Title: Notices from the Moderator/Director
Post by: Lordchander on January 26, 2006, 04:09:37 am
Announcement: Please dont be alarmed if your post count suddenly drops. This is a side effect of me cleaning up the Forum, this is a daunting task which requires me to assess what should be changed or deleted or whatever. Please don't think you have been spamming or anything because your post count has dropped.

This will also be a thread where notices from me will come through during moderation. So there will be lots of double-posting (or triple-posting...o.0)

Title: No Prologue
Post by: Lordchander on January 26, 2006, 04:19:45 am
Announcement: It was discussed a while ago that there may be an opening scene where Schala will be doing an opening narration. I found this quite un-related, so it has now been cut from the project due to time restrictions and the fact it is pretty much useless.

Heh, post count is about the last thing on my mind, so do your worst.  :P

Cutting the Schala introduction is fine with me.

Announcement: The Operation Lordchander Clean-Up is nearly finished. Just before I sign off, I am warning everyone in the team that evil is inherent in my PC. I think I may have a Virus. So if you dont hear from me for like weeks then...well...u know what happened.

If you dont here from me again: Good luck with completeing the series!

Announcement: Alrighty, Im lucky, I got rid of the Virus (it wasnt major thank the Lord) and I am also proud to say that Operation Lordchander Clean-up is complete! Though things may look a bit strange at first, you will understand it fairly easily.

Locked Threads: These are threads that ive thought we may need to return to if the need arises. Ive locked them due to the fact that they should only be used asa reference thread. Please notify me in this thread here if you wish to have it unlocked so we can discuss. Or alternativly, head to the stickied "Project FAQ" thread and ask about it.

Stickied Threads: Yes there are lots of them ( ), but I found that this is the best way to keep things organized. As you have noticed, some old threads have been put in the Sticky section instead of being Locked due to the fact that these are interesting topics which we can refer to and discuss easily. You may also have noticed that each Episode so far has been placed within this section. When someone else posts a new thread for the nect Episode, I want them to sticky it please (im pretty sure you guys can because I recall me being able to before I got the job as Mod) for easy organization and reference.

Im pretty sure everything is up to standard now. PLEASE inform me if you think something isnt right, or have advice on different ways to do things etc. I think its time for the Project to get underway now.

Sounds heavy, Lordchander. By the way, how long do you expect the Flash Series to take to construct? Have you managed to do any of the eps. yet?

Episodes done: 0 :(

As for time, that depends on (1) the size and motivation of the team and (2) what kind of product we want. Doing original artwork and using voice acting would take a lot more time and require many more people than using sprites and subtitles, though it would also make for a more rewarding result.

Preferably I would like to have the best product we can create. It should be noted that hardly anyone has posted here in a while. I have been attending to personal affairs, and im also afraid that Specter and SSJoseph may have abandoned us. Though I highly doubt this, im afraid if we lost our main flash creator, we could be screwed...which brings up something else, Luminaire, are you skilled any area of Flash? Simply wondering, considering I dont even have the program and Ive worked a tiny bit of it at school (and even then it was very small).

Good news on that front, I think. Today I finally obtained a copy of Macromedia Flash.  :D

I have not programmed in Flash before, but I have programmed a lot in other languages, so I expect to pick it up rather quickly. Look for an update towards the end of the weekend.

The script stands where it has been for a while. Drafts are written through the first visit to the End of Time.

I'm a little stuck there because I'm not sure how to treat Medina and Heckran Cave. The Heckran battle seems unnecessary, but in the game plot Heckran is what suggests Magus may have caused Lavos.

Ideally I'll write some more next week as it's my Spring Break. After that it may be a while, as I'm going to be slammed with coursework for the next six to seven weeks. Rest assured that the script will get done.

As always, if anyone wants to make revisions to the script, please do. I imagine we should finalize Episode I if we haven't already so the Flash can get going.
