
Anytime. Broken everyone.
Anywhere. Broken everyone.
Disappear. Broken everything.

You want to know my name?

SIX FEELINGS

We who are born to destroy
Don't need a reason to destroy
Much less a reason for why we were born to destroy
I don't care that I don't know

If you need an explanation ask the distant past
If you think to persuade me you should do it more quickly
After all both are meaningless. They're unnecessary to me

The feeling of burning anger guides my actions
My power is concentrated in the enjoyment in my heart
The world is taught what killing intent is by me
That is how I live
If you understood that, go somewhere else

We who are born to destroy
I have absolutely no need to be dependent
Much less there being good reason for us to co-exist (?)
Nor do I have any interest in it (?)

If feelings are necessary then six are enough
If you continue to agree, by all means hurt me at your leisure
After all both are meaningless. They have nothing to do with me

The feeling of embracing my interests goes through my actions
My power is concentrated in the will going through my heart
The world is taught the feeling of being seized by vindictiveness by me (?)
That's how I live. You understood, right?
Go away by yourself

If feelings are necessary six are enough
If you continue to agree, by all means hurt me at your leisure
After all both are meaningless. They're not something I know.

The feeling of burning anger guides my actions
My power is concentrated in the enjoyment in my heart
The world is taught what killing intent is by me
The feeling of embracing my interests goes through my actions
My power is concentrated in the will going through my heart
The world is taught the feeling of being seized by vindictiveness by me (?)

Same here, sort of. Lately I'm finding myself not watching too much anime, even though I've spent most of my life obsessed with it. I heard about Bleach when I was just getting into Naruto and everybody was flipping out when they found out I didn't watch it.

I'll try to get into it, i'm sure it's a great series (I mean, to spawn a broadway musical it has to be). I already have the first three volumes, so i'll go pick up some more soon. I don't want to start watching it until i'm caught up compeltely though. I did that with Cowboy bebop and Samurai Champloo, and needless to say there was a lot of confusion on my part.

As an artist myself, I DO love Tite kubo's style. When I heard about Bleach, I was already into his other series, Zombiepower (or powder? I forget. >.>; )

I would love to see that! And now I'm finally caught up with the Japanese dubs...now I have to revert back to an episode per week...yay....Aw well, I'm sure I can find more anime to watch in between.

I also want to see MORE and LONG Zaraki battles...not too many of those.

You should really get Heat the Soul 4, it's excellent. I haven't tried 3, though. HtS4 even lets you change the announcer from like, over 50 choices of characters. Wonderwice attempting to shout "READY, FIGHT!" is brilliant.

Speaking of which, Heat the Soul 5 is released in Japan tomorrow! No doubt it'll be ripped very quickly. I'll be getting that. PLAYABLE RELEASED GRIMMJOW!

I got my Bleach hoodie yaaay! Now I plan on getting an Ichigo shirt. And more Bleach merchandise like plush dolls, and necklaces, and when I get the money, buy me a zanpakuto.

I also have a question. I'm not sure if they explained this in an episode, and I missed it, or they didn't say anything about it at all.

Where do souls go after they die in the Soul Society? Do they become Hollows? And apparently, people can give birth in the Soul Society.

*sigh* Do we really need this many fucking eccentric Arrancar? I was kinda hoping Barragan's Privarron would be... more serious or something, rather than take up an entire chapter with recycled Soul Society jokes. Although Soi Fon's lieutenant making an ass of himself was funny.

Yeah. God forbid we actually get some fighting or plot advancement. I'd rather see Stark talk about how cool he is or something for 15 pages.

I'd rather see Stark talk about how cool he is or something for 15 pages.

That would actually be entertaining.

Here's my problem with the current arc: where the hell is the Ichigo and Ulquiorra fight? We get a glimpse every now and then, Ichigo getting a few yards closer to Ulquiorra, then bam, a lengthy chat between Yamamoto and Aizen's crew about how awesome each of their sides are. It's irritating as hell, 'cause it feels like Ichigo's been looping the same run for weeks now. At least he's actually arrived now, but with the current way Kubo's handling things:

- Ichigo VS Ulquiorra will probably be overshadowed by the Karakura battle
- Ichigo and Ulqui may not even be shown again for weeks

As much as I hate complaining about a manga author's decisions, it's a scary world when Naruto is moving at a faster pace than Bleach.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: ZeaLitY on July 26, 2008, 12:17:57 am
Yeah. And he even taunted us with Ulquiorra's released form. I learned from the Naruto anime that segmenting fights can be a good or bad thing during the Chuunin exam arc, when they kept cutting between Team Gaara vs. the Genin and Orochimaru vs. Sandaime. I really don't want cuts here, because anything taunted -- like the released form --  you know will appear only after 2-4 weeks of the other battle. It's constant cliffhangers.

