I was thinking about this while watching advent children, who would win? In my personal opinion, I think... uhhh... I think... Gah, it's to hard for me to decide.

As much as I love Crono, I'd have to give it to Sephiroth.
He's just too powerful.

I put cant decide, but if crono is as powerful as cloud he could have a chance.

Crono is more interesting than Sephiroth, and he took out Lavos, while Sephiroth was taken out by Cloud, a somewhat less powerful person.
Therefore, Crono wins on both counts.
I should, however, point out that this interesting bit is relative...neither Sephioroth nor Crono are fleshed-out fully human characters...they're both more like one-dimensional attempts. Crono, however, was meant that way, so he gets a bonus, versus Sephiroth, who just keeled over and collapsed.

My vote goes to Chrono, he took down lavos, Queen Zeal, Motherbrain, etc. etc. Meanwhile Sephiroth was taken out by a whinny, emo, punk teenager, that can't comb his own hair with out his moms help.

Well, actually I think Crono has unlimited clones, if one is "used"(like for saving him), he can get another one from Northstein(sp?), while Sephoroth may have only a limited amount, yet all at the same time.

Anyway, there is a flaw in your logic. Sephiroth's clones are battle-worthy fighters...most of them are extreme pushovers, but they can still fight. Crono's clones...
Crono's clones are gigantic plush dolls. Unless you want to see Sephiroth clones LAUGHING to death, I wouldn't try using them.

If you think about it, if Sephiroth had the Black Materia, he could just summon a meteor and destroy the Planet.
Or summon Lavos.

Actually that is a good question. But seeing as how it's just Magus, and Sephiroth has so many clones of himself, Sephiroth would win. Unless Magus had help from his Mystic army, Slash, Flea, and Ozzie. Then maybe, but my money's on Sephy on that one.

Magus can easily nuke Sephiroth & his clones with shadow magic... If a defective clone can kill the original, surely Crono or Magus can beat the original Sephiroth & his clone buddies.

Basically Materia & Jenova cells (bleh) v. the basic Magic that's incorperated within the Chrono universe...
I'll go with Crono on this one since he took out Lavos...what did Sephiroth do? Kill some villagers? Wait, was that him? Half the people that played & loved FFVII don't even know all the answers...

Well, yes, that much is obvious. As I said earlier, both characters are one-dimensional, but unlike Sephiroth, Crono was intended that way, while Sephiroth just keels over and whines about his mommy.

Well, I think Id from Xenogears is much more charismatic, and he's one of the few villain who is actually frightening in both the storyline and the gameplay battles... Each time he appears in the game, you know something HUGE will happen...
But unfortunately, Id is less remembered (or simply known) than Sephiroth since Xenogears didn't get much exposure commercially.

He's not Charismatic at all. Personally I think he had a bit of an Oedipus complex.

Sephiroth is a common target. I have a unique view of him consisting largely of my own assigned traits coupled with his amazing style and charisma, and I only first played FF7 in 2005. So I'm not with the original fanboys. Anyway, there was a recent topic in which someone wasn't kidding, and that's why.

Hm. Honestly? If you consider Sephiroth the amazing, suped-up on Lifestream warhero of SOLDIER, not Sephiroth thestupid, ugly, kill-him-in-four-hits final boss, I think it would be a tie, or a very close match, in Crono's favor.
Now, if we were talking Crono vs. Goose on the other hand, our redheaded hero is definitely screwed.

As powerful as Sephiroth is (and damn badass in the AC fight), I'd say that Crono could whoop him. Think about it: Crono has some pretty awesome moves, like Cyclone (infusing the power of the wind into his blade and his movements), all his Lightning abilities (with which he could fry even the molecules in Sephiroth's body if he tried), and don't forget that one technique that he can send a shockwave of energy at a target that can 'rip through it like a massive power saw'. Oh yeah, I say that Crono could definitely have some decent advantage against Seph.

I dunno...Crono is powerful, but so is Sephiroth. It would be a very close match, but I think Crono would come out on top.

seriously the first time i saw sephiroth(and didn't know that it was ff7 during the jenova pulled off the machine) I thought it was CT sequel or something. Sephiroth looked like Magus. jenova was like a mutated queen zeal. cloud was like crono and marle's son(spiky blond hair). so I really think Sephiroth and Cloud were unoriginaly desined. (sorry for the bad spelling)

Unoriginally designed, I believe. I'll agree to a certain extent that all of Nomura's designs are more or less uninspired. I won't agree with any of the reasons you state...Sephiroth looks like Magus? He WISHES! lol

I don't think he does. But I haven't seen AC or FF7 in a long time. So there's another reason why Magus PWNs on Seph's ass, because only pimps have widow's peaks. ^.^

Crono Beat Sephiroth and they set up a bet beforehand saying that the looser has todo anything the winner wants and Crono had Sephiroth do his chores for a year, and day 1 Sephiroth's had enough to last him a life time, and Crono being and acting like a goof-ball and nagging Sephiroth to feed his cats. Lucca makes a smart remark about the situation while Marle is oblivious to everything being said. get it now
