Title: Threads of Time

We have currently started a new project to hold threads of time off for a bit.  We have 1 hero for our new project but he has no name.

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Weapon: Batleth/Batleth Sword/Fists - Martial Arts
Element: Not known as of now
Origin: 2100 AD
Information:  -No Town of Origin-- this is temporary info, he is still in the midts of changing--  He is a rank 1 soldier as of now.  He was gifted with extrodinary skills at his age and has been honing them since he was just a child.  He wears a Silverish/Grayish Armor that represents the soldiers of Rank 1.  He has loved bandana's since he was young, they were a hobby for him to make.  He usually carries his weapons around but if not, he is a master of martial arts as well to protect himself incase a threat comes near.

No it is not Rpg Maker.  It's purely Temporal Flux.

I have a couple ?'s.
1.) Do you need any help with this project.
2.) How long have you been working on this?
3.) Who will be the main PC's
4.) Will there be any CT or CC charaters?
5.) Are you going to get your own project forum, for further comments and updates?

1) We might need help with a few map makers in TF

2) Not to long...bout a week now, but we got some of the plot down (even though it seems awkward to me =/)

3) The Main FEMALE Protaganist has no name as of yet.  She's still in the making atm, same with the male.  But expect them soon.
(http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/719/newherobattlestancebig3gt.gif) - This is Demo of what her battle stance maybe.  The suit is being updated and the hair is maybe being changed.  I also just noticed that the way she's holding the gun is messed up...It wasn't like that before, anyways ill work on her a bit and get a fixed one.


4) No ct or Cc characters.  This game is based off another dimension of CT where the heroes never existed.

5) We have a project forum for Threads of Time, but we're going to need to have another.  It's up to Zeality, but personally, i'm afraid to ask.  I don't really wanna get him mad ><.  But if we do have another project forum, it may be open to the public but who knows.

6) (extra thing not asked) As of now the game doesn't EVEN HAVE a name.  We are still coming up with one =/.  Contribute some ideas if you guys feel like it.

I thought it was called Threads of Time, but if thats not the case... lets see.. Chrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers then Chrono Cross... hmmm... Chrono Weave? Chrono Combine? Chrono Complex? Twisted Fate? Chrono Illuions, like what happened never really happend, Alternative Trigger? hmmm.. i look over what i typed AND IT"S ONE BIG Clich'e..... Chrono Diverse (diverse meaning: Not like another in nature, quality, amount, or form), Chrono Wreathe (To move or proceed on a repeatedly curving course: coil, corkscrew, curl, entwine, meander, snake, spiral, twine, twist, weave, wind 2) thats about it outta me, ill reply if i come up with anything else

Im pretty sure Zeality is human. I don't think it would be to much to ask for, unless that is, alot of people have asked and havent followed the forum rules (which im not saying has happend, but there is that possibillity)

I personally think Time's Illusion is a good one but meh...Who knows...What do you guys think?

Illusion of Time already exists though. It's Illusion of Gaia's name in Europe, the "sequel" to Soul Blazer and "prequel" to Terranigma...

I dunno, names are hard to come by...

Chrono Blue.
Champions of Zeal.
Heroes of Time.
Chrono Ex Machina (translated as 'Time from the machine').

I dunno...I can't think of anything.

Anyways, the idea sounds pretty good...
     But just to put in some personal criticism, I have a hard time accepting that the hero uses a Klingon battle sword.  knew I'd heard Batleth (sp?!) before but I couldn't remember what it was, so I wiki'ed it...and I just don't like the idea.  It's not even a cool weapon (in my personal opinion).  Something more along the lines of Serge's Swallow, Squall's Gunblade, or even Zidane's ('Swallow' inspired) Thief-blades would be more fitting...  Just a thought.

Wait what?  It's from startrek O.o  But I changed him a bit earlier.  He maybe using daggers or something.  Gunblade may work but remember he's taking the place of Crono so he won't be shooting stuff.  Giving him a swallow will make him look to much like Serge.  He can only used melee based weapons mainly because of the stupid limitation of the battle system.

So basically he could use:
Daggers
Fists/Feet (AKA Martial Arts)
Swords
Swallows (I prolly won't use them but I may as a last resort if I have to)
Pole Arm
Maybe even a Katar

Can't he use throwing weapons if the animation is changed? It might look a bit awkward, but with appropriate graphic hack it could look decent.

Mmh, we might not be speaking about the same thing, because I clearly see a flying slash when I swap Crono's attack animation with Lucca's (or Marle's? dunno). It could be interpreted as a throwing knife (if the sword that Crono still holds in his arm is removed with graphic hack). I'm just giving an opinion though, you're the one who decides :)

you could call it chi, like the japs, or is in the chinisse? whatever it is you could use your main charater and say he was raised by ninja's, if you dont wanna do that, you could allways just leave him with the sword you planned. It's you game make it to your need homie.

When it's Magus, the flying, moving slash is even sort of rotating in addition to moving towards the enemy. I assume there is also some way to swap that secundary sprite.

Bah, i'm still sucky at hex editing and stuff, so i assumed you couldn't do it.  But Marle isn't going to be playable so maybe i could replace her animation of shooting with a throwing knife or something?  What are the hex addresses for crono and what should i replace.  I kinda want to figure this out, and see what I can do.

I learned the trick from a thread Chickenlump made: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php?topic=2000

The attack animations starts at CD5EC6. They are in this order (2 bytes each):

Crono (normal) - Crono (critical) - Marle (normal) - Marle (critical) - Lucca (normal) - etc.

Though I'm not sure whether it's Marle or Lucca that comes first. Just copy-paste a value somewhere else and the animation will be changed. An animation can be used more than once also. There are other stuff in CL's post but I didn't really mess with them (*is kinda afraid*).

Maybe I should write this in the wiki when I get the chance.

I'm gonna be posting a video of some...Odd stuff that happened when I hex edited Crono's Attacks.  You maybe surprised at some of them O.o or just be wtfish but yeah I'll post it once it's ready.

You mention that the project is going to be set in some sort of alternate dimension from chrono trigger. I am excited to see how you are planning on tieing this in without stepping too much on Chrono Cross. Keep up the good work my man.

Kind of complicated, a lot of stuff happens and I'm not even sure where each part starts and ends. But it's interesting... It would be nice if all these attack tricks would be precisely figured out one day.

We are making lots of progress.  Only problem, as posted in Kajar, is the palette's and stuff on 1999 AD...Only thing that can be changed is the ocean palette and the L1/2 palette, nothing else.  I seriously wonder what's wrong with that...

Do you use all the overworlds? If not maybe you could just swap 1999 AD with another era so that it looks the same but without the issues.

Small update, there will be certain ct stuff to be expected in this game.  In a "secret ending"  :lol:  We may throw a preview of it in the game demo when it comes out but who knows.  You'll see  :D