I am excited about two prospects, though:

Wow. Bleach's strength really is the characters.

Yeah, but currently in the manga they're about to begin (well, more like "may begin sometime towards the end of this year") their inevitable final fight where Ichigo will kick Ulqui's released ass.

No idea. If it's as long as the Bount arc... Jesus.

Quote from: Wikipedia
It is not known at what point this side-story takes place, however there are clues about where it fits in the timeline. For instance, Ichigo has already mastered his hollow transformation, so it must not be prior to the Hueco Mundo arc. Since the Hueco Mundo arc was clearly unfinished at the time this new arc began, it is very likely that the next arc in the series will be that arc's conclusion. However, it still possible there will be yet another "filler" arc after this one is concluded because the manga still does not have very much material in advance of the anime's current (Hueco Mundo) timeline.

There is no official reason to why Bleach is called Bleach that I know of.

The reason may be:

*This isn't just a guess, Kubo Tite said in an interview that he is a Nirvana fan. Although I doubt this is the reason for the name.

Probably due to Nirvana considering pretty much everything Kubo draws is inspired by music.

Boring fight with boring Arrancar with boring uninspired release and boring catchphrase.

lobster wat

"Let's make this guy grow a lobster claw."
"You had a bird man last week, why not go for the full thing and make him a lobster guy?"
"Claw."
"But--"
"CLAW."

Hisagi's Shikai is shown, finally. Heat the Soul 6 could make use of it and actually give him an interesting moveset now.

I hear the fillers are ending by early October.

I also call bullshit, because Ikkaku shouldn't have lost. I think Kubo just wanted to skip his fight and make a bad situation because the other three fights were to display Yumichika, Kira, and Hisagi's powers, but since Ikkaku has already had his Bankai revealed...

I think I posted this a few months back, but:
Quote from: someone on youtube
he looked like gin in that scene, and if mine and my friends fake theiory is correct, gin and urahara will kill aizen from hawaii (urahara openes the gate to wekomundo and gin kills aizen with his bankai which i can only assume is like 3000 miles long)

Yeah. We're getting some plot no jutsu here. Ichigo clearly brushed off lieutenants like they were nothing in the Soul Society arc, and yet now Hisagi and Yumichika are taking out the fraccion of the first three Espada like they're nothing. Hisagi basically has a god mode zanpakuto.

Freaking Ikkaku can't go down that easily...

So Ikkaku isn't dead(good) just beat(really lame) and Yumichika was stopped from helping (also lame), but captain Komamura is now fighting(not lame). Over all the issue is kinda lame, and seemed WAY shorter then normal.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: ZeaLitY on September 19, 2008, 10:34:04 pm
No kidding. I thought the Visored would make their appearance by canning that Hollow in seconds, but it was just lame old Komamura. Seriously, THE Shinigami captain (Kenpachi) isn't in this fight, so it's like battle of the supporting characters until the Visored show up.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: Romana on September 20, 2008, 06:39:50 pm
Ikkaku losing is just pure laziness on Kubo's part, because considering his actual strength and determination, he's pretty much near invincible.

Komamura I like seeing again, since we haven't seen much of him in action and I'd like to see a bit of his backstory. This Po shit or whatever he's called is really annoying me because of the constant stupid 'high and mighty' look on his face. We absolutely do need some speed in the plot though, as of course we're all wondering what in hell's going on back in Hueco Mundo. The Vizard are sure to turn up later... just not soon. They're no doubt being saved for a total badass reveal.

Bleach fillers look to be ending, as it's on what seems to be the final battle of the Captain Shit Stains McVillain arc.

Ukitake versus Stark. Oh, Ukitake; this isn't going to end well.

Kubotite is sort of plot no jutsu-ing these battles. Ichigo's infiltration of Soul Society is back into unbelievable territory, although I still maintain that Kenpachi would have beaten Komamura.

Nope, kinda lost interest in it because Hitsugaya was the main focus. What's it like?

The Hueco Mundo anime arc is back! Episode 190 for those steering clear of the fillers. The first half is a recap, by the way (of Ichigo and the Ulqui/Grimmjow fights), but damn, it's finally back. New opening song is by Aqua Timez.

