Simple question!
-
Simple question, tough descision! All them has potentials to become a great fanfics. But what I really looking forward to is Chrono Crisis.
-
The only ones I've really seen much of anything from is Crisis and Echoes...I'll give the edge to Crisis though...Was Echoes the one on RPGMaker *whatever-the-fuck-edition*? Well, either way, I still just hope that ANY of these bastards gets finished, that in itself would be quite the accomplishment for the Chrono community at large...
-
Crimson Echoes will be absolutely fantastic and all... but I had to say Chrono Crisis. All them screenshots have gotten me wantin' it. :D
-
Hoo boy, 10 votes.
-
Chrono Crisis gets my vote. I've seen everything but the plot, and even though the plot is the most important part, everything else looks good.
-
Crimson Echoes. The only one simple enough to be finished before the rest. Plus, it's not super advanced. Crisis may be good but Echoes..... ya mama!
-
Hm, I wonder if anyone from Square Enix has been playing the Crimson Echoes demo... :lee: That'd be cool.
-
Have you ever wondered if someone from Square Enix is a Compendiumite and regularly checks the forums and posts his or her ideas? And he or she is getting ideas from the fan projects and is compiling tham all into one huge turn based RPG sequel to Chrono Trigger.
-
Time's Illusion, but that's just because I'm working on it. :D
-
... I feel so inadquate right now.
-
The Novel Project! What else? I mean really its like Chrono Trigger on the go. It'll be cool to have the story retold in a new way.
-
Im looking foward Echos the most because it is most likely to be the first one finished and i liked the demo
-
The Novel Project! (I'll give you one good guess why I chose that one....)
-

cause you hate me. and puppies.
-
Any project is ok. I recommend to make a Chrono m.u.g.e.n. I like the fighting games :D
-
cause you hate me. and puppies.
LOL -- Yep, you got it! :p
-
One that actually finishes.
another old topic i know......
-
Chrono Crisis is my choice.
The screenshots are great.
-

Maybe they'd remember how it was before everything was about "corporate success"
-
Crimson Echoes. 8)
Can't look forward to my own project! ...I CAN look forwards to completion of my own project in my own way though! Ha ha.
-
Chrono Crisis and Crimson Echoes are tied for me. I chose Crimson Echoes though because I love CT and the chars, so I'll probably love it, since it involves the same characters I already know and love.
Sorry for resurrecting the thread. >.>
-
Chrono Crisis...
simply because it's the one I KNOW BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT is making real, true progress...

...
I could so slap you right now.

If this novel project is just a scam by ZeaLitY, I'll kill him in his sleep. I love reading things like this. It gives me a better understanding of things. Like... if I could read FF8 as a book, I might be more likely to play it as a game.
... well, for Schala, here, I guess, zombie threads are as common as zombie Aurons. Damn you, Seymour! Quit making Auron a zombeh!
-
Um, the CTNP has been around for longer than the Compendium. I've never been an advocate because it treats itself like it's more than just the fanfiction that it is.

Aha, that is the first time in a while I've used that picture in a positive context. Yes, I do not sleep; I wait...
-
Yes, I do not sleep; I wait...
OH SNAP ZEALITY IS CHUCK NORRIS! ZOMG!
-
... I... I'm gonna curl up... and watch illegally dubbed Code: Geass now... *sniff* I hate you all... I was PSYCHED about this... but good news is, sis says if I bring back some pants I swiped, I can play ROMs again!
On the topic of Chuck Norris... Chuck Norris eats steak every night. But he forgets to kill the cow.

I'm rather interested in how Square will react to the Novel Project. The writing quality is excellent IMHO (I found the passage about fern leaf chili at the Imp's house touching for some bizarre reason -- reminded me of the detail Tolkien would give to a random Hobbit meal), making it of greater-than-negligible threat to Square's/Kato's/Horii's/whoever's intellectual property. I think the novel team is going to submit a proposal to Square Enix at some point.
Fan novels, when treated right, can be very beautiful works of art. My favorite video game-to-novel adaptation, by far, was a Mortal Kombat book published a very long time ago. That author took great liberties with the story, and it worked. Thing is, there was very little material to work with in the Mortal Kombat universe at that point in time, giving the author largely free reign over the scenario. The CT Novel Project seems to be pretty focused on re-creating canon, which makes me worry about the Project's ability to maintain a proper suspension of disbelief, which is key if the work is to appeal to audiences outside Chrono fandom. I mean, we've got talkng dinosaurs and giant space slugs here.
Will Compendium theory be featured in the CT Novel Project? How would everyone feel about that sort of thing? Seems to me incorporating some technical explanation for what the heck's going on could only enrich the work. And some amount of technical explanation is crucial to maintaining a suspension of disbelief.
-
I think it would be pretty badass if there was Compendium theory involved in the novel. A lot of our theories make the game less head-explody for me. That's always a good thing.
Anyone have a link? I'd love to take a look.
-
Normally I'd let CTNovelist do the honors, but it's impossible to tell when he'll drop by next.

