Title: Chrono Cross Remastered Text/Dialogue changes
Post by: sergecross73 on November 16, 2022, 02:30:51 pm
So, Chrono Cross Remastered isn't quite a full re-translation, but there are a lot of tweaks and wording changes.

Are we tracking/documenting changes anywhere? If so, I'd appreciate it someone would point me in that direction. If not, then I was thinking of starting to document it in this thread. (I'm contemplating doing a replay of Remastered at some point here sooner or later.)

Yep, I just put a up a to-do list item for grabbing the scripts. Thus far, I don't think anyone's checked the differences, so we aren't even sure if the Japanese script only was changed, or if the English script was tweaked too.

I'm working through my second playthrough, and I've noticed plenty of rewordings, but nothing that really changes any meaning to anything.

Well, apart from those little tweaks and typo fixes, most of the changes are made just to match the Japanese dialogues, which is quite different from the original English version because of the "accent" system.
I expect bugs, something like Poshul suddently speaks normally , but I haven't finished playing the game, so I don't know if there's any.

And the game doesn't use different backgrounds for different languages.
Notice the big "S" instead of "N" outside of SS Zelbess.