Yeah, I was worried about Hitsugaya too, but a LOT of other captains and lieutenants get face time (as reasonable as you can expect in the time constraints). There's some fanservice bankais, and...

Well, watch it now. Soon, I'll post a SPRINGTIME OF YOUTH explosion of awesome screencaps from it, but I wouldn't want to spoil what happens. I was satisfied.

On another note, the hard to find Bleach Movie 2 soundtrack has a lot of music being used in the anime right now, including

Hell yas. We need to see the long-delayed IchiUlqui fight so Grimmjow can pop in at the end and say something badass about Ulquiorra losing. Then he can join the good side and kick ass in Karakura.

I actually recently heard his VA in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's as a 'minor character of the week'. Really distinct voice.

...Where the fuck's Yammy? I forgot about him. Same with Wonderwice; I've seen some theories that he's a 'Zero' Espada.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread

Yeah, seems like Kubotite forgot to pair Yammy with someone, and he just got left in the dust. Hah, you KNOW that having Grimmjow show up at the end of the Ulquiorra fight and saying "lol u suck, Ichigo lets go beat that Aizen fuker" is my DREAM. We need IchiUlqui also so Ichigo can finally use his pink cero.

And the end of Bleach should be a futurespective thing where upgraded Grimmjow and Bankai-enabled Kenpachi decide to have a friendly fight to see who's stronger.

JESUS CHRIST, I keep forgetting I downloaded The Diamonddust Rebellion and have it sitting on my PSP. Thanks for reminding me.

Soul Carnival is FUN and very addictive. The chibi style and button mashing makes it insanely good, and there's a lot of hilarious stuff. Hell, it even parodies its own source material at some parts; for instance, Kira moping in a whiny voice to a sad piano theme while Ichigo sweatdrops. It's great. Slightly more unnerving is finding Hinamori murmuring "I love you captain..." (This takes place post-SS arc)

Another funny thing is pretty much every major character ignoring Ichigo's protests that the Arrancar are coming. Renji, Kenpachi, etc all just challenge him instead and he makes an annoyed face. Fantastic.

Just got my ass handed to me by Kenpachi, understandably.

YOU HAVE NOT LIVED UNTIL YOU'VE SEEN CUTESY CHIBI BANKAI IKKAKU CRUSHING EVERYTHING IN A WHIRLWIND

How did you like Grimmjow's final spot in the anime?

I'm so glad they used the same sad theme for his scene that they did for his Ichigo beatdown during the Arrancar invasion arc. I really have a soft spot for him; I think one of the manga chapters was entitled "Loneliness of the King," and that sort of sums him up. He roamed the deserts of Heuco Mundo alone, and now all his Fraccion are dead...
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread

FINALLY watched Dance Dance Revolution The Diamonddust Rebellion the other night. Awesome, I really enjoyed it. The depth of Hitsugaya's character and his dialogue with Ichigo surprised me, I didn't expect it to be much more than a fanservice fest (until I realised Kubo wrote it). The whole thing with Ichigo comparing Hitsugaya to himself shortly after his mother's death is something that really stood out to me. The Kusaka plot was pretty good, too. Too bad this stuff's non-canon (since the manga showed the actual way Hitsu met Hyouninmaru)...

The scene where Kenpachi just fucking runs out and attacks Kusaka is hilariously awesome, it feels so out of place and sudden it's like it wasn't even supposed to happen; like Kenpachi wrote himself into the fight. You can imagine the animators doing a final test run of the movie, seeing Kenpachi leap out of nowhere, and they say "I don't remember this being in the script..."
The part where he lifts a fucking building off himself with his reiatsu to that badass music... holy shit that's epic. WHY isn't that on the OST?! Maybe he made that himself, too... Holy crap, maybe his reiatsu even plays his theme songs!

Oh yeah, latest manga chapter... Hurray for Omaeda, I guess. Ggio is awesome. I wanted to upload that cool title page, but I'm stuck on Wii internet for now.

CAN'T BEAT YAMAMOTO IN SOUL CARNIVAL

BUT I CAN PLAY AS CHIBI KENPACHI NOW
IT'S AWESOME

Oh, Grimmjow's last bit in the anime... I thought it was done well. The part where he was trying to fight on with his injuries to that music is a little heart-wrenching. It's pretty great how his solitude has been highlighted as both his source of corruption and the reader's reason for sympathy. That chapter in particular really struck me; after all, it's where we see another side to Grimmjow and that he's much deeper than just another rival to Ichigo (like how Renji was developed).