Since I'm on one of my bizarre pro-feminist binges right now, I must say that I'm horribly miffed at their official animated icon. It may be considered "cute" by some fans, but it does nothing to help the project's legitimacy or the social advancement of videogame heroines.
EDIT: Teaflower! Your avatar! It...transforms. That's some identity crisis Magus is having.
-
Thank you! As soon as I stop being lazy and hunt down the URL for the Magus face, I'll throw him in there. Every now and then, he has to be himself. Although I would LOVE for there to be a Vincent face... that would make me scream in fangirl hapiness. (if you guess who/what all of them are, I'll give you a snickerdoo--... forget it, my pet Mewtwo ate them all... DAMMIT ACKERS!)
Um... I'll... bookmark this once I get back onto Firefox. My sis and I are/were doing something requiring IE. I HATE IE.
-
Had anyone played chrono shift ??
Is not bad but it has a lots of bugs...
-
what in gaea's navel is 'chrono shift'?!?
-
(http://www.chronocompendium.com/images/wiki/a/a5/Chronoshift.png)
Chrono Shift is an old RPGMaker2000 game. Download it here (http://www.4shared.com/file/15481290/e73acd9/chrono_shift.html?s=1) and the necessary runtimes here (http://www.4shared.com/file/17079604/943f9754/RTPe.html?s).
I mean, c'mon people, blood, sweat, & tears (mostly just ZeaLitY's) went into the making of the Encyclopedia...use it!!
-
oh yeah... saw that a while back... wasn't enough to spark my interest.
and why should i use the 'pedia when you can be be my bia and look it up for me?!?!
(just kidding. that was not nice of me.)
-
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, but how many of the listed projects are still ongoing?
-
Crimson echoes for sure!
-
Sure Chrono shift is good but why mines always crashes!!
-
Aww, I wanted to be the one to do the story and artwork for em! =\
-
wtf are you talking about?
-
XD For Crisis and/or Crimson Echoes, that is!
-
BUMP! Let's get some input from all the new crowd!
-
CTNP FTW!
-
"Fan Project", indeed! It's an overblown, glorified fanfic, if you ask me. You just find new ways to disappoint me, don't you, Shadow?
j/k...
mostly...>_>
-
I remember IcyBrian having a CT/CC crossover fanfic called "Chrono Shift" once. I might be wrong. Can someone go check? I can't go there on this laptop.
-
Crimson Echoes. I really can't wait.
As for Crisis, when was the last update...? =/
-
Crimson echoes and Chrono trigger + by zakyrus ! both great !
-
Righto, I've been looking forward to Crimson Echoes for some time now. I can't wait. And I'd say CTNP is a close second--I really wanna see the fruition of their efforts.
-
Concerning CE, I'm hoping someone puts vids up on YouTube. *looks at Faust and Justin with an eyebrow raised*
EDIT: To be more specific, I mean a playthrough or something close. Commentary is optional but would be greatly appreciated.
-
Eh, I say they should keep this thing as under wraps as they can till the release. Too much attention could hinder advancement for the project.
Whatever though, curiosity does tend to get the best of us.
-
Most looking forward to? Chrono Crisis.
Most expecting? Crimson Echoes
-
mav = Spoiler hater = FAIL
Sorry, but I am a spoiler hater hater. Look at the text under my avvie.
EDIT: Again, my apologies to those offended by that.
-
Heh, in all honesty there's quite a difference between spoilers and the need to focus on game development. If these guys had to keep releasing updates it would get in their way: we'd be asking them how to play through this part, we'd give useless input, we'd incorrectly assume things are already finalized, and we'd hamper them till they gave us the response we wanted, which ultimately takes away their time from the actual project. Like I said, we're curious by nature, so I can understand why we'd all want to see updates and hear commentary and such, but I'd much rather just see these guys spend their time the way they want.
That's my opinion, you're welcome to have your own.
-
And though I don't think it would effect any of these releases, if CT:R & CTRP didn't release so much info, they probably would have been able to actually release their remakes...
-
I agree. In fact I'm positive that they would have at least made it a little further along. I don't expect SE to come after some of these projects, but not all attention is good...
-
I'm really looking forward to Chrono Crisis, Crimson Echos, and CT+. I really hope they all make it through the stretch. No offense to the other projects, but I haven't really been following them.
-
Most wanted: Chrono Crisis
One to expect soon: Crimson Echoes
-
Most Wanted: The ability to play Prophet's Guile. (Seriously, I can't play it, but I want to.)
One to expect: CT - Schala Project.
-
Wait, why can't you play Prophet's Guile...it's amazing. Send me a PM to let me know what's going on with it, and I'll try and help you out.
-
None of the stuff I downloaded will run. This is a school laptop, and I can't run shit if they don't want me to.
-
Ah, that's fuckin' terrible man...I thought it'd be some kind of problem with the rom itself...Hopefully you'll get something figured out before the Schala hack comes to surface.
-
Meh, I should have my own comp back by then. Currently the CPU is filling in for my mom's b/c is crashed in January.
-
Funny how most of these projects are dead.
-
Maybe make a new one for this year?
-

Out of that crop, CE automatically wins because it's coming out in a couple months, so polling expectations would be sort of useless.
I poured 40 hours into CE this week. So did JP...and Chrono'99's been pouring hours into it also.
-
Hell yes! We all appreciate it! Thanks guys! This is going to be great!!!
I am going to explode with anticipation! It's going to be much better then CTDS!!!!
Crimson Echoes is awesome, I wish I could help somehow!! I have no idea HOW I could though...
-
yeah, I'm definitely anticipating the hell out of Crimson Echoes. Though, to be completely biased, I really can't wait to see what my project would be as a video game. but that's a LONG way off yet, lol.
-
Wow, Ayla learns telekinesis, awesome!
-
Hmm... Interesting find, ZeaLitY. When did you discover it?
-
Just a few nights ago when I first made my pre-beta test playthrough.
-
So, how did any of these turn out? :?
-
I don't think ANY of those games got released.
-
Yeah, pretty sure none were finished entirely. :-(
