Title: Link to Demo
Post by: Solidstar on December 24, 2005, 03:33:44 am
Here is a direct link to the demo (warning - due to music, it is roughly 68 megs)

http://www.geocities.com/solid_star_16/Chrono_Stream.zip

Merry Christmas everyone!

For later versions you could post only the files without music.
That way, we could just replace the appropriate folders and voila! filesize is cut in half. Or less than half.

Of course.

Give them the link and they can download.  I PM'ed Zealty yesterday and told him the demo is up, so, yeah.

Anyone who wants it, demo is up and for grabs from everyone.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah, you definitely fight.  Each scenario has at least 1 boss.
What do you mean you didn't see anything?  My guess is that if you started Alex's quest you don't start fighting right away.  PM me with details and I'll see if I can figure out what either went wrong or see if I can enable something.

You need the RPG maker to play it right?

Technically no you don't.  It should be able to run without the program.  But yes, you can still use it to run it.

I had the file corrupted on first time I downloaded it, now just starting to unrar it, let's see does it work now...

EDIT; Ok, looks like it works now. Anyway, the installation was full of ???? -marks, I got it installed, but I have no clue what those two selections were in it. :P

EDIT2; Ok, Played it. GREAT! It took me awhile to realize that I have to press enter to enter a building. :P

Okay, I tried downloading the game, and it's there. How come all I can access is a bunch of image and sound files? Am I just missing something here?

Steps to install:

1) Download (obviously)
2) unzip the file
3) Run Setup
     - choose the path you want to install to
     - click the left button with the question marks (means "ok")
4) After installation is compltet go to where you installed the game
5) Go to the directory you installed the game to
6) Run the file "RPG_RT.exe"
     -This will start the game

Hope that helps  :D

I just had the same problem. I'm going to download it again since I'm afraid it may be my Download Manager.

About the huge sound files and such... why dont you just transcode some music files to low quality ones? It's a demo anyways...

That is the best idea I've ever heard of.  Thanks.

I'll also see if I can't fix the zip.

I downloaded is again, it's working flawlessly now.  I do believe there's something about download managers, because my second attempt was to download directly by my browser (opera) and I had no problems at all.

Opera is AWESOME.  It's my favorite browser.  I'm glad it's working now.

I used to navigate by firefox, but it's broken somehow in my computer so I started using OPERA, and I'm really happy with it. And now it's free!

About transcoding issues... if you really thing it's a good idea, you can use http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/ to do it since its really easy and fast to use.

I think Solidstar is tthe person who has to give you the link. I think he is the one who is making it. I could be mistaken though.

It takes along time for a game to get done.  Quality is a must.  He prolly wants to make the game as best as he can.  Btw, someone somehow got pixel movement into rm2k3...I don't know how either ><

I'm not exactly sure how to get it.  There's a 2d zelda ocarina of time remake in rm2k3.  No demo yet, but there's a few videos of it and there is DEFINATELY pixel movement.  Kinda huge upgrade.

The link does not work. I tried to download it from elsewhere but the Chrono Stream.lzh is corrupt. I tried downloading it three times using different downloading tools. Is there anyway someone can put the link back up to where I can download this game?

We did... and it was awesome... I have yet to find it though, so I guess I'll just have to release a third demo later on when it's ready O:)
Which, I knew I said it would be ready, but I've been reconfiguring a few things here and there and just haev not been totally focused on the project.