3rd movie in the works:

Quote
Bleach - Fade to Black: Kimi no Na wo Yobu Movie

A mysterious reiatsu (spiritual particle) explosion occurs in the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, causing it to be destroyed. At the exact same time, a major change overwhelms Kuchiki Rukia, which leaves her losing something important inside. Urahara Kisuke sends Kurosaki Ichigo to Soul Society to investigate the disturbance. Upon reaching Seireitei, Ichigo is set upon and attacked by shinigamis, once allies, who have no memory of him and Rukia. Now alone and on the run, Ichigo must find the missing Rukia and uncover the cause of the mysterious incident before it's too late.

I like the sound of it, especially since Rukia's one of my favourite characters.

Today's chapter... hm... I guess Soi Fon/Soy Phone/Sway Funk/ was rather cool, but I agree more with Omaeda's decision to save her over the crappy "let your ally be killed" mentality.

Poor Ggio, though. He was awesome.

I've never seen the anime or read the manga. Should I start? I used to love Naruto, until I realized how stupid a Ninja wearing bright Orange clothes was. I like anime art style in general, and one of my best friends just adores this series. Apperently, it really is good.

I haven't watched it since the vampire episodes. Kind of turned me off from it, but that was filler anyway. I would definitely recommend what I have watched. The filler is definitely better than Naruto's anyway.

English or Japanese with subtitles (I ussually find Japanese better but you guys know better then I do)

I usually watch english dubs just because it's my native language and I get distracted with what's going on if I read what they are saying. It all comes down to personal preference and if your used to the original japanese voice acting then sometimes it can be weird to watch if the english actor sounds polar opposite to mannerisms you're used to hearing.

There are way worse dubs out there then Bleach, so what ever your preference is really. Just know that the english dubbed version is on ep. 112 and the original Jap w/subtitles is on 199, or is it 200 today?

So did I, what I meant was they could easily stretch the Pendulum arc out with filler material if they really need to.

No-one dies in Bleach! Loli and Menoly will no doubt be clobbered by Grimmjow, permanently this time.

There'll be a huge Cero that vaporizes them on the spot, and Orihime turns around to see the Jaggerjack walking out of the dust clouds cracking his neck lazily and looking around.

"Yo."

I'm wondering just how far this Hollowification thing's going to go. That panel seems to just scream visceral instinct, so I'm guessing that Ichigo became more like a Hollow versus Ulquiorra became more human.

No, Ichigo x Rukia.

PYT

WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO SAVE ICHIGO

I'M REALLY SCARED, FOR REAL

Edit: Wait, I've got it.

Two scenarios in my judgment.

1. Ichigo goes full Hollow out of nowhere.
2. Ichigo goes inside the spirit world again, where Hichigo teaches him his pink Cero.

Grimmjow is optional. But with Ulquiorra this strong, I'd prefer if Grimmjow stayed away until the fight's over.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: KebreI on February 13, 2009, 02:48:28 pm
I personally can still see Grimmjow as a legitimate option. But HIchigo coming out is the most likely outcome.
Title: Re: The Much-Needed Bleach Thread
Post by: Romana on February 13, 2009, 04:04:59 pm
I think Ichigo and Hichigo are gonna come to an agreement and join forces or something, so Ichigo will fight in total balance without his mask. Or scenario 1, yeah.

Although I think (and I'd rather it this way) Ichigo will win through pure determination rather than springing out a new technique.

Oh, and IchiRuki is adorable and works so well.

Also, Urahara's shop x Karakura clinic.

I'm watching the Anime first because I can eat and be lazy instead of clicking continuously. Speaking of eating, Apparently sixth graders really like me, because I got a LOT of freaking candy at school. And I bought myself some. Sixth graders only because Eighth and Seventh hate me... And oh yes, I'm right after Ganju realizes that Rukia killed his brother or something and is about to get his ass handed to him by Kuchiki... Whatever, I can't remember his full name, but he's the captain of squad 6. And that fight between Ichigo and Ridiculously powerful eyepatch guy ZeaLity used as an avatar recently was epic.

Pyt, if you download subs, you might check out these rips:

Insanely high quality with soft subs, meaning you can make screencaps without words. I think this is basically Bleach's native resolution. Here are four screencaps from the intro (bigger than they appear here):

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Also, in Naruto, that was one kickass chapter.

And fridge brilliance just hit me again with a sudden realization: Zetsu and Kisame are still 'extracting' the beast from the Ox-man, who woke up and stuck away at the start of it. I know I brought this up before, but with the length of time it takes for even nine members to extract, imagine how hilariously slow it'll be for two, and all for nothing.

I AM THE STAR OF THE SHOW

I love Shirosaki. He represents that naked, tireless, passionate will and propensity for dreaming at heart, frustratingly diluted in expression or held back and paradoxically kept alive by the body in which it is contained.

Ulquiorra's not dead. If he is dead, then we're getting a flashback, which might involve Grimmjow. Can't wait.

Bleach rocks!!!

I just started a few days ago. I'm on chapter 64 with manga. But where's Grimmjow?! He's supposed to be like super awsome right?

Regarding the latest chapter:

:grimm Considering there are quite a few need Bleach fans in the thread now, try it to keep it from being spoiled for the readers who aren't up to date with the story. If you want to discuss new chapters, make sure to spoiler tag posts and keep pages in links. :grimm

Turns up shortly after the Soul Society arc.

I didn't read the manga much, but I watched all the episodes. I really liked the Soul Society arc, Ichigo's fights against the Shinigami were cool. After that came the Bounto arc, which was filler and made me puke, several times. What's worse is that three of those horrid characters from the filler arc remained in the anime to screw up even some manga episodes. Arggh.

Anyway, after that the whole arc with the Espada coming was very cool as well. However, regarding the manga, I feel Bleach is slowly coming to a conclusion. Mr. A is, you know, the fire thingy, hm hmm, and the Espada are slowly being dealt with.... It's only a matter of time until Mr. A releases his hm-hm-kai and the final battle engages.

Hope it was subtle enough for those who don't wanna be spoiled.

Here's a picture of Ichigo and Orihime in a dark alley at night, presumably surrounded on all sides by hollows (or something possibly even worse). I've long been a fan of Bleach, and an image like this is something I've been meaning to work on for a long time now.

Hey look it the main character!

I don't see Hitsushitter anywhere.

Funny enough, I thought this week's chapter was pretty great. It feels all the more satisfying since Yammy beat the crap out of Ichigo - on a fluke! - back in the Arrancar arc. I'd still love to see someone take over for Ichigo while he leaves for Karakura, say... Unohana. Pleeeeeeeeease, Kubo? You said you were saving her fight for something special, after all. Let her tear apart Mr Cero.

I was hoping to bleach my hair one day so I can dye it blue easier............. Oh wait we're discussing the anime.

Waiting for Ulquiorra's much-needed flashback. He finally realized it wasn't coming.

Ah, so that's the source. Ugh, H2 Ichigo is so amazing in color. I can't wait to see how this gets animated.

I've been enjoying the Zanpakuto arc. I've sort of become a fanboy of Murasama, and it was fun to find out that Kouga seems to be the onle cool Kuchiki to ever live (that is, to not be a flagrant jerk). I'm sure we'll get the obligatory Byakuya face-turn on Kouga, ugh. The flashback proved once again that Yamamoto is a giant bastard.

This is one of the few (only?) times I can say I'm enjoying filler anime more than the manga. They did a complete injustice to the depth of Tosen's character by reducing him to the corny 'power-corrupted villian, who later realizes the error of his ways through various flashbacks' cliche. His character just had so much more potential.

I stopped reading Bleach when Yammy (I think that was his name) revealed he was the CERO ESPADA, even though the captains easily owned him in the real world earlier in the series, and Ishida blew him up. I have no clue what happens after that, but it's a gaping plot hole from my standing. I guess I can continue Bleach now that I'm done with One Piece.

I stopped reading Bleach when Yammy (I think that was his name) revealed he was the CERO ESPADA, even though the captains easily owned him in the real world earlier in the series, and Ishida blew him up.

Yammy only becomes Zero because he spends the entire Hueco Mundo arc eating and building up energy. It's really probably just a self-proclaimed title, and he's nothing more than Zero in strength only, whereas, say, Starrk would easily defeat him with no trouble because he's intelligent and Yammy isn't. Look at how Ichigo was handling him compared to Ulquiorra (until his reiatsu messed up and he fell). It's just a matter of having ridiculously huge strength and not having the brains or training to use it; the same as Isshin and Grand Fisher's conversation except on a bigger scale. At least that's how I see it. But yeah, it is a really stupid twist...
